  1. Well, I see I hit a nerve? You must be one of those that thinks our TOP need is a LT? Look, we can disagree on that all day long and I will. We simply do NOT need a LT. Giving Fitz another half second to work through his progressions is nonsense. We don't waste a 10th overall pick on a half second of QB time.. Silly doesn't gein to describe that idea. Tim-
  2. To all those folks saying our biggest need is an OT I say you're nutz!!!!! Hairston, Bell are fine (Assuming we keep Bell). We had the lowest sacks against last year I think, and that was with a mixed bag of shuffling OT's. Giving up a sack here and there is NOT, I repeat NOT a big deal. OC's can compensate for an agressive pass rush. We absolutely need two pass rushers and play a wide nine scheme. With Williams healthy, and Darius in the middle a wide nine is our best shot. Darius, and Williams push up the middle force the QB to the outside and the pocket breaks down and one of the outside guys grabs the QB.. I say we sign a FA, and draft two rookies at DE, or one DE, and two OLB early. We then draft CB or WR, lose oour FB, and go with two and three TE sets with Spiller and Freddy in split back formations. Yes we run the spread often, but with the split backs and TE look we can run or pass. The offense IMO is not the problem. hagen looks good and will be fighting for a spot on the roster and will probably win out. He's a deep threat that can run great routes, and come in the middle. No Sir. Our biggests needs are on defense again this year and anyone that doesn't see that is sniffing glue! Tim-
  3. That "aplmer" trade might end up being the best thing they did. yes tis true that it didn't work out this year, but let's face it, there was a lot of rust on ole Palmer, but he still has what it takes to be a winner in ths league, IMO. Next year will be a different story for Oakland. I'd take Hue as our OC any day.. Tim-
  4. CJ was the best talent available at the 9 pick. He has shown he can produce in the NFL, albeit with a plug-in O line. He needs to work on blocking a bit more, but I see drafting another TE, O lineman, and all defense next year. Why not run 2 or 3 TE with split running backs in the backfield once in a while? Is it run or pass? Hagen looked impressive, and if we sign SJ, and add another WR or one of the guys from this year grows up, we have no real needs on offense past the best available at the 10th pick.. If it's an offensive guy or defense is not a concern as long as they are a the best player. You fill holes in the 2nd 3rd and 4th rounds, IMO. Tim-
  5. So, I was thinking that Belichix and Nix are in the same boat next year for drafting. We both need a deep threat wide receiver, and pass rushers.. Pass rushers taking priority for both teams. Should be interesting. Tim-
  6. Doesn't matter, the Bills beat Miami, AND Denver and lose to NE (If they play their starters). We finsh 7 - 9 or 8 - 8 top 15 pick.. Tim-
  7. Well, after Hurd's eventual conviction I hear the Bears will be in the market for a talented proven receiver.. Sign him, 8 million a year 5 guarnteed, with incentives, two year deal with a 3rd year option of 8 million. We need to fill holes, NOT create more of them, and if Nix and the FO don't get this, I'm out. I've been a Bills fan my entire life, attended 3 games this year, brought friends and family, and spent money on over-priced beer, and food to supoort the club. If they keep letting talent walk, then why shouldn't I walk? Tim-
  8. What I don't get is that if Fitzy is so smart, and apparently knows the playbook in his sleep, then why is Gailey calling plays at all? You think Peyton Manning was getting his plays from the sidelines? I'm NOT suggesting Fitz is Peyton Manning, but why not? Why not have Fitz calling his own shots? Anyway, Edwards needs to go. Gailey, and Nix I can give another season too, but GE is an awful coach! Tim-
  9. Agreed! CJ is just fine, IMO, and if we let him go it would be a catestrophic mistake. We are one, maybe two OL away from being awesome. If there's one guy right now that I could see leave it's Corey McIntyre. He doesn't fit this offense, and don't get me wrong I like him, but he's taking up a TE position that I think would be better fit for our Bills. Bills should go with three TE's next year. Cut MaGee loose and develop Williams. Draft LB's and CB's next year! Drop Parrish - (USeless player). Our plan should be finding a way to have two wide outs take 4 defenders with them on every play. That leaves SJ, and our TE's (Nelson included) to get open against LB's and nickle corners. Freddy, and CJ will have a field day in the spread offense. Right now SJ is our only (And has been our only) solid down field guy, and DC's are only putting one defender on him most times. That leaves them 10 defenders to expose our short-pass game, and cover Freddy. If I'm a DC I like those odds! Fitz also needs to work on arm strength in the off season, coz right now he can't even catch up tp SJ down field and that is not a good recipe for a starting QB in this league! Just my thoughts! Tim-
