  1. This is sickening. Unfortunately, I have seen this type of behavior at the Ralph and other stadiums. I just do not understand the desire to get in a fight or beat up someone just because he is a fan of another team. In most cases, the trigger is too much alcohol. Even though I have been known to have more than my fair share of beer etc., the sooner stadiums stop selling alcohol or allowing people in the stadium that have already been drinking all day, the sooner this sh*t will stop.
  2. Weak. You still have not been able to come up with a good come back from several weeks ago.
  3. At this point, I just hope that the Bills finish better than last year. I am sick and tired of the media dissing Marv (as opposed to TD) and would hate to give any support to the notion that we have not upgraded our coaching staff.
  4. Let's compare apples to apples: McGahee: 2004 16 games/ 284 att/ 1128 yds./ 4.0 yds-carry/ 41 long/ 13 tds/ 64 1st downs/ 3 fumb/ 2 fumb lost Henry: 2004 10 games/ 94 att/ 326 yds/ 3.5 yds-carry/ 19 long/ 0 tds/ 17 1st downs/ 0 fumb/ 0 fumb lost I remember that some people on this board dissed WM by stating that he was no Edge. In looking at the rushing stats, I noticed that Edge has a whopping 2.8 yards per carry. Edge is still a great back, but that stat illustrates the importance of having a good line. I certainly hope that there is no one on this board that is satisfied with our o-line.
  5. Marty was a class act all of last year as well.
  6. It was a great show. It was a lot better than that awful football game yesterday. I feel better already. Clapton, of course, was great -- as was the entire band. Derek Trucks was every bit as good as people have said.
  7. For what it is worth, TT is a friend of my sister (who produced his television show). TT does not share your opinion of Willis. As for Lee Evans, he is a good player, but he is the second best player on the offense.
  8. It says that dwarves are not allowed to reproduce. What about the Dear Leader?!?
  9. Thanks. The more I read about Derek Trucks, the more excited I am about the show (I am excited enough already to see Clapton). The set list looks pretty good. I also have read a number of very good reviews. Thanks again for the comments.
  10. We should cut him right now just to make some of the people on this board happy. He is the best player on offense, but you go ahead and keep on trashing him. [As Marv used to say, if you start listening to the fans, you will end up sitting next to them in the stands]
  11. So true.
  12. So true. I really hope for Ralph's sake (and ours) that he gets to see this thing turned around -- not to mention a Super Bowl championship. [Those Super Bowl years seem so far away now.]
  13. I know they are rookies. I am becoming painfully aware of that. As another poster said, I have the feeling that their inexperience is making Clements and McGee look bad at times.
  14. Given that play, is it now safe to write on this board that JP has a problem protecting the ball. In the past, people have come out of the woodwork criticizing others for even suggesting this. I always have had my doubts about JP, but we may as well see if he can get out of this funk. We really have nothing to lose at this point. We have a lot invested in him and may as well see what he can do the rest of the season. Of course, if his most recent performances are repeated over the next several weeks, I would not fault the coaching staff for starting Nall just to see what he can do. I do not think that our problems are only the result of JP's poor play. The most glaring problem is and has been the offensive line. We have had at least two prior QBs with talent run out of town because of piss poor offensive line play. A top notch offensive line would help mask some of the other problems that we have and really help both the passing and running game. I really hope that Marv, Dick et al finally do something about this in the off season. Enough is enough.
  15. It is difficult to tell on television, but it appears that our rookie safeties are not doing a particularly good job helping the corners. I would be interested in the thoughts of others -- especially those that were at the game. I also was disappointed that Ko did not make a play on the ball in the endzone. The receiver outworked him and scored the TD.
  16. The Bills games against the Bears and Pats remind me of the thrashing the Sabres gave the Flyers. I suppose we have to take the good with the bad (as much as I hate the bad).
  17. Tonight, I am just going to forget about the game yesterday and enjoy Clapton. Have any of you seen any of the shows on this tour? If so, what did you think?
  18. Wade was a great coach. He is better than anyone that we have had since (although that is not saying a lot). I would take Wade back in a heart beat.
