It is, however, uncommon for Brady to be in his 40's. At some point he won't be him anymore, why not not now! Pats shaky 10-6, Bills in playoffs, until proven otherwise. Kidding aside, I was shocked how inaccurate Brady was. And he did not look at all at ease with his wideouts. That will improve, of course, but he is going to miss Edelman all year and Amendola is sure to miss significant time over the season.

I Can't Wait 'Til The Home Opener!!!!!!

Go Bills! Playoffs! Hope springs eternal. Optimism with or without cause rules! Can't wait until kickoff! -
No need to tank in today's NFL. It is an absurd idea - even the "suck for Luck" drive has arguably been a failure (except in the getting Luck part). We are retooling, not tanking, and if the team over-performs a bit we could slip into the playoffs. And wasn't that Pats loss a beautiful thing to behold! I know we want Chiefs to lose every game, but I can't believe any true Bills fan could sit there and not be delighted while the Patsies lose at home on the night they were presented with their rings. Watching Brady get drilled while trying to play catch-up at the end was priceless. Like one of the Bills games only it was the Pats!

Bills "can't wait to unleash Tyrod Taylor"
MarlinTheMagician replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Taylor provides stability at the QB position. He does not turn the ball over. He may not win you a lot of games, but he won't lose many either. And because of his "unique attributes" (legs/deep ball), he puts up points. He does not look conventional in doing so and clearly has challenges as a passer. But we coudl be much, much worse off. The talking heads see him as "underrated." I would not be so quick to run him out of town, even if we pick one QB high. Number 1 pick QBs flame often. I will never understand why it is either (from the lovers) "one more year and he will develop and be our guy" or "he will never be a franchise quarterback and has to go." I don't know that either is true. Two years of evidence proves he is responsible with the ball and will get you some points. Like any position we should always be looking to upgrade. That doesn't mean a hard-working team player like Tyrod needs to go. if we had a decent defense either of the last two years we produced enough offense to make the playoffs. -

Right now Sammy is likely to cost LA Aaron Donald. -

Count me in on the "thank God they shipped him to LA" camp. Watch. Sammy = good 2017; PUP list 2018. -
Dalton sucks the big one. He was terrible last year when his weapons were not what they were. Do you not remember when we played them? Snore bowl. Bills = Playoffs. Pats - shaky 10-6. Nobody plays QB in the NFL until age 50. So we have at least a 1/10 chance Brady starts his decline into suck this year.

Bills had 22.4 and 24.9 points per game last two years. More of the same would look like 23+. I don't believe we scored those points because of inferior competition. 23 points per game and a defense that did not suck would look pretty good. -

So sick of the Watkins whining. He will have a good year as he plays for a contract. What I would not want is the 2018 and forward risk. Only time will tell, but no way I would give Sammy $15+ million a year no matter what he does in his contract year. To get a starting CB and a high pick for not doing so was GENIUS! Never has a WR with such modest on-field achievement been so mourned. You would think we traded Rice in his prime. -
Dalton sucks. Tyrod belongs in that group. Saying Andy Dalton and Alex Smith are better than Tyrod and Tannehill is splitting hairs. All decent, none great. Many QBs like them. Pats got lit up by Alex Smith, who nobody has love for at the "elite" level - not even his coach. I have always liked Smith more than most, but no denying what a middling QB did to Belicheat's defense. If you think he is elite, we should get him when they start Mahomes next year. This board would explode. Pats D has a chance to be very bad. Hightower proved they are not deep at LB. Highly questionable pass rush. Can't seem to stop the run.

1.VS. Jets - Win At Panthers - Loss Vs. Denver - Win (2) At Falcons - Loss At Bengals - Win (3) vs. Bucs - Win (4) From there, six more wins and we make playoffs. They will be Fish 2x (6 wins), Saints at home (7), Dolts (8), Jets again (9) plus one of either split the Pats or take the Chargers on the road.

Brady looked like Jim Kelly circa 1996. Just for a minute pretend that the Chefs hung 42 points on our defense. DOOMED. The Chefs (as I like to call them) are a good team, but NO ONE called their offense "elite" this preseason. What I heard is Alex Smith/Andy Dalton/Tyrod/Tannehill and those like them are okay, but not "elite" enough to win. I heard Chefs have no wideouts because Macklin is gone (sounds like us), and they are taking a huge risk relying on Hill. I heard they don't have their star back anymore. Talking heads were wrong, that offense is pretty good. But they are not elite. Pats D sucked out loud.

Admittedly I am a fan of Tyrod's, but I have to admit I have some serious doubt as to whether he will ever see the whole field or throw with anticipation. Having said that, he is at worst a competent QB. And his legs and deep ball coupled with McCoy means we will score some points. All comes down to how strong the D can be, IMHO. We may need them to be very strong, but maybe they can be. Still a unit with a lot of talent. Hyde, Hughes, Williams, Dareus, Brown, White, Lorax -- it is a group with meaningful ability if maximized. -
And one other thing - every year a team that is supposed to be great stinks. I remember that Eagles dream team. I don't think they will stink, but Pats could be a lot less impressive than the talking heads think. They are older. They got dominated for 75% of that Super Bowl. Their defense appears weak. Their supposed elite "adds" -- Cooks, Gilly, Gilmore, Dorsett - they all have to be integrated, which ain't easy. Edelman is a huge loss for Brady. I know it is heresy, but I am calling them a shaky 10-6. Brady misses some time, as he is forced to play some catch-up in certain games due to weak D and gets hit more than he likes. 40 is 40, and it hurts to get hit by high-speed Giants. Say it from the Chefs at end of game. He is a pretty stationary target at this point when forced to play from behind. "Saw it from the Chiefs" sorry.

Absolutely COULD make the playoffs, not saying they will. Home vs. Jets - winnable. Road vs. Carolina - they were not good last year, Cam is dinged, not the same team that went to the Super Bowl. Not 50% chance perhaps, but certainly winnable. We will beat Denver at home - they faded badly last year. You heard it hear first. Loss at Atlanta. Cinci not very good. Winnable, even if road dogs, certainly they should play the game. Tampa at home - we win that game too. Oakland at home - I think we lose, but we certainly could win. As we make the turn - If so - I can see us beating Jets again, Fish 2x, Indianapolis at home, let's assume Pats beat us twice, still: Saints at home - winnable. San Diego on road? Dogs, but winnable. Depending how team gels we could be in the dance, especially if offense does not regress and I see no reason why it should. Wideouts likely better than those that actually played last year. Defense will be better. Of course we could lose any game, so we could be the 5-11 team everyone says we are, but I see no reason to be resigned to it at this stage. 50 years of optimism. Like a broken watch, I am right every decade or two ;-) Go Bills!