  10. 100% agree! Fitz hurt? I cry BS! Show me the money?? The Pi call was bad but so too was the ST miss on the fake punt. (IMO the best call Norv made as coach all year) That call stole our thunder, and won them the game! I agree on Hagen, could be a Robinson type player for us, and better hands than Jones for sure! Tim-
  11. This is an accurate statement! I like him too, in fact I think McGee is expendable at this stage of his career. The big reason (I suppose a catch-22) our secondary is underperfroming this year goes hand in hand with our lack of a pass rush. On the other hand you could say that we have no pass rush because we can't cover.. But I prefer to think of it the other way.. Tim-
  12. Average time in pocket would have a lot to do with it if you ask me. Look at Rodgers in GB, he gets at leasta second more than Fitz does on average, and if he needs more time he seems able to move laterally unlike Fitz you tucks and runs. IMO, the best thing Gailey can do for Fitz is teach him how to roll out to give him more time to survey the field. Granted Rdogers appears to be able to make all the throws, something Fitz hasn't proven on a consistent basis, but I agree with the posters that are saying that Fitz is a top 15 QB with top 10 potential. Tim-
  13. The defense can't get off the filed, and our offense can't give them a rest.. I mean.. It's not rocket science here! I could NOT believe what I saw today from the Bills.. Horrible effort! Tim-
  14. Well I guess I'm one fot he few that would've taken Von Miller, -or- Darius. I thought both would be good for the Bills in different ways, AND it appears that this seems to hold true. Our defensive run stuffing will improve, and no one runs by Darius if he has a hand free. I don't feel the least bit cheated with Marcell. That said, it does seem clear that we need a pass rusher -or- two on the edge if this defense hopes to be among the elite in this league. Couldn't hurt to have another DB as well, and maybe some depth at LB .. Heck we need a lot of things, but no way am I willing to say that Miller would've been the better pick (Even though it wasn't up to us to decide). A true 4/3 with Kyle and Marcell healthy will stop the run inside, and that bodes well for us moving forward. How many RB's gained the edge on us this year? Not many, and those that did are elite runners like McFadden et al .. We're fine on defense, and our boys are learning and growing together. Patience is a virtue! Tim-
  15. There's nothing wrong with Donald Jones. He's coming along just fine folks. That said, signing TO for $300K to finish the year isn't a bad idea, IMO. At worst he could show the new guys what it takes to be HOF material.. His work ethic is unmatched, and he's matured a lot over the last few years. I think he would be a good fit in Buffalo 2.0.. tim-
  16. If I took the time to bother, I would say that off the top of my head SJ is the number one receiver on most teams in the NFL. I can only think of a handful where he wouldn't be number one, and those dudes are making sick cash.. SJ is worth a handsome contract but one where the benefits are tied to performance. Not to mention, even those teams that have outstanding number 1 receivers would gladly take SJ off our hands and pay him what we would pay him for our number one, what they would for their number two.. So? Offer him 6 million a year for 7 years, with 15 million Gauranteed.. Only an idiot wouldn't take that kind of money! Tim-
  17. Good point and a point I noticed that all but one commentator neglected to mention. I think it was Dan the man patrick that gave about 5 minutes of it on his radio show last week. No one has put that many yards on Revis this year or in the past few years. Steivie was thrown to 5 times and caught 4 passes against Revis.. Not bad, certainly we should CUT SJ now.. Sarc/ Tim-
  18. Now if only we have Chan saying this in two weeks I'll about **** my pants.. Chan are you listening. I know you have Miami this Sunday BUT YOU DAMN WELL better be watching a **** load of film on plays that work against the Jets or you have noi shot at getting caught saying Suck my D ck to Rex.. Tim-
