The Sabres did exactly what they should have done. You cannot let a guy take a run at one of your best players (especially when he is in a vulnerable position) and not do something. Other teams are trying to be more physical with the Sabres. There is no doubt in my mind that Neal went out of his way to try to deliver a message to Drury (if not in fact hurt him on purpose). I have no problem with Lindy sending out Peters et al on the next shift. In fact, I would not mind seeing Lindy starting Saturday's game with that same line. If the shoe were on the other foot, Brian Murray and the Sens would be screaming bloody murder. Great win for the Sabres.

The question that I have had is why didn't they just force his hand on the franchise tag. Why agree to not tag him this year just to get him to sign the tender last year? As far as I know, Nate's choice last year was either to sign the tender or sit. It seems to me that the Bills held all of the cards. Now the Bills have none.

I have a sick feeling that the Dolphins will go after him. Nate has always played well against them. They have a need at DB. They have the cap room (as I recall). It would hurt us. If he does leave, I really hope that he goes to an NFC team.

Wade is a great guy and a great coach. He never should have been forced out (just like Bill Polian never should have been forced out). I am glad that Wade is getting another shot. He deserves it. I know that some on this board said that he never would get another sniff as a head coach. Wade's father is a legend in Texas. Wade should be well received by the people there -- with or without a headset.

The number one rated high school running back, Joe McKnight, signed with USC. Have any of you guys seen him play? By the way, USC signed the top two rated rbs out of high school. Last year, as I recall, USC signed two of the top five rbs in the country. The rich get richer.

It was alluded to on the NFL channel when they interviewed him. I am very happy for him. It is a real shame that we have not had him as our GM since the time he had his run in with Ralph's guy in Detroit (I forgot his name).
