Bruce..on Sacramento radio this afternoon
Mr Info replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw Bruce with his family about a month ago at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. Actually, my brother-in-law (a Jets fan) recognized him first. Bruce was wearing a Va Tech baseball cap. I went over and, when he was not busy, congratulated him on the upcoming game where he would be placed on the Wall at RWS. He was very cordial and low-key and thanked me. He said it was always nice to see Bills fans. He still looks like he could play. -
Pink Floyd's Richard Wright has passed from cancer
Mr Info replied to duey's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Thank you for posting this. Long-time Floyd fan and recently I was taking time to appreciate some of Wright's early work on SoS, etc. Thanks, Rick. IMO, Floyd's best work was when they were all contributing. -
Upcoming Concert alerts for Richmond area folks
Mr Info replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
We'll be at Weir's show. We have seen most of the others already this year. -
The Motels' set was short but they sounded good. The B-52s were fun as usual - Fred seems to enjoy himself when he's out there. I saw them earlier this year at the National and that was a good time, too.
-
Southwest, I presume. We are flying out at 09:40 so maybe we will see you (A couple with two boys 12 and 13). I hope the storm pushes out to the Atlantic before any damage.
-
Outstanding!!! An amazing accomplishment considering what you were doing just 4 months ago. I was there, too, with the family and would have bought you some of those after-race curls as we stayed to watch the B-52s on the beach.

Official "I will be at the Tailgate" thread
Mr Info replied to Just Jack's topic in TBD Annual Tailgate (TBDAHOT)'s Topics
My wife, Monique, two sons, Christopher and William, and myself will be at the tailgate and going to the game. I expect two of my sisters who live locally to also meet us at the tailgate though they are not going to the game. I will send the coin now - how much and to whom should I send it for 6 people? Jack - I know you mentioned collecting it at the tailgate but it's always good to have the $ beforehand when making purchases. -
True, dat Ordered the tailgate shirts for the family from Cindy See you there, Syd ....fellow Richmonders, have a great time watching the victory at plenz's party zone

The Pinto Kenny experience.

Cindy, 2 S 1 L 1 S ladies-cut Expect a PM from me shortly to send a check. I would like to pick them up at the Tailgate if that's OK. Thanks much for doing this again. Wear those shirts around here proudly and always get lots of recognition from displaced WNYs. Tony

Saw them when they opened the National with the Radiators earlier this year. It was a great show and I also saw them at Allgood last year and they were excellent that night as well. We won't be there next Wed. as we will be out of town. It should be a good show. Did you catch STS9 and Umphrey's McGee at Innsbrook a couple of weeks ago? It was a good jam. We met a couple of guys from Buffalo who were returning from Allgood to catch them again. They got busted for pot in a parking lot at Innsbrook. But the cops took their weed and let them go...told them they were lucky they were not put in jail.

Our local reviewer thought it was great until the last 30 minutes "The problem with the last half-hour is that movie builds up to its natural climax, which occurs around the two-hour mark, and then it keeps going. Everything after that first ending feels unnecessarily tacked on, especially when it spins off into peculiar directions. The story, which until then makes sense, becomes considerably less comprehensible. Cross-cutting between scenes is handled ineptly. The performers suddenly begin to overact. Character motivations change. And worst of all for a comic-book movie, the pace drags and it becomes dull. Even the Joker becomes tiresome. You'd be better off missing the last 30 minutes. If you leave when you first feel like you should, the experience will be nothing but terrific." True dat?

But the text did say "In hot weather, compressors have to work overtime to keep food frozen", indicating that more energy would be consumed as the compressor cycles more frequently in hot weather. In any case, this link speaks more directly to energy consumption in refrigerators and freezers.

My .02: Most anyone who puts their pic on an ad is hoping their image promotes some kind of comfort with the consumer. Also, someone may wish to tout your experience in a particular market and a picture can demonstrate that. There is a lot of data (I am not going to link) that a pleasant look is preferable to nasty-looking and the consumer will choose accordingly. I am somewhat amazed at the pictures people are willing to post. I guess they have a mistaken impression that they are good-looking. After all, most people post on dating sites/ads that they are nice looking. Sometimes, there may be confusion over gender with a unisex name (i.e., 'Chris', 'Ryan', etc.). Hopefully, a picture clears that up.

Honda discontinued its Accord hybrid due to its mpg being only slightly better than the non-hybrid model and being low when compared to other hybrids. It did not pertain to its complexity or component failure.

We have a couple of openings. PM me if interested. I would need to know more about you before I would commit to a referral. These are tough times for hiring in the pharma area. There used to be many more on our site. (near Philly) A Master's Degree in a field of science with a minimum of 4 years relevant academic or pharmaceutical laboratory experience or a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years relevant laboratory experience. Knowledge of principles of drug metabolism. Knowledge and experience in metabolism studies in vitro and in vivo, radiation safety and radiometric analysis. Experience in assay/instrument troubleshooting. (Sanford, NC) BS or MS in life/physical sciences (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology). Relevant experience may compensate for lack of graduate degree. Training on cGMP for laboratory operations, ICH and other regulatory guidelines related to method validation. Method-specific training prior to execution of laboratory studies. Training in statistical analysis and technical writing.

Pooj, For new sneaks, check out The RoadRunner Store in Carytown. The owner, Thom, is a great runner and a good guy. Even if he is not there, his staff is good. Explain that you need a proper shoe and they will watch you run and suggest a sneaker for you. Bring in a pair of used sneaks so they can see the wear on the sole. You will pay a little more here but you will get assistance and service. I would probably wait and get your physician's opinion on your feet/gait before visiting their store.

Jeremy Bentham "As requested in his will, his body was preserved and stored in a wooden cabinet, termed his "Auto-icon". Originally kept by his disciple Dr. Southwood Smith, it was acquired by University College London in 1850. The Auto-icon is kept on public display at the end of the South Cloisters in the main building of the College. For the 100th and 150th anniversaries of the college, the Auto-icon was brought to the meeting of the College Council, where he was listed as "present but not voting". Tradition holds that if the council's vote on any motion is tied, the auto-icon always breaks the tie by voting in favour of the motion. The Auto-icon has always had a wax head, as Bentham's head was badly damaged in the preservation process. The real head was displayed in the same case for many years, but became the target of repeated pranks by King's College London students including being stolen on more than one occasion. It is now locked away securely."
