  1. I wondered from the beginning why we voluntarily created two gaping holes in our defense by cutting Lawyer and Sam Adams just to be able to better utilize the cover two. This just forced us to try to fill those holes (that we created) with a couple of rookies -- one of which was injured most of the season. It kind of reminded me of what Greggo did when he dismantled the number two defense in the league. Having said that, Whitner is a rookie. Whether he was worth the 8th pick in the draft remains to be seen. We should have a much better idea about this next year.
  2. The Ravens seem to think that he is pretty good. Their game plan was to stop the run -- just as most teams tried to do this year. The Ravens (as did most of the teams we played this year) had more respect for our RB than they did for just about anyone else on our offense. They stacked the line of scrimmage throughout and played much of the game with only three defensive backs. It seems to me that we should be wondering why we were not better able to take advantage of what was available in our passing game.
  3. Willis had a very good game against the Titans. The complaints on this board have been comical and reveal nothing more than the bias of the particular posters.
  4. These daily "I hate WM" threads are comical. The guy played his heart out with broken ribs and a bum anke. He did so while playing defenses that were stacked against the run the vast majority of the time and, yes, with an offensive line that any honest evaluation of this team would have to conclude is long overdue for a major upgrade. [You may want to ask Edge what importance he now places on an offensive line] It is comical to read all of the haters' posts. The haters have often stated that he is not a "Buffalo" guy and cannot wait to get out of Buffalo. Yet, every indication has been to the contrary. In fact, his agent's latest comments confirm that he wants to extend his contract with the Bills and stay with the team. Every comment I have ever read or heard from one of his teammates on the Bills on the subject has been that WM is a great teammate and has a lot of heart. Excuse me if I take their word for it rather than that of a bunch of keyboard jockeys who probably never played the game let alone the position. Before we run our starting RB out of town, I would suggest that we seriously upgrade both our offensive and defensive lines. RB is among the least of our worries.
  5. I was not aware that Dom Capers had a Buffalo connection. Sadly, his mom died. According to the Miami Herald, she will be burried in Buffalo. Capers mom to be burried in Buffalo
  6. Favorites: Scrooge (the one with Albert Finney) Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer (the old one from the 1960's with Burl Ives doing the voice of the snowman)
  7. I would stop being an NFL fan.
  8. If only Mularkey knew what it was.
  9. I wonder what the back story is on this. I thought it was a done deal. I wonder what happened to screw this up.
  10. Rib Eyes have more taste. When they are cooked well, they are outstanding. Another name for them is Cowboy Steak. Some of the best steaks I have had were at: 1. Shula's Steakhouse (Miami) 2. Capital Grille (Miami) 3. Morton's (Miami) 4. Tuscan Steak (South Beach) 5. Prime 112 (South Beach) 6. My back yard right off the barbecue
  11. This is going to be a great game. It also could be a spring board for the rest of the season and next year (of course, I said the same thing about the Bears). I really hope that we can continue the winning streak. Beating the Chargers would give the team a huge amount of confidence.
  12. Totally agree. As far as I am concerned, he is the best play by play guy in the league.
  13. Great post. I will never understand some of the haters out there. The guy showed a lot of heart out there yesterday.
  14. Great picture. Great win. It looks like this team may finally be coming together.
  15. You really need to read my posts more carefully: You (and others) have indicted Coker and the whole program for the actions of two people.
  16. Man, did you ever play sports?!? If one of your teammates is mugged by the other team, you protect your teammate. It happens in hockey. It happens in baseball. It happens in football. If an opposing player gave JP (or any other player on our team) a cheap shot, I would be extremely disappointed if none of our players came to his defense. I would hope that you would be as well. P.S. I noticed that you and others did not let the facts regarding this incident get in the way of what I presume is a pre-existing bias against the Canes.
  17. ESPN the Mag published the scouting reports for JP, Ben, Eli, and Rivers from 2004. They are pretty interesting -- especially in hindsight. Here is the Scouts Inc. scouting report for JP from 2004: This can be found on page 74.
  18. It certainly would put things in perspective for some people on this board.
  19. You are exactly correct.
  20. If you know what happened, then you would know that several FIU players mugged the UM long snapper after an extra point and started the whole thing. The Miami players (as I would hope any teammates would) came to the long snappers defense. If you have any doubt about who started this, consider the fact that FIU apologized to UM after the game. I have no problem with the actions of any of the Miami players -- except for Reddick and Merriweather who were appropriately punished.
  21. Do you even know what happened during that game?
  22. It looks like they are discovering the real Greggo in DC. Greggo's arrogance and losing his players Some money quotes: .
