  1. I agree with you about Mike. I thought his playcalling was really weak this year. Even the national media pokes fun at his passes in the flat to Shelton, calling Shelton the slowest player in the league. There have been dozens of horrible calls all year, an underutilization of skill players, and any team that is 1-7 in games decided by fewer than 5 points does not know how to create a winning attitude. Plus, how can we forgive him for leading the team to the loss v. Pittsburgh's scrubs last year?
  2. I think it's time that the Earth abandon the term "box" referring to a woman's love bucket.
  3. 4 interceptions. Running a no huddle offense with 5 minutes left, trailing by 4 points? Absurd. There is never a reason to throw the ball to Shelton...he is slow, can't catch, and has no moves. They had some success throwing to Parrish. Why bail on that? The Jets defense was missing something like 4 starters. The Bills could've won the game. The kickoff return was big, but they had already given up too much via interception and long passes to Nate's receivers.
  4. Moulds is still a stud, and has at least 2 solid years in front of him. Williams has been hurt all year. 2004 was a very solid year for him. We cut him, he will play somewhere, and I'm thinking he's going to become an All Pro.
  5. I don't think Flowers was a Donahoe choice, was he? I thought he was the end of the Butler era. Williams was rated exactly where he was chosen. Evans....well, they probably could've gotten him a few choices later, from what I understand they couldn't find a trading partner, and they wanted Evans, so they took him. Donahoe will end up on his feet someplace.
  6. I cannot understand why anybody would ever throw a pass to Shelton. He has no moves, no speed, no tackle breaking ability. I can't understand the quick throws to Campbell either. When somebody asks him about YAC, he tells them about throwing up last night. Roscoe had some nice plays, why pull the plug on that? Why did the Jets seem to complete every deep pass? Every time somebody throws Nate's way, it costs him half a million in total package money. I'll bet you could get him for 4 years 15 million now. And I'd take him, count on the new defensive coordinator to get some pressure on the QB, which is the key to any good pass defense. When the Bills got the ball with about a minute left, what was that 3 yard pass over the middle to Shaud Williams? Work the sidelines, throw to a starter please. I think Mularkey needs to hire Mike Martz as offensive coordinator, and somebody from New England to run the defense. Yes, I know Mike Martz ain't coming to Buffalo, but he would do wonders with the talent we have on offense. He made a star out of Kurt Warner for Fk sake, and Az Hakim!
  7. I hope they both stay. TD has had some bad luck with injuries this year. He's made some great moves....fleecing Atl. for a 1st rounder for PP, taking that free pick and making it McGahee. Picking up Spikes and Fletcher. McGee the corner/return guy. He let PW go in order to save money, and thought RE and the other guys would more than compensate. Who can predict injuries? He drafted wisely to prepare for the losses of AW and soon NC, assuming he can't sign him. Drafted JJennings, who turned out to be a great pick, overpaid by San Fran. MWilliams was thought to be a great pick at the time, who knew he would be such a marginal player. The other linemen....well, they've really been mediocre at best, but look at Jason Peters, what a great signing. Also, Jim Leonhard, and a couple other street free agents from 2004 (Jabari Greer, one other safety, the DE guy) made the roster. He's good at his job. MM? I don't feel as strongly.
  8. How about WW (I or II), one of the world's rare non-timesaving abbreviations? 6 syllables (W W) as opposed to 2 (World War), in case some of you don't know what I mean.
  9. If somebody can convince Martz to come in and run an offense, that team will have an astonishing offense. He is a lousy head coach. He hires his buddies to run the defense, and pretty much ignores special teams. He drafts worse than you can possibly imagine, taking whomever he wants whenever he wants, doesn't matter that a guy is valued as a 5th rounder, he'll take him in the 2nd. One year he wasted an early 4th round pick on a guy about whom he said, "I guarantee NOBODY knows this guy!!" why draft him? But I remember in Martz's first year, Trent Green went down for the year in Pre Season. I immediately drafted Kurt Warner onto my Fantasy team. Won going away. He's turned Bulger into a highly rated passer. Al Davis may take a flyer at him as a coach. He'd turn that thing around....offensively anyway. If a team has a strong GM who can take any personnel decisions away from Martz, and Martz has to stay away from the defense and special teams, they will have a great offense for years. I wonder where he'll go.
  10. We have the worst tight ends in football, including high school. We just dropped a notch without the ace, Ryan Neufeld.
  11. It is from Ace Ventura, which was based upon Norwood's kick. You think I'm making this up, take a look at the hold next time you get a chance. That's why the kick missed. It never hooked, like every other kick Scott had in his life. It went straight.
