Is it bad to hope TT tweaks a hammy ?

Considering only 3 of the last 10 first round picks are even on the team, I don't think it matters very much. People confuse number of picks with number of quality starters- they are not one in the same. We could have all the picks in the world, but if they are used like they have been the last 17 years, we are destine for further failure.

Not sure what to think. I honestly don't know much about the guys we got. The hurt is the final recognition that the move to get Watkins was stupid and re-solidifies the draft picks wasted. Next up, Ragland is gone, and another wasted 2nd rounder. If these two new guys work out, we still need to sign them next year. All the draft picks are great, but they will be young and a year or two away from producing- if they are not merely more wasted picks. Moving up to get a qb next year is not only risky, but it may be hard to find a trade partner even with the picks to give as the top teams will certainly have their own qb issues. At the end of the day, I guess we'll see. Hell it's only been 17 years since we had something to cheer about.

Funny how times change. Training camp now consists of only 14 practices over a 20 day period. Must be incredibly difficult for a team with new coaches and new systems to get up to speed and be able to compete with established teams like New England. I wonder if that has anything to do with good teams staying good, and bad teams staying bad. Years ago it seemed like teams had an easier time going from worst to first. It could be the 16 year drought but it seems like it doesn't happen much in the NFL anymore.

I have a good friend who works for the Panthers and has know this guy for many years. He texted me to say "we hit the gm lottery" with this guy. Good to hear, but after all the years of pain, I am officially a wait and see guy. Nonetheless, good to hear. Stay tuned.

As of last year, I gave up listening to all the promises. It is what it is. Right now they are a 7-9 team with a new head coach. The lost a key player on defense (Gilmore) and a key player on offense (Wood). They have drafted players to replace them. We will see how this ends up.

Could someone help explain why there is a consensus that we need linebackers (or that the backers we have don't fit the scheme). I know Ragland is a thumper, but can he play the weak side? Who will start in the middle, if he can't? if Ragland starts in the middle, can Brown play weekside? I'm just confused.

Whatever the cause, it certainly does not look like he will be helping this team this year.
