  1. Ironic. NFL in Mexico: Ole Ron Mexico in some Mexican: No Way
  2. Was in 1st row and two of us were wearing sombreros (one of which that guy dressed as the Buffalo borrowed for a little while until he got his own). Had a sign with "Ron Mexico: Sore Loser with a Dirty Bird" on one side and "Pluck the Falcons" on the other. One security guy made me turn it to side B when he came around, most others just pretended that they didn't see it. It's possible that a Barney Fife type might have enforced "official (NFL PC)" policy but most likely it never happened or there were additional extenuating factors that caused them to eject him.
  3. Looks like you'll need to wait for the rubber match to figure this years team out.
  4. I'm hoping my sombrero makes it through the pitter-patters. Making some signs ahead of time (suggestions welcome) plus some blanks and a sharpie in case they are deemed un-PC by the censor patrol.
  5. Hear Hear (or is it here, here). If they ever get that wacky rating system in place I'm bookmarking this post to give it a gold star.
  6. So does standing and yelling everytime their O is on the field (or at least the 1stQ before the current Gen of fans gets bored), but it does provide a home team advantage. Maybe we should serve tea and scones?
  7. Huh??? It's quite the opposite. The team's success depends upon the Losman's development. Backing into the playoffs with little chance of advancing is near-sighted, pandering, and pointless. It's the sign of a coaching staff and administration trying to keep their paychecks coming. Prudent development is the high ground.
  8. A coach dress code is not only absurd, it actually exists! Thought I remembered an incident last year and googled it quite easily. From Chris Carter's Yahoo Sports Column of May 12, 2005 6. Coaches' dress code The NFL is right: San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan shouldn't be allowed to wear a coat and tie on the sideline. If there's a company uniform, then that person should wear the company uniform. As a player, I wanted to wear a different color sock, even low socks, and wear my jersey cut, but I couldn't do those things.
  9. I typically brought a backpack (flimsy little thing with one zippered and one open compartment and string straps), camera case w/camera, baggie of pretzels, raincoat, and a plastic flask with "medicinal liquid" to the games. I studied the New World Order rules and being one of those socially backwards negative guys (destined to get banned in the new PC atmosphere) decided to see if I could still get them into the game. Figuring the backpack would be the hardest (and not wanting to lose it) before tailgating I stuffed it with my raincoat and asked several "patters" if my "seat cushion" was OK to bring in. All said it was no problem. Ironically saw a guy ask if he could bring in his backpack (basically the same thing as I had) and he was told NO immediately. When I went to go in, I stratigically stashed the flask (hardest part), took the camera from the case (which I was going to call a purse) and hung the strap around my neck and held the pretzel baggie. Girl who inspected asked what I had, told her a seat cushion, showed her the case (with extra batteries and memory stick inside) which she called it a "container", did a basic pat-down and was let in. Ten feet inside the gate I loaded everything back into my "seat cushion", put in on my back and proceeded to my seat. This week I need to add a Ron Mexico welcoming sign and my sombrero so it may be more of a challenge but the bottom line is the patters are willing to work with you as long as you make it easy for them to do so. (Of course this week I'll probably get everything confiscated.) BTW, why are cell phones OK?
  10. Maybe the Bills should recruit cheerleaders as well as players from the land of sunshine.
  11. Predicitions are more impressive when they are made prior to event occuring.
  12. He's lucky it wasn't his 2" one. That's usually the first to go!
  13. bump
  14. Actually, per TD interview on radio pregame last week we could wear them for any two games this year per NFL. Pretty stupid to use them up this early in the season and to blow the second on an away game.
  15. Seems pretty kind in retrospect. He could have named every Bills player, coach, and janitor in a laying the blame poll but he had more class than that.
  16. Get a clue. The massive email that INFL receives everytime the mildest slight is made about Buffalo is exactly the reason that the coverage is diminished. The Marino "I love Buffalo" comment was not a compliment; it was a tongue in cheek dig by Marino and Collinsworth on how the city/fans are being stereotyped as a bunch of touch-holes. Maybe if enough email is sent in they will do a cover story on Buffalo's inferiority complex. Wouldn't that be special.
  17. If and when he asks for more than he is worth and gets traded to Atlanta
  18. Letterman had a good one last night also. [Paraphrasing here.] Claimed that Clinton and Old Bush's next mercy mission stop would be the Jets Locker Room.
  19. Most A$$holes are. (Literally and figuratively).
  20. Yeah, was out 1st wek last year (forget to who) and Denver got me this year too. Should have known better. Set up for the double whammy: Outta pool and those damn dumphins win!
  21. Anyone who has bit this rank amateur's bait has been "iced" in one of the most unimaginative ways I've seen in a long time. Shame on you!
  22. Can either take three or use 1 seat in your car. Leave from Utica TWay Exit. Looking to make TBD Tailgate for a few hours, see game and head back. If interested PM me.
  23. Really hate to muck up such a lively discussion with actual facts but precedent policy (no doubt vetted by the PC-NFL) has already been set by the Giants. It is most likely that other teams would follow suit. Link Giants set ticket policy for Saints game NFL.com wire reports EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Sept. 6, 2005) -- New Orleans Saints season ticket holders will have first choice of seats for the team's game rescheduled for Giants Stadium on Sept. 19. Saints season ticket holders and others who had already bought tickets for the game originally scheduled for the storm-damaged Louisiana Superdome on Sept. 18 will be able to buy tickets for the rescheduled game beginning Sept. 8, the Giants said. Giants season ticket holders will be able to buy tickets beginning the same day, three hours later. The general public will be able to buy any remaining tickets beginning Sept. 13. The Giants have said they will send "a substantial amount" of the ticket proceeds from the game to disaster relief organizations.
  24. If you originate a post in the Trading Post (maybe all of the TBD forums?) you can delete it yourself by choosing the choosing the MODERATION OPTIONS option to "Delete this Topic".
  25. Wow, it's amazing how fast a topic gets off track. Per a CBSSportsline article this am " The Saints said Sunday three options are being considered: LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La; the Alamodome in San Antonio; or at the stadiums of all their opponents." As to what has already been decided: " The Saints open Sunday at Carolina, then play at Giants Stadium on a date to be announced. Their third game is at Minnesota, so the first game still in flux is Oct. 2 against Buffalo."
