  1. I was recently watching some old highlights of Bruce on YouTube, and man... I forgot how he just manhandled guys and rag dolled them on his way to crushing the QB It's a huge dropoff, but Mario Williams was the next best DE we've had.
  2. Draft both Caldwell and Grant at DT. Both 340+ pounds. Grant late 1st Caldwell 4th round Perfect!
  3. There aren't many, and there never were many. They are truly special humans. That's why they bring such joy to our hearts when we see them don the Red White and Blue! But I want a Vita Vea!
  4. This proposal is way, way too much power in the hands of a ref. It's like letting a ref throw a flag to allow a team to automatically convert an onside kick. Disaster waiting to happen either way. There's 2 possibilities: 1. They'll ref the play like any other 4th and long, meaning there will semi-often be flags thrown that automatically award the ball to the "kicking team" in this scenario. Think of all the possibilities: defensive holding, DPI, roughing the passer, hands to the face, illegal contact, unnecessary roughness for a big hit by a DB. That's a TON of temptation. On the flip side, offensive holding to wipe out the conversion. 2. The league will tell the refs to swallow the whistle for this play, which means defenses will take advantage, hold, etc. knowing the refs won't have the guts to call it. Sort of like a Hail Mary play now. Can you imagine the absolute uproar if a playoff game was decided because a ref threw a flag on the "onside conversion" play that allowed the Chiefs to win a playoff game? LOL It got bad this year. That would be nuclear.
  5. I'd like to see 340 pounds, knowing that "that's what he's listed at, but who are we kidding?" Sort of like when Sam Adams and Ted Washington were listed at 345 (ish)
  6. He's a tad light, but we could work on that if he's willing to put the work in at local pizzerias
  7. No doubt. Stafford would make the Steelers a real contender in the AFC, barring injuries to their defensive players. They would be in the top 4 in the AFC with him, IMO. Chiefs Bills Steelers Ravens
  8. When it comes to the onside kick, part of me thinks that if you worked all game to build a lead that is more than 1 score and the other team doesn't have time or opportunity to come back then too bad they had all game to figure it out Do the old onside kick and take your chances
  9. For sure... I just checked the 2025 standings on NFL.com and the Steelers are already penciled in at 9-8 with a wildcard berth.
  10. You think F- is bad, just wait until the players drop a G+ or even an H next year....
  11. The AFC could really use some more QB talent as a conference Soon a 5-12 NFC team will be in the playoffs
  12. Scenario: AFC Championship game. Last game ever at the current Highmark Stadium. 4th quarter. Bills led 28-17 but Chiefs just scored to make it 28-24 with 1:57 left. Romo: Ooooooooohhhhhhh Jimmmmmmmmm the Chiefs trying for the 4th and 12 onside kick! Nance: "Mahomes back to throw, rushed to his right by Garrett... and SACKED! SACKED! A couple of kneel downs and the Bills are going to the Super Bowl!" Romo: "ohhhhhhh wait a minute Jimmmmm... there's a flag!" Do we really need the rest? If this rule existed during the NE* dynasty Brady would have 11 Super Bowl rings
  13. Hyperbole But hearing about McVay being "burned out" 2-3 years ago was a joke, at least to me.
  14. Nooooo! Nooooo! Yelled in the bewildered and angry style of Mr. Gower in the alternate reality where George Bailey is asking him whether he knows him after Nick sprays him in the face and tells him to get out of the bar. Obviously he doesn't know George because George doesn't exist, and poor Mr. Gower was never warned by George (who doesn't exist) not to send poison in the medicine bottle when George was a kid... So no. No trade.
  15. We need to draft a gigantic DT this draft. No more excuses!
  16. Some day there's going to be this service... where you pay a fee (probably a somewhat hefty one) and in return you get all the streaming services and their channels in one place. And we will have come full circle. Except it will be more expensive.
  17. they want the kickoff to be a competitive play instead of a pointless formality I like it. It penalizes teams for just kicking into the end zone and not allowing special teams players to impact the game
  18. It could just be the problem being a good QB but not being in the AFC
  19. I don't get it... The Rams recently won a SB with Stafford, and this year came close to beating the Eagles in the playoffs in Philly. LA has a 25 year old coach who is supposedly burned out already and wants to retire and go into broadcasting every other offseason, so this is just an odd situation all around.
  20. I'd go 3 years, 40 million, 100% guaranteed. Then draft a RB next year and develop him and let Cook go to free agency after the 3 years. That way you get prime Cook years, he gets good $$, and you don't have a bad contract. A guy making plays all over the field for you and earning $13.3 million is never a problem.
  21. Allen will win 3 Super Bowls here by the time he's done. All 3 he goes to.
  22. They're constantly telling guys to slim down, which is a problem. But then they do sign guys like Phillips, so I don't know what to make of it. Next time I see McDermott in Wegmans I'm going to beg him to draft a massive DT
  23. The truth is he has just as much chance to win here as he would anywhere else. Pegula will spend $, McDermott at least has a stable program, and the team will always be able to attract top free agents and OC's. Where else is he going to go that would improve his chances? wherever he goes that team becomes a contender because of him. But then there's everything else. People mention the Rams. Every year it's "will McVay retire?" there. Does he want to go somewhere that the coach is like 25 years old but already wants to retire because he's already burned out?
  24. and they have to live with that... The 4th Super Bowl should have been a convincing win, not just a win, but they straight up blew it. Aikman was so badly concussed he had no idea what was going on. It was their SB to finally win. After all the heartbreak they had a chance to go up 17-6 at the half. When Odomes got that INT with about 1:00 left before half and the bills up 10-6 that was the opportunity. The Bills got all the way to the Dallas 12 but had to settle for a FG to go up 13-6 at the half and never scored again. Let's say they go up 17-6 at the half. They also got the ball after the half. Go up 24-6 there and guys start to believe. Dallas players in that 4 falls documentary said it: the Bills were outplaying them and Aikman was concussed and out of it. they figured it might finally be the Bills time given the circumstances. Instead, it was 13-6 at half and a few plays into the 3rd quarter Thurman fumbled and it was returned for a TD to tie the game 13-13 and the entire team melted. Hey, at least they had fun at the parties!
