  1. Private compaines used as a TPA for Government services is not new... the post office has been doing it for years.... The video half was through the comments is a riot... I am so glad I don't live like that, its sad
  2. Its interesting, wiritng that check is much more persuasive than just having it withheld or withdrawn. I think people would **** if they have $100,000 given to them in cash, and then asked unvoltarily to take out a chunk about 20% and give it someone else... I think most people would like to see SS be a true safety net program, meaning it helps Americans who truly need it live a dignified end to their lives. I think most people here would prefer to put money away for the retirement and not need SS, there fore over the decades maybe its not 80 Million going on the program, maybe is 15 Million. To just collect money so everybody int eh Nation gets a "Pension" is not really a safety net program, its a pension program. I probably won't need SS when I retire (based on my current savings trend), so do I really need a Federal Pension? If there were less people n the program, less tax would need to be collected... This is one of the reasons why I think it shoud be further means tested... were sending checks to people for spending/play money, that needs to be fixed... thats the issue with these programs, once they start, how do you humanely end them? Somebody is getting screwed out of decade of earnings, so they never come up for reform or significant changes.
  3. I like to think of the tax increases as a Nationwide Opportunity for all Americans. You see, fellow Americans, you are now starting to realize that it takes alot more than you were currently paying to fund your bloated, overeaching and spenathon government. If fact, you still are not paying the tab, and you are not even really close... maybe in a boom time with robust tax revenue, but right now not even close. I have always been an advocate of the American People being required to fund our Government dollar for dollar... I liek to think of it as Paygo, but in the end the Taxpayers has to pony up excesses and overruns... How quickly would Americans shut down most Non Cititical Government outlays if they actually had to pony up for them at the end of the year, or in the next year? You might think "heck, liberals wet dream!"... but in all honesty, other than super frontier left wingers, do most moderate left leaners love Spending, or so like tolerate the spending because it is borrowed money, not out of their paycheck?
  4. LOL! Like I have said before, i only need one stool updside down for me and my three queen buddies......
  5. I don't know, in a way I don't think the Government needs any more tools to manipulate us or the car market... that being said.... with the Government insistent in pushing Green Tech... Maybe let people put away repair money much like a HSA... Maybe its starts small, like a few hundred bucks but increases as the car depreciates... if you keep the car till zero value and you have money, maybe you can cash it out to do what you want with it, or put it into the purchase of the next car. Maybe couple it with a capped dectible tax amount- Heck, car dealers woudl make a killing on the service with that much demand, if they were willign to compete with the smaller garages... While I think hybrids and elelctric cars are pretty cool, they are overall not that Environmentally freindly once you take into account manufacturing, procesing and buidlinf the batteries, shipping them, disposal or recycling..
  6. First off, I am going to use that underlined portion somwhere, that is pretty funny. Second, when did Rob's House become all enthralled with "politeness?"
  7. MSNBC is a trainwreck. I watch is at the gym everyday, it is not even news, it is as biased as it comes. I watch Fox at work, and while they present most a Right lean, they at least let the people with opposing views come on a state their case... Chris Matthews just interrupts when he doesn't like what he hears... and Al Sharpton's segment is terrible too. MSNBC is about as biased as it gets, makes me thankful I don't have cable.
  8. They should re-name that article to: "Hey, come read aout someting obvious and stupid" So the premise was to get rid of gas guzzlers that were already manufactured, carbon footpring already stamped, and replace them with another carbon blueprint far before the useful life of the orginal vehicle was over? From an Green perspective, it would make better sense to give someone a tax deduction for every year they keep their car.. incent people too keep their cars as long as mechanically possible... but I am sure the labor unions would find issue wih that... lol
  9. The Bills said they were going to be exhaustive in the search... to me that signals no rush to sign anyone who is not the "fit" I just hope I don't turn on ESPN one morning and see the Bills hired some coach that was not even really mentioned in the process.... Gailey's hire kind of felt like that, he was just kinda hired...
  10. Yeah, I don't get the love for McCoy- he is a decent coach, but to be honest, the Broncos Offense is not that great until Manning is calling plays in the hurry up. I guess his claim to fame is adapting an offense to Tebow? Let me write up that game plan: 1. Run left 2. Run right 3. Run middle 4. Run all over the place 5. Attempt pass in 2nd quarter, dirt ball 6. Run in for Game Winning TD with 30 seconds left QB Stats: 4 Attempts, 2 Completions, 36 Runs, 185 yards- 1 Running TD That was hard to watch
  11. I actually support Nuclear Power, I think it would be a large step in the right direction- abundant, clean, safe, renewable and we have already built the facilities to store the waste. I am not a cap and trade supporter, but I do think the gradual move toward mass transit and public trasportation would go along away, so I do support infracstruture considerations in the equation- I recognize the issues with retrofitting our cities that are designed around the SOV are challenging, but if we need to upgrade infrastruture anyway, why not consider it is cleaner and saves people time and money?
