Not being negative at all. I like Sammy. I would just love to have a healthy Sammy for a season because I think he could be great. Maybe one day we will not have to worry his ribs, foot . . . .

Josh McDaniels to pursue HC job in 2017

Exactly, we can dream . . . . -
Each day I swing by this board on the internet and see the eternal question: "How is Watkins?" I wonder if this is an old Chinese riddle. There can be only one answer and one answer only, however, since the first game of his NFL career with the Bills: "Injured." I long for the day when the answer to this question is "healthy" and hope that that happens when he is still playing for the Bills.

CJ Spiller visiting Jets (Update - cut by Seattle)
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that Chan knows how to use him and he could be productive if healthy. If there is a possibility of that, I would rather see him do it for another team other than one in the AFC East. -
This just in, Rex is a pretty good Head Coach after all!!
Peter replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a great post. Give the guy the amount of time that NFL coaches should get to do their job. As an aside, I think that it would be funny to have the usual haters here and in the media have the vultures and haters swirling around them and incessantly criticizing them and telling them that they should be fired etc. the way they do with Rex. -

I really hope he does not sign with the Jets . . . although it will not surprise me if he reunites with Chan. -

Say what you will about whether he is a good coach or not (I like him), but I am very confident that Rex works his ass off . . . as all of these guys do. -

This is 100% correct. I was hoping that the vultures would stop with the ridiculous daily posts on this subject. I really would like to see how this team can do without the incessant negativity here and in the media. Just my two cents. -

You know this how? I would hesitate to say that any NFL coach under prepares (except for maybe Steve Spurrier). Whether you like them or not, these guys work their asses off. Some of these guys sleep at the stadium. The amount of time that these coaches prepare is outrageous. Stating that an NFL coach does not work hard is kind of like trying to argue that an NFL player is not tough. By definition, each coach works his ass off for nearly the entire year and every player that gets on the field is gutsy. -
It would be nice if our fan base and the media covering the team would lighten up and get a sense of humor.

Bills tied for #3 in the league in sacks

I agree with that. -

The defense had a horrible game against the Jets. I agree with that 100%. We can argue about why that was. I thought Moose Johnston, during the telecast, accurately described why there was a difference between the Jet and Cards games. I agree with him and think that it was plain as day for all to see . . . except, of course, if one is pushing an anti Rex narrative. -

So in two out of three games, the defense did pretty darn well. -
Thank you.

I am disappointed that you and others (here and in the media) would make this comment. Rex has a very good sense of humor. Unless you are going out of your way to pretend to be offended, everyone understands (or should understand) that Rex means absolutely no offense to Belichick. Anyone who really has been paying attention knows that both Rex and Rob have a ton of respect for Belichick. Sometimes people need to lighten up. I have said it before, but some of you guys (here and in the media) seem to miss Doug Marrone's charisma. Cough cough.

Our defense was not what it needed to be in the Jet game. No question. We can argue about why that was. Having said that, I am thrilled with how the team (and the defense in particular) responded to the vultures and Rex Haters circling around them. Chuck Knox (and others) have said that the measure of man is how he reacts to adversity. This team had about as much adversity it could have between the Jet game and the game yesterday. The haters in the media and here were in full throat against both the team and Rex (pushing the Rex to be fired narrative). We had a lot of key pieces missing against the Cards. And, oh by the way, the Cards have both a great offense and defense. It would have been very easy for this team and the players to basically phone it in etc. What is clearly apparent to me from yesterday is that the team responded about as well as a team can in the face of adversity and the players love playing for Rex. It is one game. Yet, the Jet game was one game as well. We need to push forward and beat the Pats. It will be a lot easier for the team to have a successful season if the usual suspects are not looking to be negative about every darn thing relating to the team or pushing a narrative that the head coach will (or should) be fired etc. Go Bills! Go Gunners! -
I have no problem with Pats fans . . . as long as they were Pats fans before this incredible string. There was a time when Pats fans had their suffering as well. As long as a Pats fan is not a bandwagon type of fan etc., all I can say is enjoy this incredible run.

This is very true. Having a lot of sacks is good considering the stat by itself. Having fewer sacks does not necessarily tell the whole story either. If a QB such as Tom Brady is determined to get rid of the ball quickly, there is nothing much you can do. If I recall correctly, in the first Pats game last year, he got the ball out in less than 2.0 seconds on average. If you force the QB to get rid of the ball quickly (for whatever reason), your pass rush (or threat of pass rush) already has succeeded in that aspect of defensive football. -

I did not realize it until recently, but the stat that really concerned me from last year was that we were among the worst in three and outs last year (I believe second to last). That is a horrible stat for an offense -- it also does not do your defense any favors. -

How can that be? How is it possible that we have the same number of sacks as the Eagles or that Schwartzy has fewer sacks than two teams? How is it possible that the Dolphins are not on this list or that Mario Williams is not on this list all by himself? How is it possible that Mario only has four total tackles and one sack after three games? Do the Dolphins have Mario playing defensive back? -
How many times will the fire alarm go off at the team hotel the night before the game?

I have no complaints with Charles Clay. I think he is a great team first player. He cannot help it if (for whatever reason) we continue to have trouble throwing over the middle/throwing him the ball. I also like the fact that Clay is not a diva. He has no problem doing the dirty work and has not had his agent or anyone else make demands that the Bills throw him the ball X number of times a game whether he is open or not.

I agree . . . especially given the game Schmidt was having.

I feel bad for people like him and Sully . . . or are they one and the same.
