  1. I was referring to the value of the draft pick (not the contract). I am a big believer in staying true to your board (or trading down if possible). If I were the Bills, I would rather pick the player that they have ranked as the ninth best player in the draft with the ninth pick than pick the player that they have ranked as the 23rd best player with the ninth pick.
  2. Only 46 more sacks over the next 6 years to beat the projection.
  3. Reportedly the Ravens were interested before the trade deadline last year.
  4. I guess the cat is out of the bag with Jerry Hughes.
  5. I am not a Clausen fan in any way. I think that he is overrated and a first class prick. I really hope that the Bills have better options at number 9 than Clausen. Having said all of that, I will trust that Buddy will make the right decision with our pick. At least until I see the performance on the field, I am going to give Buddy the benefit of the doubt regardless of whom we draft.
  6. I agree that there is no reason to sign the guy given his half ass performance on so many plays last year. I also think that he was a disruptive force behind the scenes. Just my opinion.
  7. No disrespect, but do you offer to pay more for things than they are worth? I am one of those who hates it when a team reaches -- actually I hate it when the Bills reach. The best way to accumulate talent is by picking the best talent available. The other option (also better than reaching) is to trade down. It should not make any difference this year anyway. The Bills have so many needs, there is absolutely no reason to stray from their board.
  8. I always have believed that there are a lot of similarities between Buffalo fans and Pittsburgh fans. From what I have read, there appears to be a big backlash against BR in Pittsburgh. It does not surprise me. As disappointed as I was at the time that the Steelers picked him ahead of us, I am glad that he is not on our team and that he does not represent the City of Buffalo.
  9. I agree that the guy has a problem.
  10. I actually think that Orton is a decent QB. I also think that Trent is one as well. The difference (in my view) is the following: In 2009, the Denver offensive line gave up 34 sacks and 62 QB hits. In 2009, the Bills offensive line gave up 46 sacks and 103 QB hits. In 2008, the Bears offensive line gave up 29 sacks. In 2008, the Bills offensive line gave up 38 sacks.
  11. The magic of DVR.
  12. FWIW, Brandon Marshall had 101 receptions last year with Kyle Orton as the QB. In the preceding two years with Jay Cutler (who many people on this board thought was the the second coming), Marshall had 104 and 102 receptions -- in other words, essentially the same.
  13. I am looking forward to it as well.
  14. If I understand correctly now: The question and comment did not relate to the the entire NFL, but only the AFC East. The Jets play three teams in the AFC East. Of the three "number one" receivers that Revis faces, Revis ranks Evans third. Listen, I do not think that Evans is a bad receiver. I think most of the people on this board think that he has talent. He is what he is. Right now, he has not played like he is one of the elite receivers in the game. He certainly is getting paid more than his performance would merit.
  15. It is pretty low to scam the grandmother of a former teammate. If the allegations are true, I hope that they Nail him.
  16. Exactly. Don't reach. At number 9, they need to pick the most talented buy on their board or try to trade down. There is no point in picking a guy at 9 to "fill" a "need" if it is a reach. This team has so many needs, it should not even be a problem in any event. Nevertheless, the best way to increase the talent on this roster is by picking the most talented guys on the board. I am pretty confident that Buddy and his team will follow this approach and stick to their board.
  17. Perhaps a future Raider or Dolphin . . . .
  18. Ok. That makes more sense, but wasn't Fiedler the Dolphins' QB then?
  19. If that deal could be done, I would do it in a heart beat.
  20. There were also those who thought that he was a reach.
  21. Very sad, I am sorry.
  22. Don't forget that McGee also was playing hurt that game. Ted Jr. did not have a repeat performance when TM was healthy.
  23. I agree, but, if the ones that they have graded as deserving to be picked at the top of the draft are gone, why would we reach?
