  1. I don't think that Pickett is that good a player. The Rams defense was horrible, and their castoffs are getting silly money out there....Archuleta 30 million? The Bills still have Tim Anderson and Ron Edwards, correct? And Triplett? Maybe they'll get AJ Hawk to plug the middle anyway. Marv ain't stupid.
  2. The Rams had to do something. Their defense was horrible. Last year they signed Chris Claiborne, who sucked, and Dexter Coakley, whom I thought had retired. He should've. Both were a waste of money. Their defense is already vastly improved. I especially like the Witherspoon signing.
  3. It doesn't matter what Nate thinks. What matters is what the market will bear for an above average corner coming off a bad year. How can he expect to be the top paid corner in the league when he didn't even make it as an ALTERNATE to the Pro Bowl? He's not in the top 8.
  4. There is not a word in St. Louis about cutting their best player. I don't see that as a remote possibility.
  5. They don't owe him any additional bonus, but he's already been paid a signing bonus that is amortized over the life of the contract. He gets to keep that money and go sign elsewhere for nothing. Why not do the same here?
  6. What's amusing is that they may reject the Bills offer to restructure, take the Bills bonus money, and go sign somewhere for the minimum. Like New England. He'd be an absolute star in New England.
  7. He is still a great athlete, and in the right offense can catch 100 passes for 1200 or more yards. He makes Evans more effective. Not worth that cap figure, though. I think he would be a star in KC, and I hope he does not end up in New England.
  8. Nate had an awful year. I thought that the Miami game cost him at least 5 million dollars. He is worth maybe 5 year/18 million. I'd give him 6 million s.b.
  9. A couple years ago, there was a link to the Wonderlic....and it isn't that hard a test. I can't believe that any functional adult would get fewer than 50% correct.
  10. I'm entitled to my optimism, and you're entitled to your pessimism. Having Marv back gives me hope.
  11. I really don't think the Bills are that far away from being a contender. Sign a free agent or two for the OL, get Everett back, new offense can't be anywhere near as ineffective as last year. Remember the Bills had the best "first drive of the game" offense in the league. After that, they were horrible. They just need to design a good offense around the talent they have. I hope they keep Moulds. The return of Spikes and the drafting of Ngata, and the return of Ron Edwards will help this defense get back near the top of the league. I don't care for the twin middle aged safety concept. They should go after a pass rush guy to complement Schobel. There is talent on this team. And I hope the new regime can draw the talent out.
  12. the scoop on Pickett was that he had a lot of raw talent when drafted, and had he stayed another year he would probably have been a top 20 pick. The Rams had 3 1st rounders that year, and took a chance on Pickett at the end of the round. He had a pretty decent year, but he wants like 4 year 20 million or something asinine like that, leading the Rams in tackles is like being the tallest dwarf in the NBA.
  13. When you're done, will you break it down for us by team, and assign grades? That would be great, wouldn't it?
  14. So, we throw the ball maybe 5 times a game to a tight end. There are 2 of them. What do they do the rest of the game? Block. Kid can't block. Plus, his name is hard to pronounce. I don't care for that.
  15. I agree. I used to listen to him when I was a kid, he was on when the friggin' Beatles came out....and I don't mean that in a gay way, not that there's anything wrong with that. I would've guessed he was retired or dead. Or both.
  16. That punter had many chances to pin the Steelers deep into their end of the field, but hit the end zone every time. You gotta get at least a coupla kicks inside the 20!!
  17. We have Tivo. It was a first down. I was yelling for fatso to challenge, but his guys upstairs never got a look. The guys in the room claimed it was short, till we rewound and looked at it. Clearly a first down. The guy who spotted it came in from behind. Bad call. Critical call. The other miserable calls, I agree with you. Especially on the tackle.
  18. Unless you change my pick in round 2 for Minnesota to Brian Calhoun, I am out.
  19. Well, I checked my computer about 20 times waiting for my turn, it came up, I got out some notes, made the pick. If that's the way it's gonna be, either change my pick (nobody after me took Calhoun), then I forfeit my right to choose in the 3rd.
  20. Hey, I just found out about my pick being up 10 minutes ago, sat down and made a pick, and found out somebody made the pick for me. What's up with that?
  21. I don't know. Sometimes some of us aren't at the computer on this page every 2 hours. Plus, the draft ain't till April.
  22. The Minnesota Vikings, proud charter boat patrons, select Mathias Kiwanuka (DE) Boston College.
  23. Speaking of pronunciations, does anybody know how to pronounce the name of the actress CCH Pounder, who plays the African American female detective on The Shield?
