  1. Yeah - thats a good point i guess. Just seems like it'd be easy to get away with taking a couple of pills than blowing lines off the urinal at halftime. I guess it also depends on what results in more success on the field.
  2. Interesting - seems rather expensive too (at least at a non nfl level paygrade). I would think amphetamines used to treat like ADHD (ritalin) would be really helpful for football though. Laser focus, little to no fatigue, and they're engineered to last longer. Not sure the NFL was testing for it at the time, was super easy to get a script for too.
  3. I would think they fine them. I think this happened a while back and there weren't picks forfeited or anything. headphones are so tiny now... this will become an ongoing problem that they'll have to address in the next CBA.
  4. They had pepper johnson - but he only made all-pro once. Harry Carson is in the HOF and he was on that 86 team. This is before my time - so its going to be based off of all-pro and HOFers.
  5. Yeah - but the like jolt of energy you get lasts like 10 minutes. You get a bit of a sustained high, but mostly that just keeps you up all night at a craps table. Honestly, i think you're more alert after smelling salts than coke. I would think amphetamines would be more beneficial to performance since it lasts longer. Germans used them in WW2, and from what i remember it was pretty popular in baseball in the 60s.
  6. Actually a lot of the team's we have played have had solid pass D units. NEx2, Pit, Bal, Cle, Dal, Den - 7 games against the current top 10 pass defense groups from a YPG stand point.
  7. I wouldn't hate if we went with 2 WRs in the first 3 rounds. Especially if there's some success at other positions in free agency. Foster, Duke, McKenzie could all be upgraded.
  8. Yeah i agree - use it to get some valuable reps. I'd probably avoid scrambling too much and be prepared to throw it away a bit more.
  9. Hard to say - only guys who might be inactive would be maybe singletary, brown, morse? Everyone else you just play starters for a bit then ease in backups. Barkley probably gets some heavy usage and its a gore/yeldon/perry game. More foster and maybe duke?
  10. I don't even disagree that he did well with what was there. But i don't think that was a good offense.
  11. Tunsil leads the NFL in pre snap penalties. At the end of the day all-pro is all that really matters. And Tre is the only all-pro on this team
  12. Guys I'd be interested in by position: QB: Not a free agent, but cut candidate - Andy Dalton RB: Kenyan Drake - Not sure he'd come here since he probably wants a feature role, but i always thought he was really talented WR: None of the UFAs really impress me as i doubt we make a run at cooper. I'd be willing to trade for someone like Diggs or A. Robinson.. but this looks like a position that won't be addressed until the draft OL: Depends how they see ford. If they really want to roll him at RT, then i'd say try and bring back spain. Otherwise Make a run at RT - there's a few names that should be available. DL: I'd like to keep our own, and probably draft another pass rusher. LB: Depth needed here, probably an overpay for dupree or judon but they could both add some wrinkles here.
  13. 3 words.... best... player... available... Qbs will sneak into the top 20, there will probably be like 4 or 5 taken before Buffalo picks. Go for a star in round 1 - don't care where he plays.
  14. If the 2019 Bills were 14th in yards per game - thats an extra 19 yards per game. If they were 14th in Points per game, thats an extra 2.8 points per game. However... PPG also factors in D/ST though... which the 2011 bills had 6 defensive touchdowns and 1 special teams TD. Taking those out would bring the offense to 323 points for the year.... Right around the 23rd ranking that the 2019 bills offense has... Taking out the lone ST TD that this buffalo offense has scored would put them at 284 points for the year averaging about 20 PPG. Turnover rate was 5 percent higher... the 3rd down conversion rate was 5% lower. RZ scoring rate was worse. I think the 2019 team will end up with more first downs too. Just wanted to vent because people literally bring up Chan Gailey all the time like he invented offense.
  15. I dunno - insane amount of turnovers with is productive creative offense. Screams "not detail oriented" to me
  16. He's actually a good tackler... he took a bad angle and tried to force him out of bounds. He tries to wrap him up and he's probably getting stiff armed. Re: cutting him - He's an ERFA - No one can offer sheet him and we don't have to pay him anything. That may be the worst take ever.
  17. Chan did a good job without a lot of talent. But people really overrate those offenses that he had. 2011 was the best Gailey offense - 14th in points and 14th in yards (The only year his O was in the top half of the league) and a ton of turnovers that didn't help the defense. The bad defense that everyone complains about was tied for 5th in the league with 31 takeaways, and even scored 5 TDs (6 if you count a PR by Leodis). Fitz and the vaunted Chan Gailey O everyone loves so much gave the ball back 30 times. I'm just sick of the revisionist history of him leading fitz to this like juggernaut offense that was held back by the defense. They were a bad team - on both sides of the ball. Maybe slightly moreso on the defense but several losses that year are completely on the Gailey Offense.
  18. Will it be on locally in Massachusetts? Gonna be in hostile territory for this one...
  19. He does hold the ball out away from his body while running. He'll learn - On your chest and arm tucked in.
  20. I'd consider it a relatively small sample size - Still not ideal.
  21. Wasn't he a big partier when he was here? ROR that is.
  22. I think the hurst one was on Poyer. The one in this game i think wallace may have screwed up as he wasn't covering anyone underneath in quarters and the pass was completed in his quarter.
  23. I think he has to catch that - he's not going to say anything differently.
  24. Yeah - he was in the conversation in that 2nd level of guys. Gotta remember - He started in 2012 and guys like Bailey and Tillman were still back there. Casey Hayward was really good for a few years when healthy. Sherman was dominant. Peterson was awesome. Haden. Revis. Harris. Talib. Even that jerk Vontae Davis. Norman was awesome with carolina for a couple of years. Peters. Lot of guys who I think were better for a time. He's found his stride and his role. He gets to play man a lot, and he's trusted to do it sometimes with no help. He's making plays when theyre there to be made and just generally taking away half the field. While he was very good here - i don't think he did that.
  25. I'd say white is likely a 1st teamer. There's a few guys who could sneak in as 2nd teamers though. Phillips could sneak into first or 2nd - 9.5 sacks for a DT is a lot, and leads the AFC for interior linemen. Brown has a chance for 2nd team ? Needs a serious push though Sutton, Hopkins, Allen seem like locks and edelman and chark are all right there.
