  1. Dude hasn’t earned a fricken thing in this league and he’s already proclaiming his greatness? I don’t care how good he is or how good he ends up being, his confidence has crossed the line into arrogance. Looking forward to his “welcome to the NFL” moment. Hopefully, he will be humbled.
  2. I appreciate where you’re coming from regarding a young player having to earn his spot. But not at this stage of a long lost season. You glean little to nothing about Nylander having him play with the likes of Sobotka. Regardless of Eichel’s suspension, he should have been on his line in practice. Regardless of the short time he’s been up, he should have been paired with superior complimentary offensive talent. Yes, he’s earned his call up, but there are other forwards having better seasons than him in Rochester who have also earned a look see. So why Nylander and why now? They have to see if he has top six potential going forward. Other teams needs to see that, too, should he become a piece of a hockey trade in the off season. This is an audition. And he should have been afforded the BEST opportunity to impress from the get go. Making him play with bottom six slugs, which is what our team is comprised of outside the top three at the moment, was the wrong thing to do. And while perhaps not such an egregious example, it further illustrates Housley’s lack of acumen, imo. We we will just have to agree to disagree on that point.
  3. What’s the point of that at this stage in this season, when the only reason to have Nylander called up at this stage is to see if he has top 6 potential. I submit that Housely can’t possibly ascertain that by playing him with Sobotka, which he did initially or anybody else not named Eichel for that matter. Instead, Housley insisted on imposing his ridiculous, “you’re a rookie and you have to earn your spot” bull crap, when the issue has nothing to do with credibility. What, was Housley going to lose the locker room by having this team’s top winger prospect leap frog some other bottom 6 slug on the team? Just another example of Housley’s clueless ability to have a finger on the pulse of this team, imo.
  4. Shoulda been there from the get go. Not because he’s anything special, but because you have to see what he has and the best way to see that is playing him with your best players. Housely has little grasp of the obvious.
  5. That was then? You make four years sound like he played in a leather helmet. I don’t consider the agility test times as “track numbers” but I agree that time in the trenches can have an adverse effect. Anyway, my post was a knock on Metcalf more than it was an endorsement of Fisher as some sort of athletic marvel. I did the same when we signed Morse, whose 20 yard shuttle was the same as Metcalf’s.
  6. Tragic. Add one more murder charge to the count as far as I’m concerned.
  7. He’s got athletic chops. Better 3-cone and 20 yard shuttle than Metcalf. And that was at 305 lbs at his combine.
  8. That’s San Francisco c###s##ker.
  9. Geez BF4, I had no idea of the depths of his mental condition. I feel for him and his family. I’m now gonna go punch myself in the face.
  10. His quitting upset the development plans for Mitts and forced Sobotka to get minutes he shouldn’t have gotten. I don’t know what impact his staying would have had in the record, perhaps none, but it was a negative factor, regardless. So do both. Thank him and then punch him in the face or vise versa. Reagedless, he deserves a punch in the face for putting the team on the spot.
  11. Good, they can go punch Berglund in his ungrateful face. Him quitting screwed up some plans this year for sure by forcing Mitts and Sobotka to play too many 2C minutes.
  12. Yeah, his entire post season draft process has looked good, I didn’t mean to exclude his Senior Bowl, where he dominated superior competition all week. And like I said, if McBeane and Co. are ok with him at 9, I’m ok with it, too. They’re gonna take the BPA and I wouldn’t be surprise if they consider him to be that.
  13. The tape is paramount and I haven’t seen enough to know one way or the other. That’s why I said “if” as I assume McBeane are doing their due diligence. I agree entirely about combine performances. They are only good for a snapshot of the athleticism, explosion, and strength required. Means little without the game tape and interviews to fill out the entire picture.
  14. Dillard had a helluva combine and if his tape backs up his athleticism and his interviews go well, I think he could be the first OT off the board. Taylor had a great combine as well and he wasn’t even at 100%. If McNeane and Co. are satisfied with either, I’d be ok with either as well. OT anchors for the bulk of Josh’s career.
  15. I can only imagine how much worse it will be when 2019 gets here.?
  16. Does Tim ever unfairly “challenge” followers on social media? Does he ever “cross a line” in civility while engaged in public discourse? He’s a terrific writer. Should probably stick to features, imo. But, and while I’ve never engaged him here or elsewhere, he can be just as big of a troll.
  17. If I may quote the erudite and estimable @The Senator : 19-0, baby!
  18. Another fine illustration of how far away this team is. Light years away from contending with the big dogs. Light. Years. But I’m sure Housley “liked our game.”
  19. Since the advent of the 82 game season, has any team gone a full half season without winning two games in a row? The Sabres sit at 40 games since their last two game streak and can achieve that dubious distinction tonight. Unbelievable.
  20. Buffalo Bandits say, “Hold my beer.”
  21. Indeed! But nobody will mess with you when you’re wearing your Brady snuggy.
  22. Not only embarrassed, but cowardly as well. That’s why I have a supply of other teams’ regalia so that when I travel, I can wear that instead. Like when I have to go to Boston for instance, I’m always sure to bring my Brady handwarmer and snuggy.
  23. If he stays healthy, I predict he will be the steal of the 2019 FA class.
