  1. Very funny. Maybe it was the NHL Network or the MLB Network?
  2. I am one of the apparent few who thinks that both Edwards and Campbell can be good QBs in this league. Yet, that guy from Scouts, Inc. is nuts to suggest that the Bills give up a second round pick for Campbell. I seriously doubt that any team is going to give up that much for Campbell no matter what the upside. The Redskins also don't have much leverage now that they have both McNabb and Grossman on the roster. It is pretty obvious that Campbell is the third man out.
  3. Why would McNabb want to play behind our offensive line, which Football Outsiders ranked as the worst at pass protection and characterized as a "disaster."
  4. You know who used to be pretty good on the NFL Network a few years back - Glenn Parker. Anyone know why he left (or was asked to leave)?
  5. I was watching the NFL Network and one of the commentators was Bucky Brooks. I watch the channel a lot, but had not seen him before and wondered whether it was the same Bucky Brooks. Linky
  6. You are correct. PFT had it as Chan and has now changed it to Buddy. Nevertheless - Show me the baby.
  7. I could see that.
  8. I love it when Chad would say that on Hard Knocks. I guess guys whose names begin with "CHA" must love using baby metaphors. I am glad to hear that Chan thinks that the cupboard is not bare and that we have some talent on the team.
  9. Some would answer with two words: Urban Meyer.
  10. Show me the baby
  11. I played in some very cold games in Buffalo in HS. Playing in the cold in Buffalo is no comparison to playing in the heat at a September early afternoon game in Miami. For one thing, you can die playing in the heat down here. In fact, you can die practicing in the heat in Minnesota. I cannot imagine playing in Miami at some of the games that I have been to as a spectator. It is miserable just being in the stands in a short sleeve shirt and shorts.
  12. The Gunners escaped 2-2 against Barca in the first leg. I did not see it, but saw a recap. I hope that they can beat them in the second leg.
  13. This is on the ESPN site. Not surprisingly, we had the worst offensive line in terms of pass protection ("disaster"). There also is a interesting comment relative to Clausen at the end of the article with which I agree and consistent with the point I have been trying to make to some on this board - it will not make any difference who the QB is unless and until we signficantly upgrade the line. ESPN Link </H3> I am sorry if this was already posted. I only saw the other Football Outsiders article.
  14. Why not? Nothing to lose. Worth a shot.
  15. What he said.
  16. This is good for at least two reasons. 1. It is absolutely miserable to be there for a 1:00 game in September. I have no idea how players play in that heat with all the pads etc. when it is horrible just being in the stands. 2. One day, a player is going to die in that heat (just like that kid up in Minnesota) unless they do something about it. If the NFL makes the change, it will be good for the fans and the players. Way back when they used to have all of the September games at 4:00 p.m.
  17. FWIW, I could care less whether they have televisions in the weight room. This is not uncommon at either the pro or collegiate level. As long as they are working out, it does not make any difference to me.
  18. I was watching the NFL Network last night and they discussed a lot of the points that you are bringing up. Apparently, he has never been in trouble with the law. He has issues with maturity and being responsible. He is a 20 year old kid that did not grow up in the same kind of household that I grew up in or that my kids are growing up in. I hope that this kid gets some guidance in his life. By all accounts, he is a talented WR. He is going to make a lot of money (wherever he gets drafted). I hope (for his sake) he does not blow it.
  19. FWIW, I have a feeling that Chan will know how to get some production from him on offense. The guy was an offensive threat in college at WR. He also played QB in HS, which might be something to utilize in a wild cat. As for his punt returning, he is one of the best in the game. It should be noted that opposing teams know what he can do and take that into account when they punt.
  20. You and I see a lot of the same things, but our points of emphasis are slightly different. The way I see it, Levitre (unfortunately) ignored his guy to help D. Bell. That guy shot between Hangartner and Levitre. Hangartner then tried to block Levitre's guy who blew up the play two seconds after the snap. At 17, you can see that Hangartner and his man look like they are about to roll over on to Trent who then tries to move away from the pressure. By this time, however, our tight end is abused by Pace (I believe) who shoots in just before the delayed blitzer shoots up the middle. In my view, the mistake was made when Levitre left his man to help Bell (typically linemen are taught to block from the inside out). Hangartner tried to help, but was not able to (he did not have the angle and was not quick enough to get over there to block the guy who came through the space that Levitre vacated). My two cents.
  21. Operative words - "pocket breaks down"
  22. Scroll Down a Bit for the Summary
  23. The pocket breaks down in two seconds. That is the way I see it (at the risk of you calling me a liar again). The protection was piss poor -- as it was for the entire season. That play is a great example of just how bad the line was that they could not protect the QB on a 3 step drop. I have no problem with him throwing the ball away. You missed my point. You are saying that he should have thrown the ball away. Fine. Again, I would not have had a problem with that (notwithstanding that on that particular play he was under extreme duress and may have been concerned with the ball being batted out of his hand). The point was (which you apparently missed) is that whenever he threw the ball away or went to the underneath receiver or outlet, he got branded as check down charlie etc. (as people are posting today - and nearly every day on this board). He is damned if does and damned if he doesn't on this board. The fact of the matter is that Edwards could have very easily complained about the lack of protection (both at the pc today and last season). Instead, he stood up like a man and took the heat and said that he could have played better etc. He is a classy guy and easy to root for. Having said that, I just want the Bills to win and have no particular vested interest in Trent or anyone else. Even though I now live in Miami, I continue to be a season ticket holder (as my family has been since the inception of the franchise). The past decade has been a lost decade for the Bills. I would love to see this team turn it around - whoever the friggen QB is. I just hate it when guys get on this board and say that he is afraid or fragile etc. I could not disagree more. It took a lot of guts for anyone to play behind that line (especially with our collection of fourth string tackles). I also think that he can play. We obviously disagree on that one. Nevertheless, unless and until the Bills win the battles on the line of scrimmage, it is not going to make any difference who the QB is back there.
  24. Listen buddy. I disagree with you. I have tried to be civil with you and you resort to calling me an idiot and that I should have my Dad look at it blah blah blah. Clearly, I struck a nerve.
  25. The guy will never change. He always loves to get his digs in with the Bills.
