But we’re not just erasing Milanos contract from the books. He has massive dead cap. It’s not like we can just cut Milano and pay wu with the savings. If the dead cap is 17 (but maybe it’s less post 6/1) and wu gets 13…… that’s a lot of money for a wlb, plus giving up a draft pick.

Idk, maybe I don’t understand his contract. But I see his cap hit as 16m and dead cap at 17m. If they cut him post June 1st does something change a great deal? I’d be shocked if Dorian isn’t his replacement. He’s only played LB with us. Resources are limited and Bernard has one year left on his contract. Do we pay him? If so, we need a Mike backup because Bernard is also made of glass, like Milano. I find it hard to believe that we would trade more resources for a third wlb knowing that Bernard needs to be replaced or resigned. we shall see- but I’d be stunned if we made a trade for him. I could see us trading for a LB, but an expensive one, 🤷🏻‍♂️ tbh, I hope I’m wrong, because I like the kid so much and he’d be a demon in this system.

It’s not about kenneth walker taking over the game as I am with Spector in coverage.. Geno is a demon over the middle of the field and that’s where Spector and Williams will be in coverage. Neither have been good in coverage and that’s where geno excels. although I am worried about walker in the pass game. We havent been able to cover RBs in the pass game very well- and now it’ll be Spector in coverage vs walker at times. Put bernard out there vs KC in the playoffs and I think we win that game. He’s a very good player. His replacements are not.

JOK doesn’t play MLB my guy. Spector would still play. Dorian would be on the bench. That’s why he isn’t ideal. If Dorian is the only guy you trust….then you need a Mike, not another wlb I know how special he is. I love him. I just don’t see how investing more picks and more money into another wlb makes any sense

MLB is an important position in this defense. You must also look at who the replacement is….and Bernard’s replacement sucks

Trading for and paying another small LB 13m+ plus paying Milano (cutting him costs an additional 1M in dead cap) plus paying Bernard his extension is what we “need”? Meanwhile we spent a 3rd on Dorian Williams, who improves weekly, and he’d be depth. we’d have 3 good outside Lbs, none of which play the middle (Milano, JOK + Dorian) meanwhile we never play 3 LBs. 🤷🏻‍♂️ how this makes any sense. I LOVE Jeremiah, was praying we’d trade up for him in 2021, but stayed put and drafted Boogie 😢. But we still have to pay Rousseau, Bernard, Benford and Shakir. I’d love to add a MLB for this coming season for when Bernard inevitably misses time, but not in favor of trading for a LB that isn’t capable of playing the middle while also getting paid big bucks Doesn’t make sense to me. Correct- drops are drops. You also talked about catch percentage and their catch percentages are much different. MUCH different when receiving passes from good QBs. Regarding the last sentence- you asked what Amari’s “excuse”, this being his 4th team. Why would amari have an excuse for being traded? Do you know why players are traded? USUALLY 2 reasons: their team is trash and they’d prefer to get draft picks in the upcoming draft for them to help with the rebuild (ie raiders and browns). The other being salary cap (cowboys). And he’s been an nfl player for 10 years- again- we have eyes- we can see that he’s a good player. You can go search for one stat that says he’s not. While we’ll listen to the world talk about how great cooper is. He has had issues with drops. It’s one of the reasons he’s not considered elite by many standards. Had he not had the drops, there wouldn’t really be any blemishes in his game. Other than that- he’s great at high pointing the ball and contested catches, one of the best route runners in the league and shows up to play without crying about targets every season. what does Gabe do great other than run block? it’s hilarious that you’re still going to bat for this guy. No- we ran him out of town because of that catch percentage, his limited route tree, he wasn’t a very good route runner, he had little speed, limited yac ability and his inability to separate. Leaving out significant information doesn’t make your post correct. And then there’s context- Prior to joining the Browns in 22- cooper had 2 seasons of sub 62 catch%. His rookie and 3rd seasons with Derek Carr (a below average poor QB) throwing him passes. 57.8 His catch % with a Dak, a good QB, but not great, was 68%- very good. his catch % with Watson, the worst QB in the league, and the Browns was 55.6- poor, like the QB, team and surrounding weapons. Gabe- playing with a top 2 QB and opposite an all pro x, Davis never reached above 56.5%, his rookie season, and only got worse. for their careers: cooper 61.2%- playing with zero elite QBs his entire careers. A handful of seasons playing with one good QB, his caught 68% davis 54.5% playing with an elite QB his entire career (51.4 with Lawrence) It was everything- we had eyes and could see that he wasn’t very good- that’s why he was run out Are you saying cooper isn’t good?

Both are great trades. cooper is the better player atm and didn’t require us to move any cap room down the road. Hopkins gave up a lesser pick and got a player at a position of need. He’s not the guy he was, but he’s a huge upgrade over Watson

i wanted Henry in a bad way only because that would’ve given us the two most unstoppable ball carriers in the league. I also didn’t think there was any chance that we would sign him. In hindsight, the Samuel deal is an abomination, but at the time, I loved it. Would I trade Samuel for Henry? Absolutely.
