  1. For those of us who follow on Sal on his internet show, I can't agree more. He does a terrific job calling it as he sees it, whether it's good or bad. To think, not even a year ago he left his job in Florida as a teacher; he and his wife made a blind jump to move to Buffalo without any job prospects lined up. His wife found a job in her profession and we've been fortunate that WGR has given him a chance. I only see his role in the Buffalo media growing until he's the premier sports journalist in WNY.
  2. It was discussed in the Official Mario Williams Thread on Tuesday afternoon once it was confirmed he was visiting.
  3. This "sky is falling" sentiment with Mario and, to a lesser degree, Robert Meacham: "If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ5ob9B9yD4 Or this:Where or where? Have a little faith that the Bills are trying to bring in FAs to make them winners again. Patience is a virtue.
  4. Buddy: "Y'know, Burt Reynolds let me borrow this leather jacket in 1983." (he then slips a swig of moonshine from the flask he had tucked in his pocket)
  5. Hopefully Mario isn't enamored with having #90 since Chris Kelsay has it. Gonna take a lot of money to pry it from his hands. First a 4/$24million contract and then the purchase of #90 by Super Mario. The rich keep getting richer.
  6. I can visualize Buddy sitting on the front porch at OBD with a whittlin' stick and sipping some moonshine, waiting for these guys to arrive for "courting".
  7. "If I'm lying, may my child be zapped with a thunderbolt. Yeah, that's the ticket!" Metzelaars and kabnt, I give you the benefit of the doubt. Let's see what happens..... BTW, didn't kab have the info on the new jerseys last year ahead of time? I seem to recall this.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fztlLwgSFCg When the USA shocked Russia, 4-3, at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics, Curt Chaplin was covering the game as a sports reporter for the ABC Radio Network. Standing on a camera platform in the crowd, he did play-by-play of the entire game into his tape recorder, capturing the event on tape forever. Now, after 25 years, these tapes have been rediscovered and matched to the video. The result is a dramatic, stirring and completely original experience for sports fans all over the world. Now you can relive the #1 sports upset of the 20th Century in a whole new way, through new eyes and a new voice. Still as fresh and exciting as the day it happened. Curt's call has been accepted as an exhibit by the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
  9. So, you won't consider "Nick In The 'Loo"? Seriously, congratulations to you. A remarkable journey to get to this point. Hopefully nothing but good times and great on-field results in 2012.
  10. Honey Trapper don't care how much hair your lady has down there.
  11. I recall Richard Christie front the Howard Stern Show talk about Caninus. Anybody into a dog fronting a metal band? Kinda takes what Pink Floyd did on Atom Heart Mother and kick it up a notch.
  12. I enjoyed the lazy schlub who still has his Christmas tree up.
  13. If anyone wants to go back and watch the Bills/Jags playoff game from '96, here's a playlist
  14. That's my fellow Saluki! Add in two University of Illinois players (Dave Diehl, Steve Weatherford) and Illinois was represented very well in Indy. Diehl came back to the U of I for a home game after they won SB XLII and was wearing his championship ring: large and gaudy would best describe it!
  15. Piece of trivia for you: The last team both Paterno and Bear Bryant beat? The University of Illinois.
  16. You mean to tell me you dress like Boy George to post here? Androgyny Anonymity
  17. Take a look at Audacity: Site I have limited exposure to it but a former co-worker used it for a lot of his audio work.
  18. Not quite. You mean the action-movie guy with the Austrian voice on the Simpsons, don't you?
  19. Ohhhh, Jaguars/Colts! So glad I have other resources to view the Bills game.
  20. I thought about skipping this week's broadcast but I don't dare cross The Moats.
  21. CBS and FOX can protect a certain number of games. According to WikiPedia: Fox and CBS each may protect a total of five Sunday afternoon games, not more than one per week, during weeks 11-16 and NBC selects which game they want to air. FOX and CBS cannot protect games in week 17.
