  1. Well Brandon and Whaley seem to be tied to the hip on this.
  2. i am completely underwhelmed. I would rather that Arsene coach both the Bills and Arsenal. The whole thing reminded me of the Green Mile ("Dead man walking"). The whole escapade does not reflect well on Whaley, Brandon, or the organization (organeyezation for our neighbors to the north).
  3. I do not have photos and a recording of his call with Jason LaCanfora etc., but where there is smoke there is fire. I have no doubt that Doug Whaley threw Rex under the bus with the owners or with the media or both. They used to say follow the money. To paraphrase, follow who kept his job and is leading the search for the new head coach. What Whaley seems to have forgotten is that the media is not finished with this story and there will be more to come out. He better get used to more articles like the one that the TBN guys have written about him lately. Enjoy Doug. No one feels sorry for someone who throws someone else under the bus . . . especially when you are the last football person on the bus.
  4. Yeah, he really has shown how much character he has these past few weeks with the leaks and all . . . .
  5. True . . . except that it is consistent with everything that has happened. Maybe Doug will trade a first for a new coach just for fun.
  6. I hate Bucky and love the Pegulas. I also hate the move today. If the Pegulas thought that they could placate the anti Rex pitchfork crowd here and in the media by firing Rex, they are sadly mistaken. They listened to the wrong guy and fired the wrong guy (if they were going to fire anyone). Bucky wrote a lot of words - most of these thoughts he has sprinkled in many other articles. He hates the Pegulas and takes his shots every chance he gets. Same with his buddy Sullen. It was foolish for the Pegulas to think that firing Rex was going to do anything to take off the heat or do anything other than create the same response that Bedard had with people around the league. I really hope we somehow turn this around quickly. Ugh.
  7. I love the Pegulas but they clearly are not listening to the right guy.
  8. Rex's record the past two years is better than Tom Coughlin's record his last two years and (in case you forgot) Tom Coughlin had Eli Freaking Manning as his QB.
  9. I believe this more and more. They made Rex the scapegoat and leaked to the media and undermined Rex. It would have been nice for the HC - any freaking HC - not to be actively undermined by others in the organization.
  10. This now reminds me of the aftermath to Brexit where those who were pushing to get out of Europe suddenly realized they actually have to deal with the aftermath. I just read that our top candidates are Tom Coughlin and Teryl Austin. I hope you guys are excited.
  11. It seems that way. I honestly believe that any worthwhile, in demand HC candidate is going to have some severe reservations given Whaley's history with Doug Marrone and Rex Ryan (who basically gets along with everyone). I know some want to wear blinders on this, but it is obvious to me. The Pegulas better be prepared to overpay to get anyone who may be in demand. Otherwise, we will hire Anthony Lynn - a guy whose biggest advocate ironically was Rex Ryan. I suspect that we will not have to "outbid" anyone for Lynn. Again, I like Lynn and what happened to him is very moving. He could end up being great, but he is someone who needs an opportunity more than many.
  12. Yes, it worked with: Gregg Williams Mularkey Jauron Gailey Marrone and also with Todd Bowles Nick Saban Cam Cameron Joe Philbin Yep. I wonder if that guy knows that he is a star on this board. This should be the guy on the top of Doug Whaley's list of people to interview.
  13. I never started to dislike Doug Whaley or suggest he should be fired (notwithstanding overpaying for Sammy etc.) . . . until I suspected that he was throwing the head coach under the bus with leaks and with ownership. What I have read today confirms my suspicion. This is not a good look for the organization in general, for DW in particular or to any prospective HC who is desirable and in demand. I also do not like guys who go behind people's backs like someone (read Dough Whaley or someone close to him) to guys like Jason La Canfora. Again, not a good look and it says something about the person's character.
  14. Who was on the Top Five Yacht in Boca?
  15. I live in Miami. They have two QBs that are better at that vertical passing thing . . . . Gase also got some heat for supposedly being over his head during the first part of the season.
  16. Again, from what I recall reading at the time: they shared kisses on the Pegula Yacht over expensive wine and it was made known how Whaley and Rex were kindred spirits and they all sang kumbaya. I am exaggerating of course but at no time did I ever hear that Doug Whaley was not for hiring Rex until . . . oh wait . . . the same time as the rumors about Rex being on the hot seat started circulating. Hmmmm.
  17. This is right on. If players do not tackle or jump up while in position to make a play in pass coverage . . . it does not make any freaking difference whether you are playing wide 9, Rex's defense, the Seahawks' defense etc. i typically fall for that . . . and always feel foolish a nanosecond after clicking on the link.
  18. Maybe you should be more precise in your language. Sorry, I could not resist. So you think that Lynn is going to be in high demand for the Rams job? I like Lynn, but I just do not think that A Lynn is the guy who Silent Stan Kroenke is going to higher to help sell seats in their new stadium. Hmmm. It is sad.

  20. Intrigue . . Does that explain play calling before 4th down play. I am just joking. Rooney Rule. Again, I am not taking anything away from Lynn. I like him and think he could be good. I just do't see him as someone who has been in high demand yet or would be someone whom Kroenke would hire to excite LA fan base. The Bills may be hist best option and about the only place where he may be warmly received (at least by half the fan base).
  21. He was . . . or were people satisfying the RR? AGAIN, I like Lynn. I believe he would be better received here than elsewhere. I just don't see him firing up LA fan base etc.
  22. Why do people have a hard time believing this. It is obvious (I also predicted firing Rex would not go over well).
  23. Not if they have a choice or are in demand - unless Pegulas overpay, promise more than two years, and Whaley's role is sorted.
