Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
eball replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have a feeling that all of this “finishing” work will be stuff that not many attendees will know about or even notice…I think you’ve noted in this thread previously that the remaining work after “substantial completion” is akin to a punch list after closing on a house. -
Could there be a more naive statement than this? LOL Bye bye Pat Patriot.

I’m sure it’s worth something, but I also don’t think a trade contractor likely knows everything either. I mean, what would take another three years? -
Bills asking fans to wear all white for the Pats game on Sunday
eball replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
LOL it’s not about cuckolding…the song is about the lead singer’s real life experience catching his girlfriend cheating and then trying to “look on the bright side” through that trauma. -
I like it. Davis dropped weight and doesn’t look as good this year (admittedly small sample size), plus with how well Cook is playing and how good Gore ran in the preseason I don’t think the Bills lose much while getting that pick back. Those saying Knox is being supplanted really don’t get it. At all. The Bills like all three TEs and use them in different roles. Knox isn’t going anywhere and is a big part of what they’re doing; he’s playing over 50% of the snaps.

First view of the seats! Seems as though they really are putting in a “splatter” pattern of blue and red like the renderings depicted…looks cool. -
Can’t think that way as an NFL coach. They’re trying to win every game. McD knows the best path to the Super Bowl is the #1 seed. Now, will he give a guy an extra week if he’s not “all the way back” — probably depends on the opponent.

If even 75% of the fans comply, it will make for an awesome spectacle on TV. Do it, people!!! -

The fact you believe anything you wear has anything to do with the team’s performance tells me all I need to know. -
INCOMPLETE. I’ll keep saying it until I’m blue in the face. Anyone who judges the Bills defense right now just doesn’t understand what’s going on. This is a work in progress and they have another month to get guys back and figure it out. In the meantime they’ve given up 50 points in three games and folks are losing their s-h-I-t because it’s not 4-0 enough for them.

[enters room...looks around...] Yep, lotsa old white dudes in here.

How many times does it need to be repeated that this defense is not yet complete? It’s not just the two suspended DL…it’s also a healthy Ed, getting Hairston into the mix, having Bishop and the rookie DL get more snaps. You can’t just snap your fingers and have all of those pieces come together, which is why it’s frustrating to read the same things from the same people complaining about an incomplete unit. The Bills are fortunate that the offense is so good and their schedule permits them to have some struggles on defense early in the season. If the defense can’t get off the field against good teams in November and December I’ll gladly admit the obvious, but I have more optimistic expectations.

Do folks really not understand what sort of a difference a healthy Oliver and two more DL additions will make for this defense? Were people not encouraged by Babich switching things up on 3rd down and bringing pressure? Did people not witness an amazing read and athletic play by a young safety starting to figure things out? And do fans not understand that with a healthy Josh Allen and James Cook this offense can (and does) score 30+ points per week without batting an eyelash? The Bills won another NFL football game by double digits. I’m sorry for those who lost on the spread. This wasn’t the 14-9 debacle of a win against the NYG a couple of seasons ago, but many seem to be treating it like that.

Hey is this the place for me to come and b-I-t-c-h about the only undefeated team in the AFC and how many problems there are?

There is no question that losing this game helps the Bills playoff chances. It has been proven time and time again.

Josh being Josh for cancer-stricken kid & his family
eball replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
We don’t deserve him and yet we do, all at the same time. It’s unique to see a player so completely embody a community. Love this guy. Go Bills. -
Watching it now. I find I like more of the Euro golfers than the Americans, and these days I’m feeling very little national pride so I’m just rooting for a tight match that is exciting on Sunday. Edit: I do feel some local pride for Chapel Hill product Ben Griffin and hope he has a good tournament.

The worst part was Hapless shutting the thread down before the game. I don’t remember, was there an aftermath?
-
C’mon, Mitch gets our appreciation for being Josh’s mentor early in his career. That alone earns him the right to “lead the charge.”
-
That’s actually a pretty clean injury report for W4…too bad it’s four starters, but they can rest and the Bills should be ok.

I posted upthread...Houston and Denver this week.

Herbert’s getting the love because Harbaugh gushes over him like he’s God, and everyone loves a Harbaugh sound bite. No “real” NFL experts put Herbert in Josh’s class.
-
More on this…over his last 13 games (regular season and playoffs) Josh has accounted for 30 TDs and 1 TO. Mind-blowing stuff.

I hate to say it because I actually like Lamar (and I’m ashamed of myself for referring to him as Lamont in prior years), but he may have the biggest monkey on his back in the league as a QB. He has, for better or worse, established himself as a stats padding, electric QB during the regular season that doesn’t really seem to get it done consistently when it really matters. That has now happened twice in three weeks this season, with what many call the best/deepest roster in the NFL (you know my feelings on that). People rag on Allen for “not winning anything” but he has performed light years ahead of Lamar under the brightest lights (playoffs). What’s more, you just expect Allen to get over the hump at some point and I don’t feel the same way about Lamar. I won’t fear the Ravens if we face them again in the playoffs because I put my chips behind Allen over Lamar every day.
