Catch him about every other year. Usually walking down ramp near Gate 9 with a couple of assistants on either side of him to run interference. -
You may need to scroll down to see captions. Didn't change Home Link on individual picures page so hit refresh if you get a page not found. GB (and 04 Oakland Away Game) Photos

What is a" Modified Pat Down" and does security
DieHardFan replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not surprisingly, this conflicts with the information found at http://www.buffalobills.com/facility/StadiumPolicies.jsp Could not find path to above link via the regular menu system. Have always been able to bring in camera cases and I would be leary about bringing mine today w/o a case especially with the weather forcasted. Tried to contact anyone (ticket office is SUPPOSED to be open) but of course no one answers, just recorded highlights from last year. Does anyone know which link is correct and/or the number for the Bill's security office? ===================== Update: Just got an answer at the ticket office (after a 35 minute wait on hold) and yes, the policy at Hammer's link is the new policy. Got typical deaf, dumb, and blind ticket attendent (only one there today) who had printed copy of new policy. Of course they had no number for security, just the security training center. -
Anyone else try to tune in the game?

Any feedback about the Pick' em contest?
DieHardFan replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is the pool software flexible enough to allow MNF score pick points to be awarded on a gradient? (eg 2 pts if within 3 pts of score and 1 pt if within 4 - 6 pts). All or nothing based on an exact match is more luck than skill. -
IM(never)HO from what I see "Pods" are nothing but mp3 files that apple is trying to mystify. [Kinda like the people that still use AOL because a real ISP is too complicated for them.] If you want a 'pod' of the game buy a $25 video card, record the live feed off of TV or sirus or the NFL network replay and record the audio. From a practical viewpoint 'pod' replays are great for Limbaughites to catch a rerun in the gym but listening to an audio replay of a game sounds rather boring and pointless.

Returning to Western NY
DieHardFan replied to StuckinRedskinland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PLEASE get your facts straight. Oneida County is proud to be paying 9.75% sales tax. It is our duty to support all those who don't care to work. [sad but true facts: 1) As part of the refuge relocation package, the immigrant is given a $5000 credit toward a new automobile. 2) A 16 year old girl can not enter into a legal contract UNTIL she becomes pregnant, then she is considered an adult and is allowed to do so. ] I NY -
Did anyone else watch Huddle show on NFL Network
DieHardFan replied to envirojeff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Alert NFL/DTV marketing! Those bozos are already paying $239 (or more) for NFL ticket plus another $99 for the "superfan" boning. Let's bundle the preseason games, and get another $100, nah they'll pay $150 for the "NFL Ticket PreSeason StuperFan" package. Genius! [see ya Saturday Fez] -

What misguided priorities this country has. Winchell patents the artificial heart yet becomes rich and famous being a dummy operator. -
The shows died a natural death when hardware marketing and internet storefronts matured. [Always thought it was quite a gimmick that Trapp could make money off both the sellers and buyers, probably also squeezed the hotdog vendors]. Used to buy 90% of our hardware at the shows in the late 90's. Had to know the reliable players from the one shot flim flams and you were OK. Then the Insights and TigerDirects became more cost effective. For a while the hardware vendors relyed on momentum, public ignorance of current pricing and/or state of art products and dumping of last generation products. At that time you could still get good software deals but most were semi-legal OEM copies. Technical books (especially used) and niche items (NICs, cabling etc) were the real reason to pay the price of admission at that time. By 2002 or so the best deals were found using the PriceWatch/Pricegrabber type search engines. The shows still were hardware dominated and the established names relied on selling to the home user whose 1999 vintage PC he bought/built from show parts died or needed updating and didn't realize that the shows were no longer cost effective. Also saw alot more shady dealers who sold defective stuff being recycled as new. Today the pricing variation between vendors is much smaller and the time, effort and risk of using second tier storefronts much less actually traveling and paying to get into a show is hardly worth it. One interesting current differentiator is a storefront that will stand behind a manufacturers rebate. Many manufacturers were/are offering great rebates but either denying them due to small print loopholes, saying they received the rebate forms late or never got them (look at the current turbotax rebates, they refuse to accept certified mail, hmmm wonder why?) , making you submit them on-line via sites the require you to go through a labyrinth of windows that frequently crash during the process, or simply failing to deliver. It's a happy ending though. Today you can get an exponentially more powerful machine that costs half the price of the ones that were available just 5 or 6 years ago. It's really amazing.