  12. The kick was missed because Frank Reich failed to turn the laces forward. Any right footed kicker's ball will hook left several feet during the flight toward the posts, but since the laces were sideways, they affected the trajectory and it did not hook left at all. When the ball left his foot, I was sure it was going dead center. I had wondered why the ball didn't hook, and read an article quoting Morton Andersen saying it was Reich's fault. Next time I saw the replay, I thought, Damn! He's right. Andersen praised Norwood for not pointing the finger at his holder.
  13. Did anybody expect the Bills to win on Saturday? I didn't. I thought they'd do what they did: lose and look dumb in the process.
  14. I remember the GW call v. New England 3 years ago. I was as upset as I've ever been at a coach for a gutless call. It was 4th and 2 from the 31 and he punted. 12 yard punt as I recall. They were tied for first with New England at the time of that debacle. The reason I wasn't as upset this year is that the Bills stink, and I don't care that much about them right now. The reason I don't care that much is that the players don't seem to care that much. I also find it disgusting when MM approaches the refs with 5 minutes left, and he's got a big, goofy grin on his face, challenging a spot that was clearly a first down. Was he joking?
  15. The team should play to win, always. There is a certain rhythm that you lose by resting starters for weeks. What they can do is put the hammer down in efforts to go undefeated...by beating San Diego and Seattle. Prepare Manning and Co. to go 1/2 the final game against hapless Arizona. Then give the entire team a week off to watch the Wild Card week. I'm sick of watching fat Larry swill Champagne every time an undefeated team goes down.
  16. I always thought that one was "In the Crease," and "No Goal" was the one v. Philly that never went in the goal, went thru a hole in the net into the net behind the pipes, yet counted as a goal.
  17. I think he'd be a great interim coach. He's about 20 clicks smarter than anybody else, and he's a gentleman and a player's coach, yet uncompromising and demanding. I read his book. He's great. They can hire Mariucci to run the offense till Marv hangs it up.
  18. Like the reporter said, it's sad that the exercise of free speech is wasted on something so mean. I have a 3 year old boy, and if anything ever happened to him, I don't care how it happened or why, it would ruin my life forever. If somebody found that amusing, I'd be tempted to track that person down and put his/her head thru the business end of a lazy boy rocker.
  19. from yesterday's Post Dispatch in St. Louis, perhaps the most ignorant and offensive person, and her mother. I post this because I feel people need to know about this. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/colu...D1?OpenDocument
  20. Marv is alive and wants to coach. Landry is dead, and cannot be channeled into a dog, although Carl Mauck could qualify as one.
  21. What does "meh" mean? Is that bovine? Marv wants to coach. He's a leader, and the best coach we've ever had in this town. He's probably in better shape than 90% of our fans. Present company included. Mariucci was hamstrung in Detroit, he's a talent and has a lot of potential.
  22. I'd call Marv Levy, give him the head coaching position with Steve Mariucci Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator. Mooch takes over upon the demise/retirement of Marv Levy. This team has no heart, and Marv can transplant some of his into the squad. Maybe Haslett becomes defensive coordinator. Okay, I lost some of you there. I don't think Donahoe can last under these conditions.
  23. And the Bills could just as easily be 6-6 as 4-8. You know it, I know it, they know it. They lost some games they should've won. I'm not revising history, I'm stating a fact. They could've won those games. That's a fact. They had leads, and due to poor coaching and other doofus-related breakdowns, they lost games that were clearly winnable. So, anybody thinks I'm wrong for saying that, well, good for you. You sure got me there. I'm not denying the record of the team. I'm just saying, there but for the disgrace of the football gods, go the Bills. I am very disappointed, well, pissed at the record. But this is not a team without talent. This is a team without hope....for this year. Optimistic like a Cubs fan.
  24. Face it. We had New England and Miami. We could've beat Carolina. Bad coaching, bad luck. But truth is, had this team played just a little differently, we would be 6-6 or 7-5, at least tied for first. That's how ridiculous this season is. Had JP not thrown the interception, we would've won that game. Probably. And we'd all be in much better spirits. Bad call. I don't know how you overcome stupidity. If you're that dumb, maybe it's easier to put it behind you. I don't think they can win many more games, but I do believe they will beat New England this Sunday.
  25. I don't think it's appropriate for a guy to act wholesome and like part of a team concept, and at the same time trash the coaching staff and, actually, his teammates. He says he thinks Adams should be playing, which is a public criticism of his coach, and he says something about JP "favoring" Evans....well, Evans seems to get open and catch the ball, and get it into the end zone. I don't think it's favoring anybody, but hitting the open guy. He said he told his teammates to play hard and not let this be a distraction. He's looking a bit "holier than thou," if you ask me. Well, you didn't ask me, so never mind.
