  1. They do need time to set up the room for the draft. Maybe that's part of the four days?
  2. Former pro wrestling announcer Jim Ross hosts The Ross Report on PodcastOne, with new episodes every Tuesday evening. I highly recommend it.
  3. Gawker has a recap of this week's episode (and they have recapped the others) in "Morning After": http://morningafter.gawker.com/silicon-valley-discovers-the-existence-of-women-1578590602 Great season so far and looking forward to how they fare at TechCrunch in two weeks. It was a nice touch to write off Peter Gregory as being on a safari with Kanye but I wonder if they will address his absence anymore or just stop mentioning him. The last two episodes have made me laugh harder than I have in quite some time. It's really fun watching the show.
  4. Each of the characters is brilliant in their own way but I find Gilfoyle my favorite. Erlich is right up there, especially with the whole mural/garage door thing.
  5. I did some searching on Christopher Evan Welch after catching up on the episodes last night. All in all it's been a great show. I'm glad I received three months of HBO for free from DirecTV which has allowed me to watch season one.
  6. I've been catching up with recorded episodes and am completing "Signaling Risk". The whole garage storyline has me in tears from laughter! And when Gilfoyle offers up a "story" to Jared during Scrum it was hilarious. This is a brilliant series; is there anything Mike Judge has done that hasn't been excellent?
  7. Just came across this show tonight. I caught half of "Articles of Incorporation" and found it funny. I'll be checking out the first two episodes when they re-air Wednesday night.
  8. Colbert is retiring his Comedy Central character, according to this Wall Street Journal article: http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303603904579493531867866814?mod=e2tw
  9. I've been big on Led Zeppelin since I was a kid. Just within the last few years I've discovered their live shows (audio and video, via torrents; thanks Mr. Info!) that renewed my passion for the band and has me looking forward to the remastered sets coming out in June, which feature some unreleased live shows (10/10/69 from the Olympia in Paris). Since many people have heard Led Zeppelin's studio music I recommend seeking out some of their live material. "How the West Was Won" is a perfect example of Zep caught live on a great night.
  10. I can't add any more to what's been said so far. I'm so sorry for your loss. Please try to stay strong.
  11. Yep, this is the coach at my alma mater. Barry Hinson is a passionate man; he used to be Head Coach at Southwest Missouri State and served on Bill Self's staff at Kansas for a few years before accepting the job at Southern Illinois. This program had fallen apart the last few years with academic and eligibility issues. Hinson is trying hard to turn around a once-great (for a "mid-major") basketball team and make them respectable again but he doesn't have the talent to do it yet. The kids aren't buying into him yet and last night's comments were out of frustration. As his wife told the Dan Patrick Show this morning he really has no filter for what comes out of his mouth. I believe he's a good coach that can get the program turned around but I think this may damage his relationship with the players beyond repair. If nothing else it got a little buzz going for a basketball team that's 2-8 and going nowhere fast. We shall see if this affects recruiting at all.
  12. This Oiler team had a run of poor playoff performances then. The '91 season ended in Denver; they were ahead but Elway led that comeback from his own 2-yard line (again), converting a couple of 4th downs to get into field goal range for David Treadwell to hit the game winner with little room to spare- 26-24. The '92 season was stopped by the Bills in the Wild Card comeback; and the '93 season was documented with Montana leading the Chiefs to a comeback win in the Astrodome (What I remember most about that game was Montana had a ruptured Bursa Sac on his throwing elbow and it looked like a golf ball was stuck under his skin). The Bills have had some terrible luck over the years but Houston had that three-year stretch that must have been agonizing for their fans; two different eras of Oiler football that couldn't win the big one and get to the Super Bowl (Bum, Pastorini and Earl Campbell in the late-'70s).
  13. I'll put in a word for an all-time Christmas classic from '88: Die Hard. What more could you want? It has action, adventure, a little blood-letting, romance and even some snow (what do you think Harry Ellis snorts up his nose?). All-around fun for the whole family!
  14. I watched this PBS show on the assassination: http://video.pbs.org/video/2365118537/ I think this has a lot of evidence to support Oswald could get off these shots and do the damage they did. They go into great detail about the gun, the barrel of the gun and the entry-and-exit wounds the rifle could create, all similar to the wounds Connally and Kennedy suffered (Single Bullet Theory). As a teenager I read some of the conspiracy books and believed it was possible. Now, as I'm older, I'm more convinced Oswald was the lone shooter. It's not as sexy to think there was no cover-up or conspiracy; this was a radical man who killed two people (JFK, JD Tippit) and seriously wounded a third (Connally) on that day. Just my opinion.
  15. There doesn't appear to be a thread about this in OTW yet, so here goes: http://video.bobdylan.com/desktop.html Get creative with your own video.
  16. Whoah. Anything to get out of a ticket, I suppose!
  17. Not sure if this has been posted before (I just came across it about a week ago) but someone took Dolly Parton's version of "Jolene" and slowed it down. Really gives it a haunting tone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzYHllLv_IE
  18. So he's a Jim Kelly fan dating back to his USFL days?
  19. I am in tears laughing at some of their Tweets and replies. A must follow in my opinion. I should be surprised people don't proof their Tweets but I'm not.
  20. If you don't have Sirius/XM and want to listen to other games a good option is TuneIn Radio. I've found quite a few stations that broadcast games there: Chargers, Niners just to name a couple. You may have to search a little for them because some (most?) stations black out the games- I could be wrong. I'm not sure if Dial Global (formerly Westwood One) has a channel on TuneIn but they still do national broadcasts, too.
  21. Happy birthday JBoyst! Enjoy the weekend.
  22. Congratulations, Beersphere. May the good times be just beginning this weekend.
  23. Yes, doesn't seem to work for me on different browsers. I wonder if they took it down?
  24. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-2/C-G-Doug-Legursky-signed-by-Bills/ab5cc8fa-da78-4b75-9969-cebc88232ba9?campaign=tw_buf_article I really like this move.
