  1. Why? because Fewell thought he knew the BIlls of old, and that's what he expected us to do, hence the single coverage on SJ.. This isn't rocket science. The Giants loaded the box expecting us to kill the clock, and take the FG. SJ was in man coverage and it was the RIGHT call IMO, and if Fitz hits the throw we win and this discussion is moot. Tim-
  2. This^^^ Perspective folks. I was thinking about the Loyd, Wayne trade rumors and I was thinking that at first I admit I thought it might be a good idea for the right price, I realize that there are a lot worse off teams than us, and our price would not even be considered. That said, we're really not that bad off. This is year 2 of an 11 rebuilding project And we have the right people at the helm, IMO. I see us being maybe two, or three solid picks away from being a consistent playoff team. I'm willing to be happy with a playoff birth this year, or winning record at least, and a good run next year at the division title. No need to give up our future quite yet. We're 6 points from 6 - 0 record (if you'r e glass half full guy like me) and a few feet short of winning this game.. I'm not about to lose my mind just yet.. Go Bills! Tim-
  3. Not to mention that NY Giants played mistake free yesterday.. They needed to do that, and they did. Credit where credit is due! Tim-
  4. Besides the fact that Fitz underthrew him (Twice) my concern is that Fitz (Gailey) called the wrong number several times in this game. I watched the DVR version of the game late last night (Gawd I love my DVR) and I paid particular attention to CJ. I have to say that almost, and I mean almost every time except once, Spiller was open on his routes. The CB for NY (his name escapes me) was very respectful of CJ's speed, and Spiller pulled up many times with mountains of room for a sideline throw. To Fitz's credit he spotted it a couple of times and got CJ the ball, but if Fitz had looked this way more often he'd have seen that CJ was open all day? If you're going to call the deep route then you have your fastest guy running the route, and to SJ's credit he was open both times, but not open enough that Fitz could see that he needed to lead him more. With more separation perhaps Fitz would have seen more daylight between the two and it would have been easier to gauge the throws? I dunno, second guessing and all, just making some observations. I wonder if Gailey and Co actually read these forums because I and a few others have been saying for a while now that if you can't involve CJ in the run game, then split him out more.. Seems someone is listening. Couple of other things I noticed. Looks like Fitz went away from the slant route after SJ was well defended that one time in the 2nd. However, I saw that SJ was open a few times after that on the same route.. All in all, a tough loss, we could easily be 6 - 0 losing by a combined 6 points in our two losses, but we could just as easily be 1 - 5 as well.. We have two weeks to get healthy, and re-group. I like our chances in Washington with a well rested, and re-focued team. Was anyone else at the edge of their seat when Dallas went up yesterday late? Tim-
  5. Did a search this morning and almost everyone is picking the BIlls to win against the Giants? Don't get me wrong I like the respect, but last time this happened we lost to Cincy.. Giant's are banged up, but so are we.. I think the game will be close but the Bills play for 60 minutes, and we squeak this out but still nervous.. Thoughts? Tim-
  6. I like this deal if we beat the Giants. If not, then it's entirely too early to make this move. Even if we do pull the trigger, it would need to include an extension, and no more than a 3rd rounder, IMO. Tim-
  7. Hehehe.. Hey it's early, only one cup of coffee.. Cut a fan some slack boys! Tim-
  8. Ok, so I've watched, and re-watched the Eagles game, and each time I was focusing on several key positions. Last night I was watching Hariston, and I gotta tell ya. Other thana few times where he got beat on the outside with a speed rush, he did really well. I did exceptional in the run game, and broke Freddy out a few times. On the times he got beat, Fitz was quick enough to get the ball off anyway so no harm no foul. Hariston seems stronger than Bell, but Bell seems quicker. I'm not sure at this point which tackle I like better, but one thing is for sure, at least up to this point, we have depth there. Good job Bills coaching staff! Tim-
  9. The ONLY game we need to worry about right now is The Giants! Tim-
  10. Dude, this what I've been saying since game two. It occured to me that it might just be the plan all along that pressure, NOT sacks is the game plan. Cutting off the opposing QB's "favorite" throwing lanes, and getting hands in the face of the QB. Unadulterated blitzing has been shown to be suspect MANY, AMNY times with teams getting burned by the run, or screens. Our D-Line has done well, and I see them getting better, not worse. Your analysis is on par with mine, and why I think we are better than most people think up front. Tim-
  11. Speaking of analysts. I haven't heard anything negative about Darius, in fact, everything I've heard from ANYONE worht their salt is nothing but A+ on the Marcel pick for the Bills. He hasn't disappointed at all, and he looks this good as a rookie. What can we expect from this guy as he matures and begins to figure out specific tackles he faces game in and game out?? This guy could be better than Smith, and that's saying something! Tim-
  12. This^^ And also, word is Spiller is being groomed for a few downfield routes from the slot position? Why not, right? he's only the fastest guy we have on the field, why not try a few down field? Not sure how good his hands are, but boy, if we could use him in this function once in a while, it would drive DC's nutz.. Tim-
  13. Reason #29 - The Bills can't even afford full size trainors, how can a team expect quality athletic support from midgets? Tim-
