Vikings Oline coach Phil Rauscher (Twitter speculation)

Minnesota had a lot of young guys on their line. I think 4 guys on rookie deals? Lot of investment there, but from a pass pro standpoint nothing seems to stick out. In the last 4 years they have used 2 1sts, 2 2nds, and a 3rd. -
FA Target Wishlist - Cordarrelle Patterson

I like patterson - but 8-10M for a gadget RB/WR/KR is a lot. He also doesn't return punts which means Hyde? Or a new WR/DB that isn't on the roster yet. -

You don't save money on the cap by cutting bease if his replacement has like double the cap hit. -
Yeah i think it was in the new CBA. Oh well... for better or worse he's ours 🙂
-
I don't want to trade him tbh - the replacement options are going to be worse. If you draft someone I'd still want edmunds around most likely. Star has little savings (only about 1.5M). I'm not sure thats enough to sign the replacement unless its in the draft - in which case removing him is getting your pick playing time. Not sure where they stand on Phillips but I think they'd like to bring him back.

I thought 5th year options were only injury guaranteed now. I believe it locks in on the first league day though.

The only connection i see is Rick Dennison. Who he replaced when he wouldn't get vaccinated. Lot of young players on that offensive line and they didn't have any glaring pass pro issues. All with a first time play caller in Klint Kubiak. -
There's work but its not that hard to me. You can add a void year to beasley and star's deals to lower the cap charges. Milanos 7.5M base salary can be pushed. Same with Morse's 6.9M (could extend or tack on a void year), and Dawkins 8.1. Diggs is probably nearing an extension - added years means lowering the 12.5 base salary he has. Mongo, Matakevich, Klein cuts would get them under. Williams or Morse could also be released for significant savings. Edmunds extension would considerably lower the cap charge, but I'm reluctant to pay him what he probably wants. I'd look in early rounds for a suitable replacement and develop them in the year with the expectation that edmunds walks in 2023.

Its his 5th year option. You can negotiate an extension - or just keep him on the 1 year deal and draft a replacement.

I like it - has worked with Tom Cable and Bill Callahan in his career. Outside of Scarrnechia they're 2 of the best. I see it as an upgrade. -
Dorsey ran a lot of 12 personnel packages

The question is moreso - what would Ken have wanted to do if he had Allen's ability? -
Paid - Milano, allen, white, Dawkins, Hyde, poyer. Edmunds is on an expensive 5th year option. Williams Morse Feliciano have decent contracts as well.

He missed 2 games so the yardage total would be closer to 650 at the standard averages. Considering behind him is trash and a fullback, i'm definitely ok with drafting a TE. You tend to not find the pro bowlers early in the draft, and they usually take a bit of time behind someone to get their feet wet. It's not a position where a rookie usually makes an impact.

Malik Willis: The next Josh Allen?
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's so easy to flame out at QB. Developing pocket presence, accuracy, platform. The confidence to throw in tight windows, the body clock. The list goes on. I like that Beane still goes with toolsets on a lot of his draft picks though. Big arm QB. Long armed DE in Rousseau. Explosive jump in Oliver. Size and speed in edmunds. etc. They won't all work out, but if players develop their peak is higher than others at the position. -
Joe Brady for QB Coach? [Now Hired]
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he'd need 2... but what do i know. Usually the 1 and done coordinators work under someone like McVay at HC - they come from an offensive tree. Dorsey has worked under Shula and Rivera. He was fired when they brought in norv turner. I agree, helps get some of the stink off of you to join a team with a more talented offense. -

Their offensive line was a WRECK last year. They used 11 different guys, and their starting center played less than half the snaps. I don't think its a particularly strong unit even with fewer injuries. In addition the best playmaker played less than 300 snaps with injuries, and they used 3 QBs - Darnold who needs a run game/protection (got neither), Newton (no arm), and Walker (Probably not an NFL player). Bill walsh couldn't have done a thing with that team. -
Mike McDaniel hired as HC by Miami

Unpopular opinion? Tua is fine, the offensive line and backs are absolute trash. The good part is they don't really have any massively overpaid players on the line, so they can invest in it. But from left to right they need upgrades (jesse davis is fine at RT). If you want to run a shanahan offense though, they need to rebuild the entire thing. Also Unpopular opinion - Their defense is super overrated. I assume bringing in an offensive guy they'll probably not make many changes on the defensive personnel, but they probably should. Jaelan Phillips got 5 of 9 sacks against Carolina (In the Cam/PJ walker combined game) and NYG (Mike Glennon and a trash oline). -
I don't know how they'll swing everything - but they can't run back the super bowl roster again. Brady, gronk, suh all out. Godwin i doubt they would franchise tag him again because it would kill their ability to sign anyone (almost 20M in cap charge if they tag him, and that space is taken up while they try to negotiate an extension).
-
Atlanta's defense is trash though... Tampa still has quite a bit of talent on the roster even if they're likely to see considerable turnover. What they do at QB will be the big question, and I can see them making the push for Watson. Arians is almost 70, the team's still good, weak QB draft - they seem like the type of team to ignore indiscretions for a shot at the title.

Elite talent matters

Wasn't O'Dell able to pick his destination tho? They tried to get watt in the off-season too if ur thinking about adding a top level player. I don't think they were willing to spend all their day 2 picks on Miller. When ur the rams u can sign all the free agents, it doesn't really work that way here. -
The D definitely carried the 49ers during his tenure. Then Patrick Willis, and Justin Smith retired. The guy Borland who started when Bowman was out even retired. Aldon Smith got his 3rd DUI after the suspension filled 2014 season. Even Anthony Davis retired on the offense. Never really got to see what the team was capable of without harbaugh.

Cuz that type of limited offense doesn't tend to win super bowls. You have to be able to run the ball for sure, but I don't know that you should build an entire offense around it when your best player is your QB. 2008 Steelers are an example (they avoided both Manning (L to chargers)and Brady (injury) in that postseason). 2019 49ers were close as they obviously got there... But Jimmy G in the 4th quarter of that game was the reason they didn't win it. The Eagles got there because Wentz played great before his injury, and Pederson/Reich called a masterpiece in the Super bowl - I wouldn't call them a "ball control" offense necessarily.
