  1. Cornell undergrad. UM law. Words cannot describe how much the Bills and Buffalo have been and are part of my life. If the Bills were ever to move from Buffalo, it would have much more impact on me than it should. Having said all that, I really do not think that he intended to slight Buffalo. Do I think that he should be more careful the way he says things? Yes. Nevertheless, I really think that he meant what he said about the fact that he loves Buffalo etc. In fact, he bought a house in OP. One of the reasons I have defended him on this board (I suppose) is that he has become the underdog on this board in the sense that he is the favorite whipping boy by some of the most vitriolic posters. There are certain players over the years that people have gone out of their way to attack. WM is the current one. The last couple of years, people were calling for Nate's head. Now, people are saying he is a must off season sign. Although I went to UM law, you would never hear me defend someone like Michael Irvin. I think that he is a jerk. WM (based on what I have heard down here) is a genuinely good guy. I saw what he did down here to come back from his knee injury. Way back when, I used to play running back in high school. I know what it is like to try to play with bruised ribs and a bum ankle. I cannot imagine playing in the NFL with three broken ribs and a bum ankle. I also cannot imagine playing behind the piss poor offensive line that we have had. People will have their own opinions. I just think that is odd that there appears to be a double standard for WM, and some people always seem to see the worst in him and others.
  2. Which part are you offended by? The fact that he loves Buffalo? The fact that he thanks God for the situation? The fact that he wants to make the fans proud? Go ahead and be offended if that is what you choose to do. Some people like to go out of their way to be or pretend that they are offended by things. What a waste of time and energy. I choose not to waste my time being offended by something like this. I am happy that he loves Buffalo and thanks God about the situation.
  3. Maybe what he was saying is that, IF the Bills were going to move (and that already was a given), the best place to move would be Toronto (as opposed to LA) because that would be best for Bills fans in Buffalo. My family has been season ticket holders since day one. After my Dad died 20 years ago, I have continued to be a season ticket holder (even though I live all the way down here in Miami). If anyone had a reason to be offended by a comment regarding moving the Bills, it would be me. The difference is that I am not going out of my way to be offended by a remark that is not being read by most of you in context. He said that he loves Buffalo. He thanks God about the situation. He wants to make the fans proud. The guy played half the season with three bad ribs and a bum ankle. You negative nancy keyboard jockies really need to get a life.
  4. We really needed another thread by the haters today. Apparently, you guys have not filled your quota today. You guys really need something better to occupy your time.
  5. Is this the quote that you think crossed the line: For some reason, no one seems to have read this one.
  6. Very well said. There has been a complete double standard with the haters on this board when it comes to Willis. The guy played with three bad ribs and a bum ankle for half the season. He showed a lot of heart. He would like to stay with the Bills, and every player that has commented on the subject has said that he is an outstanding teammate.
  7. For what it is worth, Greg Olson was a very good tight end on a pretty bad offense. I am not sure where he should be picked in the draft, but I think that he could be a very good NFL tight end. He has good hands and is able to get open.
  8. Using your logic, the Chiefs should unload Larry Johnson. He only gained 32 yards with a 2.5 yard rushing average against the worst rushing defense in the league.
  9. Didn't Rice grow up in Mississippi?!?
  10. Not to worry about the double posting. I was just commenting about the multiple daily postings by the haters.
  11. I wish some of you guys could see the forest from the trees.
  12. There has not been one post about Willis in the past week.
  13. I was shocked when Tressel panicked and went for it on fourth down on OSU's 29. Instead of being 10 points down at the half, they were 20 points down and gave up any hope of having a balanced attack in the second half. In the end, OSU probably would have lost anyway, but Tressel made sure that was going to be the result when he panicked at the end of the first half.
  14. He did. I met him when I went to the Joe Namath football camp. He was one of the coaches. It was just after he was hired to be the Jets coach. If I recall correctly, he quit during the season.
  15. Why in the world would Pete ever want to leave USC for the NFL or any other job coaching football?!? He is king of the hill in LA (without a pro football team). He turned around that program to the point where it is basically recruiting itself. USC has its pick of the litter in California and around the country. He is making a load of money. He gets to look at the USC cheerleaders every game (no small benefit). Finally, college coaches do not work nearly as much on a yearly basis as NFL coaches. If Pete is smart, he will stay just where he is.
  16. No. Actually, I was a big defender of Moulds when people on this board were siding with Mularkey in his dispute with EM. As an aside, some of the comments in this string kind of remind me of that line in Casablanca about being shocked that gambling is taking place. Professional athletes have a habit of attracting a lot of women. Big surprise. Also not surprising, there are a lot of professional athletes that have kids by women to whom they are not married. The NBA is famous for this. Even Larry Bird has a daughter by a "Baby Mama" to use today's terminology. In fact, there was an SI article about this a few years back. At the time, I think Larry Bird had not even met his daughter and apparently had no interest in doing so. There are also guys like Evander Holyfield who had everyone believing how religious he was. I think that I heard that he had multiple children from various women. As for WM, it sounds like he is taking responsibility for his actions.
  17. . . . and some of you guys have claimed that he is not producing.
  18. The new unis have grown on me. I prefer the classic unis, but these are much better than people give them credit for (in my opinion) and certainly are much better than the black ones. I also hate to say it, but I think that they are a whole lot better than the Bills present unis.
  19. I chose what I consider (and which I presume most people consider) to be our glory years since the old AFL days.
  20. same .1 yards per carry better .2 yards per carry better .3 yards per carry better .4 yards per carry better .5 yards per carry better .6 yards per carry better .7 yards per carry better .8 yards per carry better .9 yards per carry better 1.0 yards per carry better more than 1.0 yards per carry better
  21. I was fortunate to be there. Great game.
  22. Have we filled our daily quota of posts attacking WM today?
  23. Everything Don said is true.
  24. Regarding Everett, I have not seen him do much of anything with the Bills in what was essentially his rookie year. It does not cost the Bills anything to bring him to camp and see whether he has gotten over the hump.
