  1. Agree to disagree. I believe that the Pegulas have changed the attraction of working for both the Bills and Sabres. I think that they will reverse their goodwill if they fire Rex for the reasons I mentioned above. Such a decision would be self-defeating and short sighted. Just my two cents.
  2. For what it is worth, even though I live in Miami, I am a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder.
  3. Did you see what Bill Belichick came up with to stop our explosive offense in Super Bowl 25? Bill is not so bad at that defense thing himself.
  4. The drumbeat of negativity is very sad and depressing. Certain members of the Buffalo media (as well as certain people here) thrive on negativity and are expert in finding the dark cloud in the silver lining.
  5. No in demand coach is going to choose the Bills job if: the new ownership only gave the guy that they hired less than two years even though he was about as successful as any Bills coach in the past 17 years and even though the team has had an inordinate amount of injuries, suspensions, and substandard QB play. Whether you believe that the Bills job was not desirable under Ralph, the Pegulas would be ensuring that the Bills job is not particularly desirable with them as owners (and certainly with DW as GM or whoever is trying to throw Rex under the bus).
  6. So the team already has the same number of wins after 14 games that you predicted for 16 games. Interesting.
  7. Dareus - how many games has he missed in the past two years because of suspension or injury? Williams - how many games has he missed in the past two years because of injury? Mario - how is he doing this year playing in the scheme that he believes was made for him? Gilmore - he had a good year last year and has had some good games and bad games this year. Look what he did (or did not do against the Jets) - it had nothing to do with scheme and everything to do with not making plays. Darby - he also had a terrific year last year in Rex's scheme. See Gilmore above re this year.
  8. Why does this NOT make sense? New Points: 1) To make this move, the Pegulas would be going against what I perceive to be their nature. They do not seem to be the kind of people/owners that would make such a move given their Sabres and business history. 2) If the Pegulas were to make this move, they would essentially be saying that they made such a terrific mistake that they needed to pull the plug on a head coach even though he has been on the job for less than two years and his record is about as good as anyone we have had in the past 17 years. [NOTE: I like Rex and do not believe the Pegulas made a mistake by hiring him]. 3) If Doug Whaley is attempting to make people believe that he was not all in on hiring Rex, the Pegulas would know whether this is true or not. If Doug Whaley or someone in his department is trying to throw Rex under the bus (either through leaks or directly with the Pegulas), I think that this could blow on in his face. My belief is that Doug Whaley was all in on Rex and Rex would not have been hired without him supporting the hire. The Pegulas will remember that Whaley supported the hire (or at least did not voice any objection etc.). If that is the case, I have a hard time believing that the Pegulas would fire Rex and keep Whaley if, in fact, they think that someone needs to go for football reasons.be and trying to the revisionist history Exisitng Points (no less applicable): 1) The guy has about as successful a record as any coach we have had over the past 17 years (even with the depth of injuries, suspensions, QB play) 2) Not even two years yet. 3) The impact that this would have on any good coaching candidates who would look at the job as substandard given that the current HC was not really given a chance.
  9. This reminds me that we are approaching the season when various sports writers do the bidding of Jimmy Sexton and Doug Marrone.
  10. Exactly, what do Shady, Wood, Incognito, Douz etc. know about what is actually going on at OBD. They should be taking their cues from the pitchfork crowd here and in the media.
  11. What is the over/under on days after the season on which St. Doug takes his name out of consideration to be the permanent HC?
  12. How can the Jags name Doug Marrone HC when I seem to remember both Jason La Canfora and Schefter reporting that he was going to be the Jets head coach? Can the Pegulas own the Sabres while the same guy serves as both the Jets and Jags' head coach?
  13. The difference is that I have not started one thread on this issue when it has seemed that multiple threads (sometime multiple threads per day) have been started by the haters dating back several months. My defense of Rex may be "tired" but it is no less accurate - especially in response to the same "tired" criticisms.
  14. The Rex Haters are in full force desperately trying to justify in advance why it is a good idea to fire the Bills' most successful HC in 17 years.
  15. Golic is 100% correct. Not only is not the right thing to fire Rex (as it relates to Rex), it makes the organization and ownership look really, really bad. As I have stated elsewhere, I seriously doubt that any good HC candidate who is in demand would look at the Bills HC job favorably if the Bills gave the current guy just two years especially given the depth of injuries, suspensions, and inadequate QB play. This would be self-defeating.
  16. Jason has a 1 in 7 shot at being correct . . . no matter which year it may be.
  17. When one has such a high IQ compared to us lesser mortals, his spelling and grammar is on an entirely different plane that we are just unable to comprehend . . . .
  18. Wow, it seems as though Schwartzy may not be as well received in Philly as one would think based on the modern, 21st century Schwartzy defense I read about here: The article begins: "Once again, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz was nowhere to be found inside the losing locker room. He has declined all season to present his defense of the defense immediately after games . . . ."
  19. How many of those do we have?
  20. Basically, Jay Skurski already has made up his mind that DW is "failing" and it is a mistake to keep him. If that is the case, why bother granting the interview or why bother going through with the interview if you already have made up your mind as Skurski has. Whether you like Rex as a HC or not, you have to respect how he keeps his cool during the press conferences. I would have a difficult time not exploding.
