Joe Namath wants Jets to clean house & start over
eball replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I just listened to that and it was hilarious. It still chaps my ass that Josh imploded in the 2nd half and blew that W. Just End The Season -
Dare I say Chris Brown is a better PBP man than John Murphy?

Boom goes the dynamite. -
Happy Victory Monday. Oh yeah, and Mac Jones is a d***** bag.

what did he do? -
He is, but he is doing lots of simulated pressure to confuse the OL and QB...

Truthfully, just about all "hometown" announcers are brutal. You hear the clips if you are driving around listening to SiriusXM NFL Radio on Sunday...I cringe at 95% of the touchdown calls. -
Not the same thing. The Fish have created an unfair environmental advantage based upon which sideline you are on. No other stadium in the NFL does this.
-
It was eerily similar to the conditions the Bills faced a year ago…heat index well over 100 on the Broncos’ sideline while the Fish were in the shade. Everybody knew the 2nd half would be a schite-show. At some point the league needs to mandate that this sort of “home field advantage” is not allowed. During the month of September the Fish should only be able to schedule late or night games at home.

I’m not ranking teams at this point because they’ve only played three games and the level of competition is not equal. There is a “tier” of 5-6 teams I think will be competing for the Super Bowl, and the biggest difference from what I thought during preseason is that I have dropped Cinci out of that tier. Otherwise, it is KC, Buffalo, Miami (in the AFC) and SF and Philly in the NFC. Next tier down is Cinci, Cleveland, Baltimore, Jacksonville in the AFC and Dallas, Detroit, and maybe the Packers and Rams in the NFC. I don’t trust any NFC South teams.

Bills missed opportunity to ditch McD and sign genius Sean Payton

I didn't watch it either...just going by them losing as home favorites to the Raiders and Commandos and then giving up 70. Agreed that the Bears are awful. -

I think there is something to this. Good QBs coming out next year, and Sean has seen enough of Russ to know he can’t turn him back into what he was in Seattle. I’m sorry, but you don’t give up 70 to anybody in this league if you are trying. That team quit in the sweltering heat, and I think the Broncos may not win more than a game or two all year. They look like the worst team in the league. -
I’ll jump in here. While Elam hasn’t been active, he has still been with the team, in all of the meetings, and practicing each week. He’s not “out of touch” with the team chemistry. He played in big moments last year, including the playoffs. He played on the same field with Tyreek & Co. three times last season. I have no idea what they’ll do, but activating Elam this week and using his talents against this particular team wouldn’t shock me. It really all comes down to whether McDermott believes he can trust him.

It is certainly interesting to note that the Bills have only given up two defensive TDs through three games…and none since the Raiders’ first drive of W2. Every time I look at this game I have to ask myself which of the four main units (Bills O and D, Fish O and D) is the weakest? The answer is always the Fish D.

It’s always amazing to me how few people understand betting lines.

Over-reaction Three Weeks In.... Offense seems disjointed
eball replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think some fans have incredibly high (and somewhat unreasonable) expectations for this offense. They’ve been putting up points and yards with the best of them. We want to see the wide open big TDs that Miami is scoring, but that’s the anomaly. We just missed another Davis TD yesterday, by a toe. Some play calls simply didn’t work. I agree they need to specifically target Kincaid, but he made a couple of mistakes early and didn’t get into the flow. Big week this week. The Fish are probably going to score, and we will need to keep pace. -

The quick outside throws didn’t work at all. There had to be something he saw during preparation that made him think they would. I didn’t think Dorsey called a bad game; just a couple of “huh?” plays that were stuffed. I guess in my “glass half full” mind I am hoping he’s just trying to put a lot of stuff out there on film for defenses to see. -
Just curious what people are thinking going into Miami week against Tua and the video game offense.

Over-reaction Three Weeks In.... Offense seems disjointed
eball replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
I haven’t looked at the play-by-play but it appeared to me the Bills made a concerted effort to run the ball on 1st and 2nd downs in the first half yesterday, and those plays were simply stuffed. It wasn’t the game plan, it was the execution and Washington was prepared to defend the run. I know everyone is up in arms about the 4th down call. I get it, I really do, but the Bills had not been “successful” all game in short yardage and it was a safe play call, the DL just made a good play. Only in the 4th quarter did the Bills finally wear down the Commandos and find success running. The Davis drop was a big drive killer. I think Dorsey is doing fine…we are spreading the ball around and still getting it to Diggs. Not every game is going to be the offense moving like a hot knife through butter. Washington has talent on defense. -
Meh. 2-2 today, obviously way off on the Broncos. They are terrible. I did grab the under on the Bills so at least I won the day.

9/24/23 Week 3 GAMEDAY Bills vs Commanders Pregame Thread
eball replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Spencer Brown did not have a “great” game if that is what you are implying. He was given tons of help and was still beaten pretty regularly by Crosby…the Bills simply had a good plan and Allen got the ball out quickly. -
I read that the DC Bills Backers bought 409 tickets that were all distributed to Bills fans. I think there is going to be a very vocal Buffalo contingent in the stands, although fans in Washington are finally back on the bandwagon with Snyder gone and the team off to a good start. Should be a fun atmosphere.

9/24/23 Week 3 GAMEDAY Bills vs Commanders Pregame Thread

Happy GameDay…the first “normal” one for me this season! Cooking up a little crabcake Benedict in a bit for brunch (with mimosas of course) and plan on enjoying a day of football starting with a big Bills win. Let’s Go, Buffalo!!! 19-1, Babyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! -
Pro picks can go here too, right? Here’s who I like today: Bills -5.5 Jets +2.5 Broncos +6 (yes, you read that correctly) Lions -3
-
Love the Bills at -5.5 today. This team has established a pattern over the past few years; when we win, we win big, and unless something crazy happens getting the healthy Bills laying less than a TD against a decidedly inferior opponent is about as good a wager as you can find in today’s NFL.
