The Rex Blueprints: inside the mind of a defensive genius
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Over the past six years, teams have a 25.9% winning percentage against the Pats including the playoffs. Rex Ryan's record against the Pats during that time is 33.3% Tom Brady's QBR against the Rex Ryan defense during that time was 61.8 as opposed to 73.4 against the rest of the league. -
The Rex Blueprints: inside the mind of a defensive genius

How did that 4-8 record compare with the other coaches in the AFC East or around the league against the Pats? -
The Pats love signing recently cut Bills players just before playing us . . . .

Perhaps OT? Timmy Graham's Twitter Pillow Fight
Peter replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The odd thing is, in the rant that I listened to on WGR, Howard never mentioned Tim Graham or TBN. He mentioned national outlets like ESPN. I usually appreciate Tim Graham's reporting, but boy do some of these media guys have the thinnest of skins (that includes the guys at TBN and WGR). Tim Graham suggested that he was saving his information re Coller (the bit about not playing which makes no difference to me me anyway). Harrington tweeted last week that news outlets should shut down their comments section. Apparently, guys like him and Sully, Bucky, etc love to write hit pieces without being criticized. WGR guys like to shut down callers if they dare have a QB take that is different from theirs. It is hilarious that guys that love to dish it out cannot take it themselves. As for the "rogue" comment itself, it depends on who interjected the word in the first instance - the source or TG. I do not have the answer to that. I do believe that some at TBN have a narrative that they want to push re the Pegulas, the Sabres, and Bills. That includes Sully, Bucky, and Harrington, but does not include TG, Vic, and Tyler. -
The silver lining - the Bills D gets to kick the crap out of him and Buffalo Bills fans get to give Brady and the Pats a warm Buffalo welcome! I wonder how many times we will hear the chant "cheater" during that game.

Edit: now confirmed rumor that Bills will release Cassel
Peter replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I get what you are saying. Nevertheless, TT has had the benefit of learning behind Flacco in much the same way Rodgers did with Favre. EJ was thrown into the fire after Kolb got hurt. EJ is developing. He will continue to develop. Give the guy a break. -
No idea whether this is true, but I do know that Freddy is the antithesis of Bryce Brown. If it is a choice between these two, that is a bad decision.

Will the Bills save $5.5M and take a risk?
Peter replied to KRT88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keep the top three. Support whoever Rex et al choose as the starter. Just my two cents. -
Thank you! This information is VERY much appreciated.

Anyone could have broken their ribs the way that the Steeler defensive lineman jumped on Goodwin while he was on the ground with the ball. It is unfair to criticize MG for getting hurt on that play.

Given that Harvin's contract makes it unlikely that he will be with the Bills beyond this year, I think that the Bills should "take advantage" of Hogan's injury and put him on IR (if possible). It would be nice not to have to cut Goodwin, Davis, and/or Thompson. I presume Easley makes the team because of ST.

I just hope my ticket arrives before I fly off to London.

Did anyone catch Sully yesterday on NFL Radio?
Peter replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sully - his "gift" is always being able to see (or imagine) the dark cloud in the silver lining. As for "candor" (to paraphrase Saint Doug), don't confuse "candor" with being correct, -
I booked my hotel in London today. I am staying near Paddington station at a small hotel that I have stayed at before. It is centrally located and convenient for both the tube and the Heathrow Express. I still need to get my Arsenal ticket and am waiting for my ticket to the Bills game -- which I paid for months ago.

I love this. This also aptly illustrates the difference between someone (EJ or anyone else) who actually puts himself (or herself) on the line and tries to actually do something and guys like Sully or other critics or any other keyboard jockey.

AdPro Fieldhouse renovations cover up Marrone's signs

Me too. I remember being disappointed that it was still up during OTA's. I am glad they took it down - because it was odd AND because Saint Doug had the Bills put it up. -
Behind the scenes video of Tyrod Taylor's draft year
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very well said. TT is a great kid, and I love his parents. I feel the same way about EJ as well. I am pleasantly surprised with each of our QBs, and they each bring their own skill sets. I have not decided which guy I prefer to lead our offense, but I think I would be comfortable with TT, EJ, or Matt. Go Bills. -
I wonder what the "tea leaves" are telling the guys at WGR and the Buffalo media now . . . .

He bought that place before he ever joined the Bills. I believe he bought it there so that they would have a place not to far from Clemson - where a son goes to school. As far as I know, Rex and his wife also have purchased a home in the Buffalo area.

Enough incoherence/whining from WGR re: EJ
Peter replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To those here and in the media who comment that EJ was doing it against second and third stringers: 1) EJ only can play with the cards that he is dealt; 2) EJ was playing with second and third stringers - and in some cases 5th and 6th stringers. -
I live down here in Miami. If I recall correctly, it was mostly about money. They thought the young guy (and lower salary) could do the job. I am glad that they made that decision. Carpenter has been a very good pick up for us - especially with our weather.

Peter replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I did notice that Howard and Jeremy (whom I enjoy listening to "most" of the time) were pretty sensitive about this subject this morning.[ I find it hilarious when the media (particularly the usual suspects at TBN) have such thin skin. In all walks of life, the guys who love dishing it out cannot take it themselves. -
Enough incoherence/whining from WGR re: EJ
Peter replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WGR does seem to be going overboard with the slant against EJ -- although not as much as Joe B who really seems to have a bug up his arse about EJ. It has been funny to read tweets about the practices and observe the slant that different guys have taken about EJ depending on their own narrative. I have not been to any of the practices, but I have watched the preseason games. I think each QB has played well. All I can believe at this point are my own eyes. EJ showed a lot of leadership in that game winning drive - he seemed to will the team to score. EJ had been running for his life in the first few series. There was no protection at all. Yet, some seemed to blame EJ for the lack of production in those series. I cannot say who should be the starting QB. Nevertheless, I can say with 100% certainty that many in the media are not giving him a fair evaluation. I also think that EJ is not a finished product and there is NO reason to give up on him. We should continue to develop him as a QB regardless of whether he is the starting QB. Finally, EJ is a very impressive guy. He works hard, apparently wants to be with the Bills, and gets along with his teammates. There is no reason to give up on the guy. I do not know what his ceiling is, but I am sure that, given his work ethic, he will do whatever he can to reach his potential. -
Well done.
