  1. Rich - this is the second time you mentioned that to me and I apologize for not following up. I will PM you.
  2. Yet another reason to park at Hammer's Lot. A busload of Lee's family and friends from his hometown outside of Cleveland parked at Hammers. Lee was out relatively quickly after the game and came over to the lot. I was playing catch with my son and Hammer came over and queued me about Lee being over there and mentioned that it would be a good idea for my son to get an autograph. [Thanks, Hammer] So, my son took his game ticket over and Lee was very gracious and signed it. I went over and spoke to some of his friends while my son got the autograph. Lee seems like a genuine nice guy. For the first time ever, and I am certain it will never be repeated, I was the first car at the Hammer Lot. I even beat Hammer there by a minute or two. My son and I also made it in time for the Pinto Kenny spectacle. Unsure if I should have exposed an impressionistic young mind to that. My son had a big look of "Why?" after seeing it. I wanted to comment on something positive about the game experience since there have been a lot of negative posts. But, I am unable to stop myself from making an observation that you can see at the game on the spread field that is not apparent on the TV. And that is that there are open receivers away from where JP is throwing on quite a few of the pass plays. This is not a profound observation and I am not calling to remove JP. But, I'll bet some of these receivers are frustrated at working to get themselves open.
  3. Did you see the Cheese when they were at the Fairgrounds in August this year as part of that festival show? Good show but the local promoter went belly-up he lost so much $.
  4. A bit obscure but, nonetheless, our team shows up again in the Wall Street Journal. In the weekend section, the wine column discusses New York Reislings and there is a sketch of someone working at a vintner with a Buffalo Bills t-shirt on. The new charging Bills emblem is on the front of the shirt. Subtle but cool. Better if the throwback Bill was on it.
  5. My son, William, and I will be flying up for the game. Sold my opener season tix to Dr. Fong so this is the opener for me. Plan to park at Hammer's but I have to show Kenny's setup to my boy, who has never had the privilege of viewing it.
  6. I am a season ticket holder but live 500 miles away and try to sell my tix right here on TBD if I cannot go to a game. I sell them at cost to a fellow Bills fan but sometimes there is no response. So, I sell them at a premium to the other team.
  7. Yeah, we got one: Takeo. And if we won the Super Bowl, they might give us one more insignificant clip in the following year's football opener halftime song. What adds to us getting boned in that video is all the flak I am getting from fans of other teams about the BK commercial.
  8. c'mon - the read was entertaining until those last 5 words.
  9. Good thing it wasn't on. Don't watch the repeat, it'll be a waste of 3 hours.
  10. Recent updates to the blog are frightening.
  11. WWLTV blog For those wanting to know more. It is the CBS affiliate.
  12. I am in your area and we just came back from France & Italy through Dulles (IAD). I checked RIC, IAD, DCA, PHF, and BWI and the best overall cost/efficiency was through IAD. But, as one previous poster mentioned, it depends on your final destination. I could have paid nearly the same to fly out of RIC but I would have had one more stop in the US (because no direct from RIC) with another stop in Paris, Milan, London or Amsterdam before our final destination. Dulles was direct to CDG and had a much shorter total travel time because no extra stop and even figuring in the 2 hour trip to IAD. And long-term parking is cheaper at IAD than RIC. But now, the price of gas adds another factor, besides time, into the equation. You might try Sidestep, Mobissimo, etc., where you can quickly switch or expand airport departure/arrival locations.
  13. First, all my hope and prayers go to the folks affected by Katrina. I no longer live in WNY not because I do not like snow - I ski whenever I have the chance. But I do not like snow (or cold) 4-5 months a year. I live in central VA and we have had bouts with hurricanes, tornados, and ice storms, but fortunately, where we live it has only resulted in minor inconveniences. For us, trading these potential risks against the guarantee of 4-5 months of cold & snow every year was a relatively easy decision to make.
  14. Great stuff Mark, thanks. Your report on TD made me recall about three years ago when I had an opportunity to speak with him one-on-one at training camp. He was all public relations but his piercing blue eyes look right through you. Though our conversation was brief, he made quite an impression on me.
  15. I think MM is not as willing to utilize this position as his predecessor. I apologize but it was a tough read. In another life I was an editor.
  16. We returned a few days ago from another great vacation. We went to Corsica for 10 days and the views, beaches, hikes, food, etc. were outstanding. It is an out-of-the way place and not your typical tourist destination - we only saw one American while we were there. We stayed in Tiuccia which is away from everything but the beach. We return every year because we have family there. If you can converse in French or Italian, it is much easier to visit but the more intrepid souls will enjoy even if you are unable to speak either of these languages.
  17. Mark, Congrats on the new addition to your family! Tony
  18. Maybe it is the fried cow brain sandwiches.
  19. Hate is a strong word. Have you had the opportunity to know any people from France? Have you spent any time there? Have you purchased Michelin tires? Do you own any RCA or GE consumer electronics (under Tompson SA of France). I could list many more. I am in Corsica right now staying with some of my extended family on vacation. Fortunately, I have the opportunity to meet and speak with quite a number of very personable, engaging, and thoughtful citizens of the island and mainland. Certainly there are jerks in any nation but it might be short-sighted to make a gross generalization such as you have. Certainly, I disagree with some of the French political views but that is also true for my homeland, the USA. However, applying deductive reasoning that hate equates to a disagreement with someone or some political view seems a bit unusual.
  20. Thanks for thinking about me guys but I am in Corsica for a couple of weeks and will have to follow through updates in the Chat Room.