Kudos to Shaquille O'Neal....
DieHardFan replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quite an article. The overriding good (and sometimes bad) attribute about O'Neal is that he is a kid at heart. Rare to see such innocence and enthusiasm in someone who has the perks in life that he has obtained. Too bad the LA cops didn't use his surveillance skills to infiltrate neverland. -
Sad to see it got such poor ratings. Was not impreseed with the premise (especially Stallone being the lead) or pre-promos but watched the first show and I was hooked. Loved the way he nailed Sugar Ray. Comes off as a complete burn-out. It's too bad that real world boxing can't be handled in a similar manner instead of the crony driven mess that exists now.

IMO it's right behind Curb Your Enthusiasm in the half hour comedy genre and much better than Arliss and Ali G. Not really fair to compare SFU with ENT as it's in a completely different arena; (twisted) plot driven dramas for lack of a better term. Will miss SFU but hope it will go out with a bang; last season was not up to snuff IMO.. In this catagory I would rate The Wire, Sopranos, and SFU as tight #1, #2, #3 with the others (Deadwood, Carnivale etc) a large step below. Now if HBO would only pick up the NFL Ticket.....

I'll give you a pair in the 1st row of Sec 114 if you change your ranking logo to "Cable Advocate" for two weeks. -
anyone have a link to this 49ers video?
DieHardFan replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Taste" and "Controversy" aside (is the content really that outrageous, especially when the intended audience is taken into account?) the video is just plain stupid. Perfect media fodder for drawing in viewers, but hardly sensational. The "jokes' don't even make it to a sophmoric level and the whole thing lacks originality. Reynolds deserved to be fired for no other reason than this egotistic, poorly conceived idea. -
I thought he was great ........ on Ally McBeal.

On the subject of school aid why is it assumed that district funding of schools is a de facto right. IN NYS it isn't even a fact. Follow the lawsuits regarding the "upstate" vs "downstate" distribution of school aid. Not sure of the Fed vs State vs local %'s but I think they are stacked in favor of the first two. The erosion of the US's intellectual superiority is a fact. And my belief is that the school system is 70 % to blame (with another 20% being the erosion of the family). Private schools are (and should be) an option for those who can afford them (WITHOUT tax credits) but funding school districts based upon the district's income is ludicrist. MINIMAL FEDERAL standards (right or wrong) exist and to bring them up RESOURCES need to be prioritized for those schools which are lacking. The career opportunities that existed for the uneducated just 20 years ago don't exist today. The individual and society suffer when the educatable are not. Race and economics aside, contrary to PC teaching we are not all intellectually equal. Competetion helps one to excel in acedemics as well as athletics. If you are not academically gifted you shouldn't have to compete against those that are. And vica versa. It hurts both extremes. Put the bottom 20% of acheivers in one school, and the top 20% in another and educate them appropriately and the rest can stay put. Just my opinion. -

Wow, the avalanche of responses to this thread makes me realize how much harm the PCification of the last 5 - 10 years has actually done. IMO the actual opportunity to express one's thoughts, whether they are ignorant, unfeeling, or malicious is the way to cure the boil of intolerance and hatred. PC just lets the feelings fester since we all know the banished (ie censored) subjects and stereotypes don't go away they just get discussed (and re-enforced) among groups you know are "safe". Is this progressive or retro? IMO (OPINION being the significant phrase) the comments here range from raw and ignorant to insightful and revealing. But at least they foster understanding of the various points of view out there. -
Even Trump recognized that this group was lacking although he worded around it. Saw an interview earlier in the day where he said that for A4 he had his minions narrow the field down to 2K then got involved in the interviews himself. Said that Burnett was not going to pick a highly qualified woman because she was "too pretty". Trump said "he would worry about that" and placed her in the group. Typical Trump self-promotion.
