  1. I didn't know Willis did that during the game... Can you describe the situation a little bit more?
  2. I agree with you. Now we all see the complexity of the situation. If there is a team out there who sees his ability and downplays the injury factor, then we (as ICE suggests) may be able to atleast get something for him by going the franchise route.
  3. considering there are 64 starting tackles in the league, I'd say he's above average. If you're talking purely left tackles (which doesn't really make as much difference as it used to considering formation shifts) and you have him at 11-20, I can see your point. One other tthought on this IMO is that there are @ 20 above average starting left tackles in the league right now. I guess it's all how you look at it. I'd probably rank him @ 18-20 of all starting tackles in the league.
  4. nope. that is the easy choice for a lazy detractor. He played with a bum leg and was still suffering the effects of a concussion. My point was made and included the words "when healthy".
  5. Well it's kinda complicated because really the only reason he's considered average is because of the frequent injuries. Otherwise he has shown that when healthy he is above average at both pass and run blocking. He is (when healthy) often left on an island and has faired quite well vs. some of the better pass rushers in the game.
  6. True, but for one year it wouldn't kill us...
  7. I would not be opposed to the Bills using the tag on JJ. As stated it would surely be a way to recoup something for him if indeed he does want to leave.
  8. Agreed Campy! It's fun when you can take the "politics" out of it and just talk about the game itself. It's always exciting to find such posts, rare as they may be. My problem is allowing myself to get caught up in the back and forth BS and then adding to the crap that is already out there.
  9. The way I see it, many of these frequent "passionate" slams on our team come from assumptions that fans make that are simply unfounded. Mind you, I agree that opinions are everyone's right to express. It just seems that having an opinion that can be proven makes more sense. Some examples of these unfounded passions: - The GM is somehow not trying to do everything in his power to make the team better and lets EGO get in the way of decisions. - You know more than ___________ (insert coach/staff member here) about the game or who should be ____________ (starting/fired/cut) - ___________ (insert player's name) sucks! ......... (followed by zero examples of what qualifies as sucking and/or game examples of said suckiness) These are just a few of many typical rants. Now I understand that there are also plenty of complaints that can be debated fairly from both angles, but these atleast personally are the ones that "get me going" as a Bills fan anyway.
  10. Sush!, you pencil necked geek who probably never played the game!
  11. Ha! It didn't take you very long to find this one! I had the over/under on 15 minutes
  12. Passion is good at times but also often gets in the way of intellect and objectivity.
  13. Nice. A little objectivity goes a long way for establishing credibility in future posts as well.
  14. Here we have it!! Winner of todays worst attempt to make a point while unknowingly supporting the argument opposite of the point you're trying to make! Well Done
  15. LOL ICE, believe it or not, you yourself have actually at times posted many thoughts of value IMO. Just not this time
  16. I agree and I know that Pat loves it here in Buffalo. Hopefully he'll be willing to sign for a fair amount. The very good play of Mr. Edwards recently would not be possible without the constant leaning provided by Pat and Sam. I still consider PW to be our best defensive player. It's not really a statistically based thing only. It's also much about the attention paid to him by the opponent. BTW, Nice post Bill (I liked the one about Krumrie too)....
  17. Bannan was actually used as the LG yesterday, not even as an H-back. It was the funniest thing I could imagine as well, but he did ok (he blocked well on the one TD run anyway). Shelton actually did REALLY well on the one drive where Willis had like 4 carries for 55 yards. He is still poor when left in for pass blocking though...
  18. Congrats Rudy! You just made the ignore list (after this post). I should've done it long ago.
  19. We are not better than Seattle but our defense and special teams certainly is.
  20. I save those for responses to posts that actually have value
  21. I agree with the posters who say we should put a retired player up their, considering what it has done for Drew and Travis ;-)
