  1. The best part is knowing that we are now a better team than the Jets. Too bad it took 5 games to get there though.
  2. I was 22 and there with my Dad. He pleaded and pleaded with me try to get me to agree to leave the game. Then I reminded him of the Roland Hooks Hail Mary game vs. the Pats that we left early for and regreted. He still wanted to leave.... I finally convinced him to stay only because he had spent so much on the tix and the fact that we had nothing better going on at the time anyway. Boy was he glad we stayed!
  3. Shush D.O.D. , you make too much sense...
  4. I couldn't have said it better myself.
  5. Exactly, BUT that (whining) is NOT something he is doing NOW. Get it? Read my post again if needed.
  6. Va, very ICE like of you In all seriousness, you were indeed correct on all counts and should be commended for that. I have always just felt (and still do) that though you're points on TH were valid, they were often exaggerated beyond "REAL".
  7. It's not the first time, as MM reported on his show, he ran it @ 4 years ago. It's very cool he hung on to it though
  8. On the Mularkey radio show Monday night he reported that "they" (I'm assuming he and Clements) have had that play available for a number of years, back to their time together in Pitt. He said that they ran it once approximately 4 years ago successfully, and that it was a matter of getting just the right look from the defense in order to pull it off.
  9. You are so full of crap sometimes it's not even funny. His attitude sucks? He doesn't give a sh--? Sorry but he's been supportive all year, and kept his mouth shut on the bench. MM has reported numerous times how he has participated in practice as if he was going to start. Of course you are not going to see "third quarter" Travis when he steps onto the field for one play here, one play there. He has lost his position to the better back, and he has taken that like a man. And if/when he begins to complain about it after the season, he will have every right to.
  10. Good God!, with all due respect cincy I believe young Willis is already thrice the running back that big Keith ever was. An effective and functional utility player he was, yes. I'll give him that.
  11. Nice post Bill. It's really a good feeling to finally have a capable O-line coach.
  12. Thankyou, see above post You explained it better ...
  13. Given all the correct info already provided about recovering from knee injuries, etc., I still say that he is (Right Now) a lot faster than most of you think. Watch the fake QB sneak with respect to the angles of the defenders. Watch the long run vs. the Rams. He is a tall back with long, smooth strides. Will he yet improve his speed? Yes. I just think his speed is already a bit deceiving.
  14. Well I suppose over the course of a season that arguement would hold water, not so much on a game by game account. With that said, a coach's eye is still different and I'm sure there is a player or ten out there that many perceive as a "great" player both visually and statistically who really is benefiting from strong play at another position, or vice versa.
  15. That's true, but there are many many more important and general things that cannot be statistically measured as well and never will, like: Was the pass completion a correct read progression or was it forced in.? Did the halfback make those three yards on his own, or did he stumble when he should have gained 3 more? Did the WR run a good route or did he misread the safety? Did the quarterbook pull his teammates together in that two minute drive and instill confidence in them?
  16. I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not but you nailed the key word. "Support", NOT "prove"....
  17. Poor Move IMHO. To me Ty has always been a very good coach and has his players playing above their talent level. The recruiting issues are alot bigger than the head coach alone. Hope he lands on his feet quickly....
  18. Nerds across the land can try and try and try some more til they're blue in the face but there is , nor ever will be , a true and completely fair way to rate ANY individual perfomance of ANY position on ANY NFL team based on statistics. It is a team sport through and through, and too often there are hidden factors that contribute to both the success and failures of any given player. The only true way to e v a l a player is on game film, by a qualified viewer, which none of us truly are. With that said, I still find some of these statistical breakdowns interesting and somewhat useful at times.
  19. I wish more of you would email him like I have and tell him how much he sucks as an "objective" media member. Good times!
  20. Yeah, there's sure a lot of credibility to that profound statement
  21. I agree, Edge is probably the best current comparison in the league, or MAYBE Duece Mcallister.
  22. If they overlook this game in any way (as with the others ahead) they WILL lose.
  23. I seem to remember a risky pick made in 1988 for a pretty decent runningback too
  24. A blowout win on the road across the entire country against a team leading their division deep into a season should never, ever, ever be considered "mediocre". That's just plain ridiculous. While being quite a Jeckle and Hyde team, the Hawks have plenty of talent and always had played well at home. Having the #1 rusher in the league is nothing to underestimate either.
