Could it be that FJ doesn't get those carries because he's not fast enough to get to the hole from that far back? Trying to rationalize why CJ has a higher YPC is a joke. Who cares HOW he gets them? The point is that he DOES. And, by your own admission about CJ being faster, since Chan likes to frequently run a spread offense it makes sense to have CJ on the field more than FJ.

The angle certainly is the reason the call looks so bad. Look again and you can see that the ball is on this side of the chain, not directly in line with the chain/marker. So with the camera at an angle behind the marker and the ball on this side of the marker it will make it look like the ball is further away from the marker. You can test this out yourself. Take 2 pencils and line them up standing upright on their eraser directly in front of you with them touching each other. Now move the right one straight towards you about the width of the pencil. Now move your head a foot to the left and the right pencil will look like its not even with the other one. Now, that all said, I think that where they marked it was about half a football ahead of where it should've been marked. So although it looks like the call was bad, it was actually just a bad spot. Either way, we still got screwed.

Not sure if that would be true but surely Losman would've been better. I think this has a lot to do with why Buddy hasn't brought in a young QB. He wanted to build the line and have some quality receivers here before throwing a rookie into the fire. I think that's smart but Buddy might've waited a year later than he needed to. The players on offense are good enough this year to help a rookie succeed. If Buddy foregoes drafting a QB early next year then he deserves a ton of heat (if not walking papers). We need a real QB if we are ever going to get beyond this mediocrity.

Unfortunately Brooks is out until week 8.

Expect Belicheat to stack the D to stop the run and try to force the game on Fitz' shoulders. But I think no matter who our RB's are this week, our O-line will outman the Pats* and we'll be able to run anyway.

I think White's main problem is the same as what Spiller's was originally. That is, picking up blitzers. So Gailey gives up some speed, and probably productivity, in order to play it safe in protecting Fitz.

I think Freddy and CJ were told to say they might play this week just so the Pats* have to gameplan for them. Now maybe one or both will be ready (and let's hope so) but I think this is more about making things harder for Belicheat.

Maybe try some place in Canada. They do sell NFL merchandise up there but maybe their screenprint shops won't be as skittish.
