  1. I appreciate that. On a totally different subject, what do you think about Ozil's "performance" against Everton and Man City?
  2. I should have been more precise - they both overpay in some trades. 1) There was no reason to pay as much as the Bills did for the Sammy pick given that the Dolphins had set the market the year before by trading LESS to move up MORE spots. 2) I still do not understand trading a first round draft pick for a goaltender that was a back up in Ottawa and whom they could not afford to keep in any event. I think that GMTM did his uncle a favor by trading more than a second round pick. I also wish we could have had the first round pick to include in the ROR deal rather than Zadorov. I also thought that some of the "throw ins" in the Kane/Bogosian deal probably were unnecessary.
  3. As an aside, GMTM and DW have at least one thing in common: they both overpay in trades.
  4. Yes. Go Bills!
  5. I apologize for my tone then. It was not my intention.
  6. I look at everything in context. I have listed some of the reasons why I believe he has not been given a fair chance. If Rex is the coach next year and he does not have all of the handicaps that I mentioned, we can then judge him fairly.
  7. If so, it certainly has not been a wonderful message to send the players these past few weeks. . . . and, sadly, those that are leading the crusade against Rex are likely to be rooting for Miami and the Jets . . . .
  8. I got it. But, I think that he was saying that it is not logical to fail or refuse to consider the items that he listed (by way of example).
  9. It is interesting how you left out the items that BmarvB listed that those who want to give Rex a fair chance consider.
  10. You asked me what I thought a standard passing attack was. P.S. That was one of many reasons why I think he has NOT been given a fair chance. If Rex were given the time that I believe every HC should have and did not have all of the handicaps that I have mentioned, then we could have a fair evaluation. As it stands now, I think he and his staff have done well given all of these handicaps as well as the distractions that are posed by this story that is promoted by, for example, Jason La Canfora, Vic C, others at TBN, WGR, and people on this board. P.P.S. If we went back in your timeline, how far back were you raising the issue of Rex getting fired?
  11. One thing that I am pretty sure about is that the Rex Haters will be rooting for Miami (and the Jets next week). Merry Christmas Bills fans.
  12. If you believe that we have a top 15 passing attack, God bless you.
  13. Fair chance? Only two years (actually less than two years if you believe the rumors). Substandard QB play. When opposing teams readily state after games that their strategy was to make TT try to be a QB, that is a problem. Depth of injuries and injuries to key players (WR and safeties in particular). Suspensions. Key defensive player deciding to go on strike because he had to cover a handful of times during the year. If you do not believe that having key players out (e.g., Marcell, Kyle, Aaron, Cordy, Regland, Sammy, Woods - and in many cases their backups and, in some, back ups to the back ups) affects the success of a team, one only need look at the Sabres' record with and without Jack Eichel.
  14. To those who say that Rex getting fired after just two seasons does not matter when it comes to trying to attract a replacement: "Given that [Rex] has been 8-8 and is now 7-7 and still alive for a playoff berth, it doesn’t seem like he has gotten a fair chance. And that perception will be a factor when it comes to the effort to hire the team’s next coach." http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/12/23/doug-whaley-explains-teams-approach-to-rex-ryans-job-security/
  15. Did they ask him whether Doug or someone in his department is throwing Rex under the bus by leaking things to the media?
  16. This essentially is your answer. The Rex Haters are crusaders and post more ofter on this subject. It is like sports radio where the negative Nancies rule the day and call in. Here, the Rex Haters seem to post most often and are allowed to start multiple threads on the subject. Unlike other subjects, the mods do not seem to mind multiple threads when it comes to the Rex Haters. I even jokingly have posted in some of these threads: [This is an automated response by Peter] The Rex bashing by the Rex Haters is currently being discussed or already has been discussed in multiple other threads. Please consider the irony of the usual blow hard suspects complaining that Rex is a blow hard. Please also consider using the "search" function -- or better yet "discretion" before going on and on and on and on about how much you do not like Rex. Thank you
  17. . . . or believe in giving the guy a fair shot and are not much into crusades . . . .
  18. I am amazed that there are 40% that want to fire him.
  19. Maybe we will have fewer injuries and suspensions . . . .
  20. I agree with you. P.S. It is funny how some of the haters tried to turn the Jerry Hughes thing into an anti Rex and Rob thing.
  21. Sullen certainly likes to carry a grudge. He even mentioned Tim Connolly who last played for the Sabres in 2011.
  22. Just a few days ago, the people who are so sure of themselves in their criticism of Rex said that I was only one of two people who wanted him back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sQ7cuYgjzw
  23. My comment was not a Rex v. Doug comment. It was more about how the media hated Marrone (and not without some reason) and now (unfairly in my judgment) is attacking Rex - a guy who, not only has shown a lot of class and dignity in dealing with them, but makes their jobs a lot easier because of his personality. Just my two cents.
  24. The local media (or at least many of them) really are shortsighted.