  19. Some of you guys have short memories. I was using "Cindy Sheehan" as a verb (rather than a noun) similar to "Bork." The reason why I found Kevin Tillman's comments particularly interesting should be apparent. Either some of you are pretending to be dumb or . . . . The Tillman brothers didn't just sit on their respective asses (as most of us did) after 9/11. In fact, Pat gave up a lucrative contract with the Cardinals. They actually risked their lives. Kevin and Pat were presented as heroes and, in fact, are heroes. Not only did they risk their lives, Pat gave his life. In doing so, the Administration came up with a story about his tragic death that was simply not true. After all of the experiences that Kevin had, he came back with a distinctly different view of the administration and what we are doing in Iraq. If someone like that has changed his view of things so dramatically, it may be worth paying attention to rather than simply dismissing what he said as "why should I give a sh--" what he thinks. One of the problems with this administration is that it is so dismissive of any contrary view. As for me, I am a republican. I supported Bush in the 2000 election and was hopeful about this administration. This administration had a lot going for it. It inherited a massive surplus. Republicans were in control of all three branches of government. The entire world was sympathetic to the U.S. Even the former president of Iran (Khatami) condemned the terrorist attacks of 9/11. The Syrians shared intelligence with us regarding Al Qaeda. The British sang the Star Spangled Banner at Buckingham Palace. French newspapers proclaimed that "We are all Americans." We had the opportunity to unite the world in the real fight against terrorism. We had the opportunity to make the sensible tax cuts permanent. We had the opportunity to do something about social security. What did the administration do? It squandered the goodwill we had around the world and the opportunity to achieve the true conservative agenda. The administration was hijacked by the neoconservatives who wanted to attack Iraq and remake the middle east long before 9/11. If you have any doubt about that, you may want to read what two architects of this war (Richard Perle and Doug Feith) wrote prior to 9/11 in a"A Clean Break." I am just sorry that 43 did not surround himself with his father's more able advisers such as Brent Scowcroft and James Baker. In "A World Transformed," George H.W. Bush and Brent Scowcroft prophetically wrote: It is a shame that W has chosen to allow his administration to be hijacked by the neoconservatives rather than listen to the more realistic wing of the Republican party -- such as his own father. The problem with this administration is not so much that it does not have the support of Nancy Pelosi, it is that it has lost so many dedicated conservatives who are now disaffected. Indeed, the American Conservative magazine did NOT endorse W in 2004. Think about that. How bad can a Republican administration be when when it does not receive the endorsement of the American Conservative magazine?!? Similarly, how bad can a Republican administration be when it loses the support of the Tillman family?!?! Some interesting reading: Scowcroft's August 2002 Wall Street Journal Op-Ed: "Don't Attack Saddam" Brent Scowcroft
  20. I guess I feel the same way about your opinion on the subject as you do about Kevin Tillman's opinion.
  21. Pat Tillman's Brother on the Administration Gee, I wonder how the W sycophants are going to explain this? I wonder if they will try to "Cindy Sheehan" Kevin Tillman? As a paleo conservative, I am amazed how the neocons took over this administration and American foreign policy. As a result, the Bush administration squandered the opportunities it had to achieve the traditional conservative agenda.
  22. Don't worry about it. I found your post interesting. I suppose some people on this board consider themselves the TBD police.
  23. What DIB said. For those of you who did not see the game, the whole thing was started by FIU when they mugged the long snapper after an extra point. That is why most of the players suspended were from FIU. Most of the guys on FIU are disgruntled because they were not recruited by UM. It was apparent throughout the game that many of the FIU guys were going out or their way looking for a fight. It should be noted that the FIU administration apologized to UM for what their players started. Having said all that, there is NO excuse for Reddick swinging his helmet. He has been suspended indefinitely by UM. Interestingly, at the end of the Peach Bowl last year, some LSU players attacked some UM players in the tunnel by swinging their helmets at their head. As I recall, one or two of the UM players had to receive medical treatment and/or go to the hospital. Why is that interesting? Because I do not recall one person on this board posting that LSU should have suspended any of their players. Where was the outcry? The fact of the matter is that FIU started this whole thing, the UM players tried to protect Perelli (the long snapper), and most of what went wrong was because of FIU players. Two UM players stepped way over the line. There is no excuse for what they did. I do not have any trouble, however, with any of the other players trying to protect a teammate or teammates.
