Bills you no longer like after meeting them in person
Peter replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OJ lived on Deer Run (not too far away from where I grew up in Williamsville. He always the nicest guy to me. Jim Kelly "evolved." The first time I met him was in Miami and he was with his "crew" from Pittsburgh. He was as others have described when he was younger. As he got older, he was a lot nicer. Wade Philips was a great guy and always engaging. Marv was a good guy. I met Bryce Paup once, and he was a nice guy. I have met Thurman over the years and he always was a good guy. CJ always was a great guy. I have met others but they all were ok provided you treat them with respect and do not interrupt what they are doing especially with family. That is true with anyone and should be obvious to us. Side note, I met a Heat basketball player a long time ago (his name escapes me/not a star player). I shook his hand as normal adults do), and he never bothered to take his keys out of his hand - as if he was too important. I had another guy do that to me. It was almost like - hey, I am too important . . . . Oh well, I cannot remember these guy's names anymore. -
Bills OL coach Aaron Kromer arrested (Suspended 6 games)
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a hunch that this will end up Not being a big deal. In the meantime, it looks like Kurt Anderson (who appears to be a holdover on the staff), will have more responsibility until this gets sorted out. http://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches/anderson_kurt/1dd1c30e-01e4-4b05-86b2-339e6d4652fe I wonder if the Bills bring in someone like LeCharles Bentley to help out in the interim. I also wonder how this impacts the offensive line competition- particularly between Seantrel and Cyrus. -
Interesting news I read a moment ago: Dalvin Cook (star RB) suspended whereas the other guy was kicked off the team. I guess Jimbo really does not want to lose his star RB. Well done sir!

The good news is that, after the justified criticism that FSU and the Tally police department got as a result of the Jameis Winston matter, they seem to be taking these types of things more seriously. They really mishandled (either intentionally or otherwise) the Winston "investigation." The incident that came out a few days ago reminded me of when Deion Sanders and his wife lived in the same mansion while they were separated. She apparently started hitting him during an argument and he ran away. As I recall, people gave him grief for running away. I was never much of a Deion fan, but that had to be one of the smartest things that he could have done. As a guy (and I have told this to my oldest son), nothing good could ever come from even physical self defense in such a situation. You are better off just removing yourself from the situation.

The News must have its sports writers take continuing education in snark. I really hope that the new guy does not lower himself to this level. He and Vic need to stay away from TBN sports writers staff meetings.

RIP Omar Sharif. Great actor. Very interesting human being. Two of my favorite movies are Dr. Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/11/movies/omar-sharif-a-star-in-dr-zhivago-dies-at-83.html

Brilliant (as they say in the UK).

Wearing Sabres shirt gets guy Vanessa Williams
Peter replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just another reason to love Vanessa. -
Nobody has mentioned the real travesty in all of this: The NFL is lowering itself by partnering with Tottenham of all teams. The NFL should be smart enough to know that London and North London are red - as in Arsenal red. COYG

How the Bills decided on Rex....
Peter replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Voldemort Not me. One criterion in addition to those that make an great HC from a purely football perspective. I think we have a great HC on multiple levels. I also think it is great that we have someone who has embraced the community etc. unlike he who shall not be named. -
Dareus seems keen on staying (update: Talks at a standstill)
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is my understanding that many, many people who work at One Bills Drive were VERY happy when Marrone "opted out." I defended the guy for way too long. I was really upset when he quit on the team and felt like a fool defending him. It turns out that Marrone's opting out was the best thing to happen to the Buffalo Bills in a long time. -
In reading some of the posts in this thread, it is almost as if CJ is still on the team and this is where the haters have come out to play. I fully anticipate that there will be plenty of "discussion" about CJ during the regular season.

Is there an issue with Seantrel?(update:"travel" issue)
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would be surprising given that Whaley has seemed to be proud of taking Seantrel in the draft. I have no idea what the truth is, but whoever made that decision made the right decision (even if it was Mr. Opt Out). -
53-yr-old Herschel Walker says he can still play in NFL
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't think he could do MMA, but he did. I would hesitate to say he cannot do something he thinks he can do. As an aside, I also recall that he is a very successful businessman. -
Is there an issue with Seantrel?(update:"travel" issue)
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has been attending the voluntary OTA's (perhaps not every single one). There is an interview with him on bb.com on one of those days. He also was interviewed by Murph on his show on another day. -
Possible trouble for Brandon Spikes; released by Pats
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well done. As an aside, I am surprised that Putin didn't show up for the ring ceremony. -
Bills' Mandatory Minicamp: June 16-18
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could be, but it seems to me that there are instances where some media guys are looking for conflicting responses rather than "context and what not." Just my two cents. -
Bills' Mandatory Minicamp: June 16-18
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As an aside, it is interesting to watch all of the player interviews on bb.com One of things that I find interesting is that some of these guys in the media seem to ask the same questions to each player. They are either lazy or just trying to push their own narratives. Another interesting thing they do is preface a question by saying: "Rex said" or so and so said . . . . -

If one were to believe Joe B, it may not have happened before (or at least not often). I am just joking. I know where you are coming from though. I just prefer to look at it as the players having some fun and bonding. -

Joe B. refers to the "eye test" and, yet, the article curiously has a photo of Tyrod in a Ravens uniform. They may need to have others start performing the eye test. -

On the bright side . . . I suppose the defense must be looking pretty good. At the end of the day, I wonder how many (if any) defenses the Bills will play that will be tougher to play against than our D. -
Is there an issue with Seantrel?(update:"travel" issue)
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently . . . . Given that this thread is now four pages and our outstanding local sports media seem to be all over this, apparently so . . . . -
Is there an issue with Seantrel?(update:"travel" issue)
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My point is the over-reaction by some on this board and callers to sports radio to things like this. Both of these guys had travel issues. It is not a mortal sin. Even Tim M. thought Nolen over-reacted in how he treated Zadorov. People make mistakes. Marcell did what he did and Sullivan writes that we should cut him (I am glad he is not running our teams). Zadorov and Seantrel have travel issues and people are all up in arms. I have had travel issues with flights. I am glad that my partners did not change the locks to the firm. -
NFL.com interview with Richie Incognito
Peter replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Being down here in Miami, I can confirm what you are saying. His teammates were all (or nearly all) in his corner.
