TOD 7/26: REX - love or hate him?
Best Player Available replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For some reason. It's easier today to picture,The Rex & Rob football hour presented by papa Johns. Than a parade down Main street with Rex hoisting the Lombardi................ -

Best bands you've never heard of...

As good as the netflix doc is it still doesn't do the guy musical contributions justice. before he decided to become homeless, he was living on different people's couches in Marin county. he for awhile would play Wednesday nights in Tiburon at a place called the cove. very small unannounced gigs usually jamming with nobody's. Maybe 50 people tops in the audience. These shows were epic with him doing everythng from the Beatles. WR to his own version of happy birthday. easy guy to like and BS with. he would while totally drunk play better than well most bass can play at all. Also saw him 86ed at the Stone in SF for being a jerk. Literally knocking the drummers kit over. Sad ending for a friggin genius on the Bass. HIs Joni stuff is legendary. HIs first solo album pre weather report is still one of the best albums and a clinic on how to play a bass. -

Rory left this planet way too early. Once when Jimi Hendrix was asked " what's it like to be the besst guitarist in the world?" His reply was " I wouldn't know you would have to ask Rory Gallagher". Rory was a true bluesman and his often introduced "interpretations" of blues standards were sometimes better than the original recordings. RIP -

The scariest part of the upcoming 2016 season

Tyrod was announced the starting QB on 8/31/15 after a entire camp of earning it. Then as a starter his record was 8-6. so he won more than he lost. Enough too get him in as a pro bowl alternate. For a Buffalo QB even in that glorifed scrimmage that is big. granted he tossed more int's than most but he just may be the future for this long suffering franchise who in the past decades has been clueless on who can replace Jimbo. -

ISn't the NYS Uber situation more of a taxi union thing? personally I never heard of anyone having a bad Uber experience, in contrast to NYC cab rides at times. Just the convenience alone is outstanding with uber. -
is Dunne a Buffalo native? if not I guess you cannot fault him for a gig in more of a National spotlight (if only but a little) . But it's hard to see much of a money bump for him though. Ultra competitive Field these days. IIRC The best of them all Larry Felser had bigger better job opportunities elsewhere but always turned them down. i think he may have wrote that in his book.

TOD: 7/16: Shady, good trade and contract?
Best Player Available replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
^^^ This comment pretty much sums it up. great back but a costly extension. Didn't like his behavior on more than one occasion. Both on the field (eagles game) and his other more questionable off field antics. here is to hoping he at least earns his gameday checks all season -
Tight end? maybe running back could be worse? between Shady's hamstrng, a overweight promising 2nd year back, a drunken rook. maybe the Ryan Bro's and their visionary expertise should get Kiko back and build a backfield of Kiko and Baby Gronk!

A Look Back at the Stevie Johnson Trade

Agreed. Apparently Watkins also needs to shut some up too. -
Not my thing. And on the surface it looks as you describe. That Said on the tube yesterday. There have already been at least two armed robbery's when someone shows up somewhere semi-remote to end up staring down the barrell of a gun, and robbed. Society is to effed up for this stuff. maybe 50 years ago in simpler times when kids could actually go out unescorted and play. of course sports, and exercise was the norm. No one needed to have their face buried in a i-phone 18 hours a day looking for harmless fun.

No, I think the Bills would like to keep him. But him playing injured last year, playing under at least three different starting QB's (orton, ej, TT) and not getting a chance to gel or get in a rhythm has stunted his Development. he's a gamer. he is one of the guys I look forward to watching this year. it could be a breakout season for him. Then what? IMO if they do not extend him early and he hits FA he is gone. Someone will pay silly money for a starting #2. And the cash strapped Bills will not be in the bidding. They publically state all the time Tyrod & Gilmore are " priority's". Another home grown talent could hit the road. IIRC Woods was a starter since day 1 as a rookie. teams will see his value. regardless of his less than stellar stats so far in his career. Put him on a team like the Packers with the discount double check guy and I think you see a completely different Robert Woods. No slight to Tyrod intended either. And Yes Whaley seems to make poorly executed comments on a somewhat regular basis. But they can be walked back, something he also does with some regularity. Unlike the HC........

What's next for technology?
Best Player Available replied to Juror#8's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Sensor technology is a wide open field. for instance It is used in robotics for just a single example. Knowing when to stop tigheting screws on widgets if the assembly line goes down utilizes simple sensors. Another example is calcularing distance. Or In a smart watch sensors are used to Say calculate BP, pulse, heart rate etc. Soon calculating ones blood sugar will become readily available. All using sensors. Granted there are many different types of this technology again measuring your BP and calculating how fast a oncoming vechicle is approaching are two very different types of this technology. But they are used in a lot of things including NASA, medical, commercial, Video, etc. -
Interesting. I guess if you add in say a couple of employees to log the video, archive, back- up, etc. it can start to get costly. But the actual cameras and more so even the memory. Doesn't seem to be a huge cost. I bet Nick Woodman ( GO- Pro)could Do a good job on body cameras for anyone but in particular law enforcement. i am constantly amazed at how cheap memory for Devices continues to get bigger, better, & cheaper.

What's next for technology?
Best Player Available replied to Juror#8's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Sensor technology while being used more all the time (smart watches, autos, etc). is still in it's infancy. A lot of new products and many in the medical field will arrive constantly as the technology improves, and The technology comes down in costs. -
Yea, at a grand each while still high is at least a somewhat realistic price. (Political corruption aside). Unaware of any body cameras at a pricepoint of 5K. Absurd. But if a link is available I would lve to see what makes a body camera sell for 5K?

Forget Hard Knocks..........

Arians appeared to be OK with retirement. Then got the call. But in hindsight what a hire he might have been by OBD. Think him and Wade as DC. IMO the team would way ahead of where they are now. -