  12. If I could buy personal health insurance prior to the Affordable Care Act, I would not have support another layer of Government regulation in healthcare... I have always been clear I voted for it based on specific personal health issues for myself and my wife. I've been in accident and gotten tickets from Driving my care, my insurance has gone up and I paid more... I got that.... why is it that I get sick, am willing to pay more because I am a bigger health risk, and I could never get any insurance coverage? Should I just be ruined is this country if I got sick again? I wasn't asking for a handout, only a way to manage risk... the ACA was the only action on Helthcare in the forseeable future, I jumped on board and supported it.. I am not denying it... maybe you will call me a hypocite for it, again, so be it. Other than healthcare, where I have I even indicated I am for Big Government? On LGBT issues, why does anybody care what two consenting adult wish to do with and to each other? I get their stance on abortion, in fact I agree with it- I'd prefer adoption, but it also seems logical to support bith control initiatives for kids.... abstinance only seems to work for ****ty NFL QBs that shoud be playing fullback... lol.... immigration, I don't think our borders and the rules that govern them should be "optional" for immigrants... my family came here, paid their dues, worked the process and became Americans... why should anyone be exempt from that? Side Note: I found out a few weeks ago my great grandparents were bootleggers, and my Grandmother used to answer the doors and deliver the products to customers from the basement.. she never mentioned that to anyone until she was about to pass... I guess she was always scared, and her brother blew all the money their made drinking.... what irony and through taxation on all properties we own, I am not expempt form the grit of the law either.
  13. Birth Control, lots of Birth Control.... There are too many people on the Earth, I can agree with that- The earth has an occupancy number, I am not sure what it is, but when that gets exceeded a correction will happen... I bet it won't be good (famine as we can no longer tech our ways to grow more, disease we cannot stay ahead of, etc.) We should consume less, produce less carbon emission, strive to use less... maybe it would change the Earth temperature maybe it wouldn't..... but isnt it at least with worth trying? Like human nature, I don't think we will do anything about though.... until perhaps its too far gone....
  14. I think there are ALOT of people who support equal treatment and right under law, than don't support a Welfare State.... Its probably more clear than we think.... heck, I'm there
  15. Everybody is a hypocrit most likely at some point in their lives... I didn't give a **** about inheritance taxes until I found out I was getting a nice inheritiance... I would now support protecting tax breaks on inheritances... I'll have a big hypocrit smile all over my face all the way to the bank.... So be it.
  16. While I don't disagree the path would be an uphill battle on a steep grade, if there is enough departure from the main parties and demand of the legitimacy of an addtional party, it can be changed... the R and D's are too comfortable and complacent in Washington, that is why both parties have failed the American people lately... I mean this is America, where in the compeition, why should 2 parties have the lock on the politics? People should demand better.....
  17. A private citizen who sold a company to avoid tax liabilties to a suitor who could afford to buy it and wished to do so...... oh the horror...... Does it really change the fact the earth is getting warmer and humans likely contribute?
  18. Very well stated. That new movement is not only attracting the conservatives who are tired of the old guard of the party, but drawing some centrist Democrats who aspire to fiscal conservative principles, but are "live and let live" on social issues. I can see the Libertarian Party growing quick a lot in the future...
  19. But it sounds like they had the votes in the house to pass it, including the swine, so why did House Leadership pull it? it would seem they would not be able to get the votes wiht the pork, but they did.... strange
  20. If you give Rivers decent protection (he's a statue), a big wide out threat and and solid running game, he gets your team to 10-11 wins pretty easy. Honestly, he gets the ball out quick so he would be perfect in Buffalo behind this stout line. Rivers would help Spiller become a hands down force in the NFL, he used to KILL ther Bornocs with Sproeles...
  21. Peyton Freakin Manning and the Denver Broncos.... Mile High Salute-
  22. Maybe not the best thing, but he happened at the right time. That orgnization was a mess for a little while, Josh's blunders just accentuated it.... he didn't do too bad drafting, DT, Decker, Ayers is a Starter on D... Tebow did take that team to a playoff, but overall was kind of a wasted pick.... The best thing that happened was Cutler and Marshall found their way out of town... good players, heads full or ****..... The question for the Broncos is, who replaces Manning in a few years?
  23. To be fair to John McDaniels, he was left out to dry by Joe Ellis when that organization was falling apart post Shannahan. McDaniels should have NEVER had as much power as he did in Denver as a first time HC... McDaniels should have been the HC and only the HC, and the Broncos should have had a solid, veteren GM in place to oversee personnel selection... McDaniels biggest issues IMHO other than cheating was firing Mike Nolan after his first season.... I think if he focused on his offense, kept Nolan and not had the weight of the world on his shoulders he would have done much better. That being said, he needs a few more helping of humble before he goes elsewhere.
  24. Is this from personal expereince with H Walker, or are you just accentuating the point of his toughness?
  25. "Real change can happen only when we commit ourselves to rebuilding civil society in America, meaning a society based on family, religion, civic and social institutions, and peaceful cooperation through markets. We cannot reverse decades of moral and intellectual decline by snapping our fingers and passing laws." "Let’s not forget that our own government policies often undermine civil society, cheapen life, and encourage immorality. The president and other government officials denounce school violence, yet still advocate for endless undeclared wars abroad and easy abortion at home. U.S. drone strikes kill thousands, but nobody in America holds vigils or devotes much news coverage to those victims, many of which are children, albeit, of a different color." He added, "Obviously I don’t want to conflate complex issues of foreign policy and war with the Sandy Hook shooting, but it is important to make the broader point that our federal government has zero moral authority to legislate against violence." Some quotes from Ron Paul on the issues of Violence, Gun Control, and our Own Hyposcrisy.....
