There is also no correlation between scoring low on the wonderlic and playing at a poor level, either. But smarter is always more preferable all things being equal.
-
I’m not saying it makes him a better at football or a better QB, just that the wonderlic requires faster prcocessing of information to do well on it. Just look at the list of QBs above who scored low and are in the HOF and those who scored high that never amounted to much, if anything. It’s also a just a snapshot in time.

It indicates he can process information relatively quickly.

GOAT discussions, from athletes to zookeepers and everything in between, while sometimes good food for thought, are ALWAYS futile. Gronk is a first ballot HOFer because he dominated his position in his era. Just like every other first ballot HOF tightend before him. They all have a seat at the table of the greatest. And it is a round table.

Beane Coming Up Next on PFT Live on NBCSN

Job number one! Shades of Polian who always preached winning your division is the first goal of the season. Great to hear this from Beane. -
Really? How can you tell?

John Mackey wrote the book, imo.

You mean a lot more time to LEARN to read.

F**k that classless a-hole. Normally, I’d wish any retiring player, especially great ones, to enjoy the rest of their lives. But not this jerk.

Unfortunately, you’re right. But it would go a long way with me and other long time suffering devoted fans if he got up in front of the cameras and said that, while honored to be considered, his first job is making the Sabres better and he won’t have time for anything else until that job is done. Corny, I know, but it’s true none the less. Specially when your team is historically bad. Instead, we can listen to his bull crap about how, even though it’s not reflected in the standings, the team has shown progress. I don’t know who is more full of it, him or Housely. Edit: I do know who is more full of it, it is Housley, hands down. I forgot about his postgame proclamation that “we should have won the game” last night. That they “played well enough to win” last night. This is the man leading this team. Laughable.

I’d rather have Zion Williamson. It’s been true for decades that all the great TEs are in the NBA.

I won’t belabor the point any longer, except to say Nylander was called up on 3/10 and played the next two games vs. Dallas and Pittsburgh without Eichel. That left Housley three full games to pair him with Eichel since; vs. Carolina, St. Louis, and Toronto. That’s three full games Eichel and Nylander could have and SHOULD have been paired up. Ridiculous it took that long.
