  1. Is this another example of the media presenting its own speculation (or opinion) as something more?!?
  2. I predict both will play with JG getting most of snaps.
  3. Busted foot? Otherwise, he is not a bust.
  4. I am not challenging you on this - I am just curious why this will be the number one job: Owner? Talent? Playing at least one game in the city that Arsenal plays in? Something else?
  5. I am talking about sports psychology. If you are surrounded by negativity, guess what? I firmly believe that negativity breeds negativity. I absolutely believe that. The haters here and in the media are emblematic of a certain percentage of fans/media that surrounds the team. It is not that one post by you or anyone else by itself is going to affect anything per se. I am referring to the negativity that you guys here and in the media are indicative of. I will give you an example of how this worked this past weekend in a positive way. At the beginning of the game, it did not look good for us. The offense moved backward (in the aftermath of the G. Roman firing) and the Cardinals had tremendous field position. I could sense that the crowd could have turned real negative really quickly. Fortunately, the Cardinals did not take advantage of the great field position, the Bills offense got on track, and the home crowd was engaged, loud, and tremendous. A non sports example: In my line of work, there is a tremendous amount of stress for a variety of reasons. In any event, I always have believed that anxiety breeds anxiety. I choose to stay away from people that go bat sh*t crazy when there is stress. The same thing with negative people who are always bitching and moaning. If you do not agree with me, so be it. I frankly will not be bothered by it. Believe what you will. If you like negativity, there are a lot of people on this board and in the Buffalo media who will scratch your itch. I choose to point out when I think people are being ridiculous (at least in my view). Just my two cents.
  6. Yep. I have an 8 year old and a 14 year old. When I was younger, I did not give going into teaching any thought whatsoever - even though I have relatives who are teachers. If I had it to do all over, I would have given it much more serious thought as I see my relatives enjoy their summer vacations and others retire at a fairly young age with a pension and full medical. Most importantly, I cannot think of a more productive, rewarding, and important job than being a teacher.
  7. This is similar to how so many were (or pretended to be) upset when Jerry Hughes took an Uber (after the first bus but before the second bus). People like to be upset . . . . I can fully appreciate that. After going to my high school age son's open house the other day, I was left to wonder where were some of these teachers when I was going to school . . . .
  8. As I said, it probably was not the most meaningful game in the world, but I would suggest that a game where guys are playing for jobs is more meaningful (relatively speaking) than a game in which the players and the team are intentionally saving themselves for the playoffs.
  9. He did not make that clear last week. I did not listen to that yesterday. Vic certainly presented it as more than personal opinion. When I called out a Rochester "journalist" on this on Twitter and made him look ridiculous, he blocked me. So, no, I do not think that most of these guys make it "clear" that they are only expressing a personal opinion.
  10. It was not as meaningful as it could have been, but probably more meaningful than a win against a team that was saving itself for the playoffs.
  11. You have 11,022 posts on this board and you never have read anyone argue Rex is a bad HC because Rex's team was worse last year than the year before?!? Hmmm.
  12. As I recall, wasn't it a completely meaningless game for the Pats (as, unfortunately, most of their end of regular season games seem to be)?
  13. This is another great post. John Clayton clearly makes sh*t up. That was plain as day when they asked him about this subject last week. He is just giving his personal opinion. This is one of the things that has pissed me off about some of our local media: They say that Rex will get fired if the Bills do not make the playoffs when really the only thing that they are able to say is that they think he should be fired - not that they have ANY inside information.
  14. When comparing Rex's record and St. Doug's record, the Rex haters (1) always included the meaningless game (for the Pats) in which Brady did not play the entire game; and (2) never seem to acknowledge the key injuries and Mario strike last year. I wonder . . . if the Bills win this weekend, will these same Rex haters seek to discount the win even though it is meaningful for both teams at this stage of the season . . . .
  15. I think each of the issues that Karlos Williams had obviously was due to Rex impersonating Walt Patulski in a media conference call with Edelman yesterday.
  16. Myles Jack has played 6 more snaps on defense than Shaq and Reggie. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/09/29/myles-jack-is-a-bench-warmer-but-jaguars-say-that-will-change/
  17. I think it is hilarious. Cheating: NO!
  18. This is an absolutely outstanding post sir. It is the best thing I have read on this board recently. It is amazing how many Bills fans/Rex Haters and members of the media either have no sense of humor or pretend to be offended by this. Amazing. As an aside, in one of the videos of this, I think you can actually see Jerry Sullivan laugh. I was not sure that was even possible and was convinced that may be one of the seven signs of the apocalypse so we better be careful.
  19. Rex always has paid respect to Belichick -- as he did in his PC when he called him the "best in the game." To suggest otherwise shows that we have: 1) a humorless bunch; 2) people who do not pay attention; 3) Rex haters who choose to ignore statements like this; 4) all of the above.
  20. You guys are the first to ever call this Reagan Republican a hippie. Congratulations. I do like classic rock though (Beatles, Stones, Led Zep, Doors, Who etc.). If you guys do not believe that negativity and the vultures swirling around a team can effect a team then I guess you do not believe in sports psychology and we disagree. The same thing clearly happens in every day life if you have a negative and horrible work environment. No - I am not blaming "the fans." I do not believe that the Sullys (Sullen) and negative Nancys of the world (and on this site) represent "the fans" - you guys just happen to be the loudest and seem to make it your life's mission to attack Rex. Just my two cents.
  21. You mean like Marv Levy? With all of the negativity and the vultures and haters swirling around, I do not think that St. Doug would have been able to get the performance Rex got out of those players this past weekend. As for "players' coach": There is a difference between a coach that players want to play for and inspired by and a coach and a patsy over whom players walk over. Just my two cents.
  22. I agree 100% with the part of the above that this thread is ridiculous. Regarding "winning pressers" that is a cheap shot. Also, ultimately personalities do matter. Other than Mario Williams and the former tight end for the Jets, I suspect that every player (or nearly every player) would rather play for Rex than St. Doug. As someone who used to play organized sports, those things DO matter. Go Bills! Go Gunners!
  23. On the flip side, I believe that we were second to last in the league in three and outs last year. That is not a good stat for the offense and it does not do any favors to the defense. Go Bills! Go Gunners!
