It’s funny how some are seeking to point to the success rate of the lowest percentage play in the game as some sort of important benchmark for quarterbacks to achieve. No QB has ever had a high completion percentage on these passes and it’s kind of absurd to quibble about percentages on such a low number attempts across the league. The fact is there are only a handful of QBs in that opposing DCs have to respect in that regard and Allen is one of them. The threat of stretching the field is what’s important here.

He didn’t run back inside, but it’s true he would not venture outside in the deep snow and drifts that buried his car over night. I know the person from OBD at the time who went to pick him up and get him to practice. He relayed how Parrish said it was the first time he’d experienced snow in his life, which is common for many south Florida players. Imagine never experiencing snow, going to sleep with no snow on the ground, and then waking up to a buried car under a blanket of snow. That might freak some people out a bit.

I don’t mind Jeremiah or Brooks, but what do they provide that’s better than Brandt? Do you think they see attributes in players that Brandt doesn’t see? If so, what kind?

How appropriate.

I’m interested in how the Bills respond to playing under the weight of raised expectations. It’s an entirely different kind of pressure. I think back to that ‘89 team that didn’t respond well at all, although the events of that season galvanized them for the success that followed. I’m confident, however, that we have more mature leadership at the key positions, though, so that should mitigate the issue.

Brandt introduced computers and the first analytics to the league way back when. A genuine innovator in that regard and other teams rapidly followed the Dallas model. His assessments are as solid as anyone who is not out in the field on any regular basis.

I’d have re-signed McKenzie just for this reason alone.

He’s no Mike Gillislee, so perhaps we need to temper our expectations.

Dahlin actually moved forward in attempting to retrieve the puck at the same time the Pen was accelerating forward, so the race was over at that point. Dahlin is not a speed skater, but he’s not slow either; he’s just average in that regard. His confidence appears to be shot though.

Every ref indeed. Firing a ref for doing what fans have witnessed forever won’t change a thing. The NHL is a joke in so many ways.

That’s a fair point, but every player on the team with enough ice time to fairly analyze is screwing the pooch this season. There are several players who deserve to be scratched more than Skinner.

With the advent of more advanced analytic tools to measure a player’s productivity in the ice, +/- has become an archaic stat that nobody puts much stock into nowadays.

I can see, if not definitively, why you could say the rest of the teams improved, but I’d like to know specifically what the Bills did to get worse. Especially considering we have the best player at the most important position. By far.
