Rex's "This is Fine" press conference today - a doozy
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Somebody needs to ask them about their jobs the way they are so dismissive of others. I wonder what the trend is with TBN subscriptions. I presume down in general given the newspaper industry. Of course, given the way Bucky, Sully, Mike H., and Vic etc. judge others (without considering injuries, the QB, suspensions and their effect on the HC), I suppose I could blame them for the Buffalo News' downward trend. Why not? They never seem to distinguish between the forest and trees. -
Rex's "This is Fine" press conference today - a doozy

I just watched this thing again. Rex showed a lot of class dealing with those jokers. I am amazed how he has been able to restrain himself (both today and since he got here) in dealing with these guys. I would have lost my temper a long time ago. Of course, it is obvious that is what some of these guys are trying to do. -

Many in the Buffalo media completely embarrass themselves. They are the proverbial people who dish it out but cannot take it themselves. -
CBS: Rex could be fired, TT benched Monday with loss
Peter replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
La Canfora is horrible and obviously pushing an agenda - probably on behalf of someone as he did with the Marrone being hired by the Jets stuff that he presumably did for Jimmy Sexton. He also seems to have it in for Rex in a way that suggest that it is personal. I agree with Peter King. Whether you like Rex or not (I like Rex), firing him is NOT a good look and reinforces the notion that HC of the Bills is not a good job. If the Bills were to fire Rex, I would be surprised if we were able to hire a real top tier candidate unless they overpay the guy. Which top tier guy wants to go to a job where the shelf life is two years even when the HC has been undercut by substandard QB play, numerous injuries, and suspensions. Be careful what you wish for Rex Haters. -
We did. His QB was worse than ours.
-
"Every time." We have beaten him 2 out of 3 in the past two years.

Ihedigbo placed on IR - Oy Vey the Safety position
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Indeed. -
Interestingly, the Bills defense has given up just 11 yards more per game (less than 3 yards difference per quarter) than the Saintly Jim Schwartz's Philly defense which (I have read here) has done Schwartzy things.

This is an article with the headline: "NY Jets coach Rex Ryan would welcome firing if Gang Green fails to make over offense" Is there anything in there where Tannenbaum throws Rex under the bus? -

Idzik yes. I do not recall any leak when Tannenbaum was the GM of the Jets where front office guys were attempting to throw Rex under the bus. -

Not really. As I am sure you know, the Jets fired Tannenbaum (with whom Rex had a great relationship) and hired Idzik who clearly had his own agenda by all accounts. -
Source: Anthony Lynn a potential candidate for Rams HC
Peter replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lynn has been a "candidate" many times before . . . including (as I recall) the Miami job most recently. -

They do happen . . . and they usually do not end well. -

Indeed. Except for one guy at each, we were poor to begin with and only got worse. -

How many safeties and WRs etc. have we been through? I know there are certain Rex haters who do not want to be bothered with how many injuries we have had etc. -
I agree.

It is obviously more complicated than that. Nevertheless, it is NEVER good when a coworker is scheming behind someone else's back - in any work environment. I am not saying it is Whaley, but if it were, it would be pretty dysfunctional if the GM (or anyone else in the front office) has been scheming since Vic's initial article to undermine the head coach of the football team. That is bad in itself and probably indicative of a whole lot more bad sh*t behind the scenes (if there is in fact a leak - I do not discount the possibility that La Canfora is making stuff up or stretching what he was told - the same with certain TBN guys). Just my two cents. -

You are correct. I have no idea who it is but whatever ownership decides to do, it should try to find out who this selfish person is and get rid of him. The funny thing is that this may turn out to be a case of you better watch out what you wish for. If this person is successful in getting Rex fired, it could turn into a situation where ownership concludes why don't we get rid of everyone and start over. I am not in favor of that, but it would be funny if Deep Throat gets thrown out the door. -

I have no idea what you do for a living but if doom and gloom were circling your job or your department or your company etc., it is not exactly the recipe for success. -
I also want Rex to stay for a lot of the reasons mentioned. I also think that anyone replacement who is in demand would not look favorably on the Bills giving Rex only two years (really less if recent reports are to be believed) even though Rex has been undercut by player injuries, suspensions, Mario going on strike, and a QB with respect to whom other teams say their strategy is to stop the run and make him try to be a QB (not exactly a ringing endorsement and no wonder given the results of the passing game)

Agreed. There is always the possibility that Jason La Canfora was making it up or playing fast and loose with the facts (he seems to have an agenda against Rex). Nevertheless, if the supposed source for him (or Vic or Tim Graham) re Rex is someone from the front office, that person needs to be immediately fired with extreme prejudice (if the Bills ever determine who it is). All this BS about Rex being on the hot seat (ever since Vic's initial article way back up until La Canfora's hit job minutes before kickoff this past Sunday) has really hurt the team and has torn apart the fan base. Whoever this person may be is selfish and only looking out for himself at the expense of the team. -

How about this: A whole hell of a lot more equal than it typically is when Brady is playing. -

I will play along: The Pats won . . . except when they played Rex and the Bills and the QB play was about equal. The Cowboys are a better team and probably have the best offensive line in football. The Packers have one more win than we do . . . and Aaron Rodgers is in a different stratosphere than TT. -

Interesting. If all of this is true (and I am not sure at this point), it seems as though the "front office" is attempting to throw Rex under the bus to save themselves and create momentum for this. Hmmm. The "front office" guys who are spreading this (if in fact they are) better be careful . . . this may all backfire on them. As for me, I am not in favor of firing our head coach (Rex or anyone else) after just two years. As for Rex, I believe he has been undercut by a number of different factors (injuries, suspensions, Mario on strike, inferior QB play). I also do not think it is a good look to fire a guy after just two years if you expect to hire someone else of quality to replace the current coach. Finally, it does not seem like the Pegulas' style (given their history) to fire Rex after just a couple of years. If they end up letting Rex go, this would surprise me. I am not saying it is impossible but it would surprise me. Just my two cents. -

I agree that when Joe Chennelly is a reliable source, but I just checked his time lien since Jason La Canfora's hit piece came out on Sunday, and I do not see a tweet from Joe saying that Rex is out. Perhaps I am blind or he deleted it or there never was a tweet as such.
