  1. I really try not to get riled up over shows like this but those takes were so extreme and so uneducated it shocks me.
  2. Oh geez the “czar” talk. I’ve tried to forget that era. As for Marrone...I don’t dislike him because he jilted the Bills (I thought he was a decent but not great HC), I dislike him because he’s a thin-skinned quitter who has kept his reasons for leaving a “secret” all these years.
  3. My benchmarks to label this a successful season were: at least 8 wins, with no blowout losses (check) noticeable progression in Josh Allen's performance (check) top-notch defense (check) They've done everything I thought was reasonable at the start of the off-season -- and then some. And they did it more quickly than many believed was possible. Only those still clinging hopelessly to the "the roster already had talent and we didn't need to rebuild" vine are lagging behind...
  4. Nah...give me ten 1 p.m. games, two 4 p.m. games, and four prime time games. Let's mix it up.
  5. Seriously. Do people really give the Dolphins behind a motivated Fitzy NO chance in Foxboro the following week? I think it's a 20/80 proposition.
  6. I think three prime time games are a lock, with a chance for a 4th depending upon how far they go in the playoffs this year. I like your idea of Bills/Pats on the first Sunday/Monday night but that will be ruled out since the Bills will be hosting the Thursday night game.
  7. It would be the greatest disappearing act ever.
  8. What, are we supposed to be afraid? I always like getting a 2nd chance at knocking off a team who got the best of you the first time around. The Bills proved they can play with Baltimore.
  9. See: OC Dennison, QB Taylor
  10. I hear ya, but they are the team that I think makes it to the SB at the end of the day -- unless we stop them.
  11. ...I really do. I think Josh will be more prepared/have better answers for the blitzing, and I remain confident McD and Frazier can slow Lamar down. The Bills made a handful of mistakes in the first game and were still one completion away from taking the game to OT.
  12. Yes, but are you CONCERNED about his play?
  13. Having only Tre selected is perfect for this team -- it actually reinforces McD's message and gives the team yet another chip on their shoulders heading into Foxboro and the playoffs. That said -- congrats to the Tre White Goalie Academy graduate. He deserves every accolade he receives.
  14. And that, truly, is the point. The topic was started as a tongue-in-cheek jab at those who have been overly critical of McDermott while lamenting letting ALynn "get away" but nearing the end of the 3rd season for each the two organizations are trending in decidedly different directions. You are always going to see the stubborn, living-in-the-past "McD should have drafted Mahomes" people roaming the board, ignoring that not every team had that QB rated so highly and even the Chiefs sat him for a year. I think Lynn did a decent job his first two seasons guiding a talent-laden team into the playoffs, however beginning with their horrible preparation for the Pats*** in the playoffs last season they've been a real schitt show. Regardless of who you wanted at the time, if you are not a McD fan at this point you simply have an axe to grind.
  15. I don't recall such a situation but I may be forgetting something. In any event, I believe McD has taken strides forward (like the rest of the team) in his gameday and clock management. Some will argue he is too conservative at the end of first halves but his use of TOs to assess what another team is doing (either on offense or defense) at key moments has been brilliant. It has been mentioned by numerous commentators/analysts over the past several weeks now that Buffalo is getting national exposure.
  16. Sometimes you start a thread and get everything you hoped for...some around here are so predictable.
  17. This was confirmed long ago. "Don't let him leave the building."
  18. This is an incredibly insightful comment, and one I have also considered over the past couple of seasons. It literally took a train wreck like Rex to wake the Pegulas up, but thankfully they did. Unbelievably there are still some on this board who believe the Bills should have kept rolling with the roster of losers and "me first" players Whaley and Rex created.
  19. Actually Lynn took the L in Buffalo. He is 26-20 in SD/LA.
  20. Another example of McD pushing the right buttons. Taking away the "starting" position and limiting snap counts through the middle of the season sent the right message and Ed has responded.
  21. I'll interpret that to mean January/February of 2020.
  22. Asking for a friend. Interesting to note: their career W-L records are very similar: Lynn: 26-21 RS, 1-1 PS (1/3 playoff berths) McD: 25-21, 0-1 (2/3 playoff berths)
  23. Search the archives of TSW from this season alone and you'll find a lot of folks who don't pay attention.