  14. I'm still waiting for our O-Line to look average, but alas, so far they are anything but average, in fact I believe they're ranked first in the NFL. So, our O-Line against their D-Line we win. Ok, so let's look at the QB position? Manning is prone to the pick, whereas Fitz not so much. I like our QB matchup, as Fitz makes fewer mistakes, that's a win. Ok, running backs? Our running attack is better than theirs, we win here as well. Takeaway's we win. Secondary is solid (Despite what some here are saying) I truly believe that it has been the strategy of our defense this year to pressure the throwing lanes of opposing QB's, yes sacks are great, but let's face it, this defensive scheme seems to be working great for turnovers, so who am I to argue with it? I've watched some film on the Giants, and it appears as though Fewell is giving up 9, 10 yard slant routes all day long. if this trend continues Fitz, Stevie, Rosevelt, CJ, and even Freddy will mop up all day long if they keep giving that up on defense? We're missing the deep threat which mihgt hurt us, and cause Fewell to change things up a bit, but I doubt it. On offense, the Giants appear less creative, in fact really dry. I don't see Gailey having a hard time matching our guys up with what we do well vs, what they do poorly. I don't see a blow out, and I see a 60 minute game, but if we can get up early, take away their running game, we force Manning into our secondary, and I think that bodes well for our guys, more than theirs. Bills 24 - Giants 17 .. Early line has the Giants up 3 points at home which tells me that as far as vegas is concerned, they don't know either.. Tim-
  15. They've moved on to "detracting" CJ Spiller instead.. Tim-
  16. My keys on Defense for victory on Sunday. 1. This is a frustrated team, in fact one might say that they're not a team at all, but merely a collection of individuals. If we can frustrate them early, it bodes well for the rest of the game, as Vick & Co will make mistakes in desparation. 2. Stuff the receivers off the line, and protect the outside routes. Make Vick throw into the middle of the field where he's more vulnerable. 3. With the Eagles O-Line, Vick will have barely 3 sec to get the ball off, get our hands in his face as often as possible. 4. Put Batten/Barnet, or Wilson scouting Vick, playing short field middle zone. 5. Do not ever allow McKelvin man to man on Jackson, make sure he has help in either zone, or doubled with Byrd. 6. Hey, how about we actually design some blitz packages in this game, and actually use them, both run and pass blitz should be effective against this O-Line. My Keys on Offense: 1. The middle for the Eagles is where we need to attack them, Chandler, Spiller, Freddy, Rosevelt, Nelson all could have big games here. 2. Run the ball with Freddy through the middle, and with CJ in bubble screens, or pitch-outs. 3. Accuracy will be key for Fitzy, he needs to not turn the ball over in this game. Better to punt than to turn it over. 4. Field goals are ok in this game, scoring points when we can is what we should be doing. TD's are great but inside the 35 I'll take 3 all day long. 5. 3rd down and short, or manageable distance. We need to extend drives and keep Vick off the field. 6. Use Brad in the wildcat on 2nd and 3rd and short situations. Maybe have him throw the damn ball a few times, as this will have the effect on the DC who probably hasn't planned for it. All in all, pretty basic stuff, and execution is the word of the day. If we execute, we win, if we don't we lose. Bills 27 Eagles 20 Tim-
  17. Well, I'm going to be there doing all that I and my 4 friends can to seal the deal.. Go Bills! Tim-
  18. This^^ Wow, I expected more integrity from HW on this one? My gawd it's not like he actually said what the media said he said.. stay strong against PC folks, it is going to kill our country if it hasn't already.. Tim-
  19. Thanks, hmmm.. I see some here's logic on the Jets winning.. Ah well, I hope its a high scoring game, and both QB's gove up lots of picks.. Oh, and wouldn't hurt if Welker got injured for a few games. Nothing career ending just a little roughed up is all.. Tim-
  20. Although I had the Bills beating Cincy pre season prediction, I had them losing to the Patriots, so I'm still 3 - 1 where I thought they'd be at this time. I'm over the Cincy loss, let's move on. I have great seats for the Eagles game and the word is that the weather is going to cooperate around 75 degrees Sunday.. Woot! Go Bills! I think there's a real good chance (If we beat Philly) to go on to beat the Giants and go into the bye 5 - 1. Not bad! Tim-
  21. I think I want the Pat's to win this one. Let's face it, they are the stronger team, and would much rather be battling it out with the Jets than NE come week 14 on. What are your thoughts for this Sunday's game? Tim-
  22. We'll see what Chan is really all about as far as coaching is concerned this week against Philly. If we come away with a W, I say that the Cincy burp was just that, a burp, and loss of focus. If we lose at home, I'll start listening to the alarm bells more. With the shape of the Jets we clearly have an opportunity here to nseak into the playoffs, let's not screw it up. Tim-
  23. There was no big play that fired up the Bills yesterday. In the previous game there was that one "spark" play that fired up the team, and yesterday nothing? Nelson's catch against NE, Fredy's runs in the Oakland, and NE games, Fitzy's run for a first down.. There was a spark in the offense. What I saw yesterday was a team that needed something to get them going? We need other players to step up their game going forward. We can whine about the non-catch all day long and nothing will be changed, so Chan has got to get these guys focused for Philly as they're 1 - 3 and they will NEED a win in Buffalo next week. I'm going to that game so I'll be doing my best to help out, but seriously, let's get over losing to Cincy (Gawd I hated to lose that game) and get our heads in the right place. Tim-
  24. Yeah Sanchez is totoally overrated and we're weeing just how much now that they are trying to transition him to a throwing QB.. Anyway, he got beat bad yesterday big time. I wish we had the jets earlier in this season as I fear Rexy will figure out his O-Line by time we reach them.. LOL Tim-
