CBS: Rex could be fired, TT benched Monday with loss
Peter replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jason LaCanfora called out for pushing another BS story: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/12/12/mike-shanahans-not-being-hired-jed-yorks-not-being-fired-by-49ers/ This time trying to push for a job for Shanahan with the 49ers. -
True. Nevertheless, certain supporters made asses out of themselves. If you want another example, Sir Alex was on the hot seat after his few seasons. Man U was lucky they did not fire him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2326585/Alex-Ferguson-sacked-winning-trophy-Manchester-United-modern-game-says-West-Brom-boss-Steve-Clarke.html

Sammy: Not Exactly a Vote of Confidence for Rex
Peter replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Indeed. -
Some of you know that I also am a huge Arsenal fan. Some Arsenal fans (otherwise known as the Wenger Out Brigade or WOBs) have tried to get Arsene Wenger fired over the past few years. That did not work out so well for the WOBs and all they have done is embarrass themselves. You can draw your own conclusions.

I do not know about walk. I saw plenty of missed tackles. Yet, even with everything going against us, the team seemed (at least to me) to try to fight to get back into the game.
-
It is a done deal now. You should now concentrate your efforts on getting ND to fire Brian Kelly. Your work is done here.
-
Maybe it is just me, but it seemed as though the team did NOT quit and even fought hard to get back in the game up until the botched on side kick.
-
I agree that Jerry is not Maybin. Maybin was a special kind of draft bust.
-
Sometimes I think it would be "fun" if the haters had people on message boards and twitter complaining about how they did their jobs or tweeting that they should be fired. That would be interesting . . . .
-
I am not sure that the Pegulas made their billions by following the "advice" of people on social media.

I still want Rex. Two years is too soon to get rid of a guy - especially with the injuries and QB play that we have had. By nature, I am not one to join the pitch fork crowd anyway. I also think that firing a coach after just two years with the injuries and QB play that we have had will do absolutely nothing to make the job attractive to someone who would be in demand. It just would show how unstable the situation is. Just my two cents.

Tyrod's Wonderlic: Can he run an NFL offense?
Peter replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jim Kelly - 15. Dan Marino - 16. I am not saying that T. Taylor has shown he is the guy, but, as with everything, this does not tell the whole story. http://wonderlictestsample.com/nfl-wonderlic-scores/ -

I have said a long time ago: No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo media. Let me amend that: No one circles the wagons like the haters on this board. This place is an echo chamber for the haters. -
Taylor showing frustration to Buffalo media

Interestingly, at the end of year press conference last season, it was Mr. Sunshine Jerry Sullivan (as I recall) who was pushing the narrative that TT was woefully underpaid. -

My two cents after reading the article quickly: This is nothing more than Vic trying to justify his earlier (discredited) article way back stating that Rex would get fired if the Bills did not make the playoffs. The section about the last drive of the first half is an example of Vic reaching to try to make Rex look bad. Rex was in no way throwing Anthony Lynn under the bus. They also did not run out of time by running the ball. They just did not make the first down in the end. Just my two cents. P.S. I have purposely stayed away from here and from reading the TBN, because nothing is more depressing after a Bills loss. -
Indeed. Bill Cosby said something interesting about the Zimmerman matter that "appears" to apply here. Cosby said that, if Zimmerman never had that gun, he probably never would have gotten out of his car to confront Martin and the incident never would have happened. Here, according to the eyewitness: "The woman said a man was yelling at the athlete, who looked like he was apologizing, when he pulled out a gun and shot McKnight multiple times. She said the shooter then stood over the fallen footballer and said, 'I told you don’t f–k with me' and fired one more time." Having a gun gives certain people a sense of bravado that they would not otherwise have. Again, whether you agree wholeheartedly with the NRA or do not, it is still an interesting point. The question sometimes is not whether you can do something (or have the right to do so), but whether you should. The whole thing is senseless. A young man has lost his life (his family and friends have lost him) over something as trivial as a traffic incident and another guy not wanting to be "f-ked with."
-
I would trust and hope that (especially if the eyewitness account is correct), everyone agrees that Joe did not deserve to be killed (actually he was executed) over this incident. Whatever your thoughts are on the Second Amendment, the Founders did not intend to create a Constiutional right to execute a man apologizing and begging for his life in the aftermath of a traffic incident.

He was. I remember watching some videos of him when he played in HS. This is so sad. RIP Joe.

Goodwin left practice early (wrist)
Peter replied to mikemac2001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sad, but true. (I am impressed with your Arsenal knowledge) Cazorla and Bellerin really hurt. Debuchy finally came back and got hurt after 16 minutes the other day (hamstring) and looks to be out for a while (we especially needed him now with Bellerin also being hurt). Welbeck and Per were out before the season even started, and although Wilshere is out on loan and not currently injured, he is bound to reinjure his ankle once he comes back on loan. -

Sadly, you are 100% correct. Even without all the WR injuries teams have been crowding the box daring us to throw the ball. -

Football is a violent game. Whether you are large or small, guys get hurt. Even a tough as nails guy like Gronk gets hurt - a lot. Unfortunately, we have had more than our fair share of injuries. For this, I am going to take full responsibility. As some of you know, I also am a fan of Arsenal. Those of you who follow the EPL also know that Arsenal has an injury crisis every single year (or so it seems). There also is a lot of disappointment being an Arsenal fan. Somehow this all must be my fault given that I support both teams. It also could be Gunner Bill's fault as well. -

One of the guys who gave him advice was Bill Parcells (they worked together in Dallas and have a good relationship). -
Seantrel Henderson suspended another 10 games
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am quite familiar with Seantrel's college career given that I am a Canes fan and live here in Miami. The point is that it is altogether possible (and perhaps probable) that he was suffering from Crohn's disease for some time, that it was undiagnosed, and that he found that smoking pot relieved his symptoms.
