The Real Reason the Defense Has Struggled
Peter replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder whether Dallas Cowboys fans think that an injury destroyed their season?!? It is mind boggling to me that certain Bills fans want to diminish the effect that injuries had on the Bills' season just to support their anti Rex narrative. -
Twitter rumors about Bills new structure, fate of Rex/Whaley

So what you are saying is that Mario pulled a Parcells this year? -

I was commenting on the pressure aspect of it. -
The Real Reason the Defense Has Struggled
Peter replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As an aside, putting pressure on the QB can lead to sacks (if the QB holds on to the ball too long) or forcing the QB to get rid of the ball early. It seems to me that when you force a QB to throw the ball in under two seconds, the defensive pressure (real or imagined) is effective. -
Football Outsiders analyzes Bills vs. Skins (hint: MARIO)
Peter replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have defended Mario throughout the time he has been with the Bills (ever since the media started complaining about him having his own refrigerator). I also defended Saint Doug until he quit. What Saint Doug did and what Mario has done this year is the same: they both quit on my team and still got paid millions. Just my two cents. -

Now your moniker ("FireChan") is really outdated for you . . . . -
The Real Reason the Defense Has Struggled

If the Bills and Pats traded each team's players and Tom Brady became the starting QB for the Bills, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Bills would be the ones going to the playoffs . . . . -

Thank you for being the voice of reason on this subject. -
Twitter rumors about Bills new structure, fate of Rex/Whaley
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more I read about Jim Schwartz on this board, the more I am thinking that he is the one that is being made a saint rather than Mother Theresa. Either that or he has a lot of family members who post here. P.S. It is funny how people throw out the argument that Rex is arrogant yet there are others who forget about an assistant coach being carried off the field last year. -
Sammy suggesting players aren't accountable enough...
Peter replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did Sammy say it or did he have Eugene Parker say it for him? I like Sammy and all, but I have seen him run some routes where he might want to look at himself in the mirror. -

I guess the anti Rex people are out in full force. I like and support Rex and hope that he continues as HC. I am as disappointed as anyone that we are not in the playoffs yet again. As for the defense and team as a whole, the injuries have killed us. Defense: Aaron Williams, Kyle Williams, Bradham, now Gilmore, our primary LB back ups . . . . Mario Williams - I always defended him. This year, he looks like he is on strike and does not want to get hurt. I never thought I would say this, but we can replace what little production he has had with pretty much anyone on this board. The guy should be embarrassed. I do not think that the Bills (whoever is the coach) can risk committing as much money to him going forward given that he may phone it in again. Tyrod Taylor - I like his potential, but it seems as though he has not been the same since he got hurt against the Titans. The good news is that those in the media that were ready to give him HUGE contract just a couple of weeks ago seem to have taken a step back. Running Backs - I like both Shady and Williams, but they have had their injury issues as well. Right side of our line - injuries/illness again. For those of you who might say that "injuries are not an excuse" - They certainly help explain the year that we have had. Moreover, I am raising this (not Rex who seems to go out of his way to take full responsibility for everything and also has the players backs even when they do not deserve it. Just my two cents. -
Report: Seantrel Henderson Has Crohn's Disease

Some of the comments by Joe B and certain people on this board have been WAY over the top. -
Report: Seantrel Henderson Has Crohn's Disease
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe people like Joe B (and others on this board) who have been over the top critical of this guy will relax and gain some perspective. At least one guy on this board suggested that Seantrel was not sick but only wanted to avoid playing against JJ Watt. -
12-16: Rex Ryan's Wednesday Presser
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is very true. I hope that these players realize that Rex always has their backs -- even when they may not have deserved it. -
Just watched 2014 highlight reel. We were better.
Peter replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just saw a 2014 highlight reel and realized it was a highlight reel and our defense did not have as many injuries as this year. P.S. There seem to be a few people on this board and in the media that like propogating the anti Rex narrative. -
Pegs is 15th richest owner in all of sports
Peter replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't it nice that our blood pressure doesn't go up every time there is an article about NFL teams that may move to LA? I am very thankful that we no longer have to worry about the stability of either of our teams. We could not ask for better people to own the Bills and Sabres. -

Carucci: Bills won't discuss Whaley's future during season
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vic seems to be doing more and more of that since he returned to Buffalo. It seems rather gratuitous to me. I also noticed that Tyler made some comments that surprised me. I wonder if the News management has asked these guys to stir the pot more like some of their colleagues . . . . -
Bills Release Mulligan and Promote O'Leary
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This makes a lot of sense - especially if teams were interested in signing O'Leary off our practice squad. -
Thank you for being the voice of reason and saving me the time to do this. There are certain posters here and media members (e.g., Joe B) who have had a crusade going.

Yes, he was. It is a pretty long list. It just goes to show you that getting a franchise QB is a crapshoot. Washington gave up a boatload for RGIII. Many here complained that the Bills should have swung for the fences as did Washington. As it turns out, it is a good thing we did not. Unfortunately, the way that the college game is played, there are not a lot of QBs that make the transition to the NFL much less become a franchise QB.

So this was my first NFL game (London)
Peter replied to Repulsif's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and photos. I was there as well. I am originally from Buffalo and flew in from Miami (where I live now). I had a great time going to the Arsenal and Bills game (at least until the phantom pass interference call). I am probably in the minority, but London was a great place to host a game both for the game . . . and, of course, all of the things that London has to offer. -
I have returned from my trip to London. A few quick thoughts: 1) there were a lot of people all over London with Bills gear. 2) I met many Bills fans at the Arsenal game on Saturday - including quite a few that are both Bills and Arsenal fans such as myself. 3) There were more Bills fans than Jaguars fans from the US at the game. 4) More of the people from England seemed to be supporting the Jags because they were sort of prompted to support the Jags. It was the Jags home announcer and pregame including several references to "Your Jacksonville Jaguars." Also, every seat in the stadium had a Jaguars flag for people to wave. There is no doubt in my mind that the England fans just as easily would have been cheering for the Bills had it been the Bills' announcer, pregame, and Bills flags etc. 5) I am still very bummed that we did not complete the come back.

Arrived in London. I am beginning to worry that with all of our injuries the Bills will be asking some of us who came over here to play. It was pretty cool seeing a bunch of Bills fans at Heathrow. There were more people than I expected with Bills hats etc. I only saw one person with a Jags hat.
