Random talking head says something about the Bills
eball replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD is one of the most aggressive 4th down coaches in the league; look it up. Did I want them to go for it in the 4th rather than kick the FG? Yes! But then I thought about it, and a team trying to come back down 3 vs down 6 is a significant difference. It’s not a “he doesn’t trust him” moment. His job is to win games. As for KC, the Bills played better on offense against the Chiefs than any other team KC played. They weren’t “conservative.” It’s not a rebuilding year, it’s a transition year away from older players who couldn’t get it done. -
Week 2 - Bills at Dolphins - Game Week Thread

Given the Bills’ (and McD’s) recent history against the Fish, what in god’s name makes you think this would happen? -
Fair point. My flight leaves RDU at 8 am tomorrow.

Random talking head says something about the Bills

What? These statements are dumbfounding. McD has too much trust in him, otherwise he wouldn’t allow him to put his body on the line the way he does. McD understands that he can (and must) talk to Josh about protecting himself but the worst thing he could do is to demand he stop playing the only way he knows how. I guarantee you Josh doesn’t feel sorry for himself or bemoan the team he is playing with. We have a beast at QB who is always going to lay it on the line to get the W. I don’t understand why fans don’t realize this and can’t simply enjoy what we have. It’s a hell of a lot of fun it you let it be. Tired? Dude, perhaps you should find a different hobby. -
Best Bills kits are blue over white, white over blue, and white over white. That’s where it should begin and end. All blues, all reds need to disappear.

Damn, thought there would be more activity here…are folks really not going to Miami?

You’ve got to believe Kromer and the coaches see what’s going on with Torrence as well. They’ll fix it or we may start to see someone else in there. For all of the “it was Arizona and they stink” crowd…Buffalo scored 31 points in the final 31 minutes of the game, after a slow start by the defense that kept the offense off the field.

Week 2 - Bills at Dolphins - Game Week Thread
eball replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have no idea what the final score will be Thursday night, but the likelihood of the Fish “having their way” with Buffalo is pretty damn close to 0. It is far more likely that the Fish are unable to slow down the Buffalo O and have to try to play catch-up, which plays right into our hands. The Bills need to clean up the penalties and continue to play complementary football. They will be fine. And we all know the Fish are Josh’s b-i-t-c-h-e-s. -
I didn’t see another thread like this…apologies if one was already started. Who will be there? The wife and I will be making our 4th consecutive trip to this game; can’t wait!

Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
eball replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t really care much about the “proving doubters wrong” aspect of things. Everyone with an ounce of sense knows Miller was simply not fully recovered from his injury last season but played anyway. He didn’t suddenly “forget” how to play football and rush the passer, he just wasn’t healthy. On Sunday Miller looked and played like a legitimate NFL defensive end. That’s all we can ask for and I hope it continues. -
Did McD start calling the plays in the 2nd half? The answer is no. It was WEEK ONE. It was Babich’s first regular season game, ever, calling the plays. He did a hell of a job. As for Brady’s game plan? Why would he show too much in the opener, against a non-conference opponent, with the early season schedule the Bills are facing? I have no doubt this was a deliberate “win the game but let’s not spoil all the surprises” strategy to get out of there with a win. And the running game was good. Fans hate the first down runs for little or no gain but it’s all just setting stuff up for down the road. Relax. Come back and critique the coordinators after they’ve managed a half dozen games.

Please do enlighten us as to the exact reason you found a need to post that drivel in this thread.

Is this post/thread for real? First of all, it’s weak freaking one, which everyone knows is NOT indicative of how a season is going to progress. The goal is to work out the kinks and try to come out with a W. Mission accomplished. Secondly, the defense nearly pitched a shutout in the 2nd half. The offense put up 34 and could have had more. The kickoff return sucked. Live with it.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread
eball replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s not good to live your life in fear. The Bills have 4 healthy DEs for gameday, which is all they need, and are 4-deep at DT also. The DL should be the least of your worries…but I’m sure you have many more. -
The dude is a giant and athletic freak, has a great, kick-ass attitude, and seems to have gotten over the injury bug. This is exactly the type of player you want to reward and keep around.
-
So a little more than 2 pressures per game? I can live with that. Did you watch the Ravens' OL last night?
-
Hilarious. Yeah, I'm not quite sure what point he's trying to make or prove. The Pegulas are "all in" on Buffalo and why somebody needs to pick nits about how much time they did or didn't spend here growing up is an odd crusade.
-
Since when do people consider RTs "game changers?" The job of the RT is to keep our "game changer" upright and block for other "game changers" to make yards and score touchdowns.
-
They drafted the next LT this year and he'll get a couple of seasons to mature as the swing tackle.

How many significant plays did Bernard make two seasons ago?
-
And you've made this determination based upon what? His rookie season as a raw, developmental player? His athletic measurables are off the charts.
-
One of the biggest stories heading into the season is how Dorian will fill Milano’s huge shoes. I just read today’s article in The Buffalo News about his background, and it sure is hard not to root for this kid. Really hoping for a Bernard-like awakening this season…he definitely has the tools and a good head on his shoulders.

Wrong on so many levels. I can’t think of a Bills fan who would want Lamar instead of Josh. There is literally no reason to “hate” on Lamar; it’s not as if he voted himself MVP. It is reasonable, however, to question the voters who continue to ignore Josh’s production and, by comparison, his success in the playoffs. As for Lamar’s play last night…he did what he could to keep them in the game. He’s not a refined, accurate passer and never has been, but he made play after play and was a toe away from sending that game to OT. He’s always going to miss throws you think he should make, but he’s also going to make plays only he can make.

They will survive.

Unranked only because she was out 9 months with an injury. She is a top 10 talent. Great grit and determination by Jess tonight. I watched the whole thing on my iPad with the football game on the big screen. She did Buffalo proud.
