  1. In a nutshell, you have captured what happened. How could anyone play their best under those circumstances? Of course, the Trent haters will blame it all on him. The wise move is what the Bills are apparently doing. Build a stronger team around the QB and see what the QB can do (rather than take a QB with a second round talent with our number 9 pick).
  2. . . . or maybe Evans could learn a few more routes . . . or maybe he can play like a "number 1" wr should be able to and avoid being taken out of games. So what you are saying is that Evans does not match up as well against whoever is covering him. The thing about Evans is that he is not a bad receiver. He is pretty good. Yet, unlike the elite receivers making the kind of money he does, he can be taken out of games by the other team.
  3. What also was funny was that Josh Reed's catch percentage was 14 points more than Evans' catch percentage (with the same QBs).
  4. Thanks for clearing that up. I had no idea how you felt about the subject. FWIW, it is going to be an open competition. I have no doubt that Chan will start whoever he thinks will help the Bills win. I obviously disagree with you about Edwards, but will live with whatever the new staff decides (presuming the decision is based on the merits and not based on placating the whingers on this board, elsewhere, and Jerry Sullivan - whose name is synonymous with whinger)
  5. FWIW, according to Football Outsiders, Evans had a 46% catch percentage. This does not necessarily indicate dropped passes, but is a reflection of what percentage of the passes thrown to him were completed. By contrast, Josh Reed's catch rate was 60%. Football Outsiders WR Stats
  6. You are picking nits.
  7. My point was that Tucker and the offensive line thought it was crazy to cut Bledsoe and go with Losman. I thought that the post was pretty clear about that.
  8. I was listening to Sirius NFL radio this morning as I normally do on the way to work. As some of you know, Ross Tucker works for them now and does a great job. This morning, they interviewed Amani Toomer and were discussing the pc responses to the media (with Toomer, it was about what was said about Shockey then as opposed to now that Toomer is retired). Tucker talked about the Bills releasing Drew Bledsoe to go with JP Losman. He said that he thought it was an absolutely crazy move and the entire offensive line felt the same way. They wanted the Bills to keep DB.
  9. I agree. I have no problem if he is the starter.
  10. Coach him up. He has the tools. Good pick.
  11. He may not be, but he probably performed better at LT than any of the others when he was forced to play there.
  12. I just read an article from the Orlando paper. The guy has overcome a lot in life and was forced to be a man before his time. Admittedly, I did not know a lot about him before although I did see him play a game against the Canes. The more I learn about him, the more I like the pick. One of the themes of our picks is that each one is a good player, a hard worker, and a good kid.
  13. Hardesty to Browns.
  14. He grew up rooting for the Sabres. Just kidding, but he does have some knowledge of the Bills history.
  15. That was one of the reasons why I was afraid of the Bills drafting Clausen. The posts that I have been reading from his supporters remind me of the Flutopians -- who seemed to be more fans of Flutie than the Bills.
  16. Apparently, not according to the Bills board.
  17. I renewed my tickets. I have no problem. I trust these guys to make the right decision. I have no problem seeing what Trent Edwards (or whoever) will do with these guys in charge.
  18. For those of you that are interested, the NFL Network is streaming the draft live.
  19. Regarding Campbell, I have a feeling that he is not someone whom Buddy would pick (at least at 41) given his comments about drafting football players. Campbell is very tempting based on his "measurables," but he has not shown that he is a high second round pick actually playing the game. Who knows? He may end up being great. I will defer to Buddy.
  20. When you put the whole package together, there is no doubt in my mind that we took the best player/person at number 9 for the Buffalo Bills. As time goes on, I dare say that even the doubters and Jimmy C./ND lovers will see the light.
  21. What he said.
  22. After watching that PC, how can anyone say that they do not like the guy. He is a great and dynamic back, did well in school, does not get in trouble, knows something about Buffalo Bills history, and genuinely wants to be a Buffalo Bill. He is going to create nightmares for opposing teams.
  23. . . . and apparently last.
  24. There is an interview of Chad Gailey re Spiller on BB.com. After watching that, I am convinced that they are going to use CJ to create a lot of mismatches (similar to the way we did with Thurman, which in my view was the key to the success of the no huddle). All the haters out there can B word and moan all they want. The Bills picked a dynamic talent that was far and away the best option than the others available at pick 9.