  19. THIS ^^^ Is spot on! I mean, hell if we're going three and out anyway, why not three runs until teams get the message. This is the ONLY reason Sanchez still has a job in NY. It's also why he can look good sometimes in the passing game. The pass can open up the run, but if the pass has been taken away from you, you run to open up the pass. No team can take both away at the same time. We need to run it 25 to 30 times a game, and use all three backs, Fred, CJ, and Smith.. (Yes I call smith a back cause he sure as hell ain't no QB) Tim-
  20. What are you talking about? They tried to go deep several times yesterday. Chan knows this.. he damn well knows that DC's are sitting on the short routes and our screens won't work if they are.. Sheesh.. The problem is that Fitz can't seem to connect deep consistently enough for opposing DC's to worry, or scheme for it. Right now they're daring in fact goading us into going deep, and in the event that Fitz's somehow manages to get the deep ball caught, it's still only once or twice a game, and that won't kill ANY opposing DC's game plan.. It absolutley is about execution, and right now, the boys aren't getting it done to any degree worthy of having opposing teams worry about us. Tim-
  21. Look, I promised myself that I wouldn't come here today because I just KNEW what was in-store.. Negative, negative, Fitx sucks, Defense sucks, Chan sucks, Nix has gotta go, Stevie sucks, Jones sucks.. On and on.. Ok.. My take on the situation. 1. We now know that we lack depth on Defense. 2. We lack depth on offense. 3. Our special teams is nothing special. Ok, but, and a BIG FAT but.. We are, when healthy, a pretty competitive team, and can beat anyone in the NFL (Cept maybe Green Bay) on any given Sunday. That said, injuries cascade downward as they build. Losing Kyle caused Darius to move to NT, Losing Kelsay caused opposing Defenses to only concemtrate on Darius. No DC fears Moats, Battan, or Sheppard. What it means is that Edwards has no choice but to use Wilson, and Byrd in run protection, and causes our DB's to play man to man. With Merriman out (I know some here hate on him, but the fact is that he forces DC's to scheme for his pressence) the whole problem intensifies. THIS is why our Defense sucks right now. Not because they aren't good, but because they're having to play multiple roles that they are not necessarily BEST suited for, and opposing OC's know it. On offense, the same thing. It all begins and ends with the Offensive line. A line that has been unhealthy since week three, and caused our line to be put in the position of not playing our guys in their most ideal, and natural roles. Now with Wood out, who knows what will happen in Miami next week? Now, all this doesn't mean that "some" of the criticism hurled at Fitz, and Chan, and other players isn't warranted, but not anywhere near to the degree that some here are saying. The net result of our woes can be mostly reversed if we can play with a healthy squad. Yes, a lot of teams don't have a healthy team all the time, and seem to do well, and we certainly need to address this in the draft. If (All these if's) Fitz can just hit a few guys deep on a consistent basis, and "If" our O-Line can protect Fitz for more than 2 seconds we move from a mediocre team that we are now, to a playoff team, and one that can contend. We really are only a few key injuries away from righting the ship, and that's my take. Yes, it is frustrating to watch our season blow up like this, but you have to admit, both the Jets and the Cowboys played perfect games. The Jets played their best game all season to beat us, and so did the Cowboys. That alone says that teams are respecting the Bills, and even if they do know that our spread short passing offense is all we have, they still get up for the games when playing us.. Go Bills, and even if we do somehow miss the playoffs due to our serious key injuries, we still have a good solid foundation for next season. Just my opinion! Tim-
  22. I don't root for anyone other than the Bills. May the best team on Sunday! We got shown the door last Sunday by the Jets, but I took it as a teaching moment. Hopefully, Gailey did as well, and we can move on, but root for another team?? Naw, no way bro.. Tim-
  23. Bad move for Bills to go after him.. Stay very far away! As for Stallworht, now that is something we should look at. Tim-
  24. Couldn't have said it better myself. This is exactly how I feel we need to use him. DC's would need to put a CB on him, and that means one less LB at the line. Tim-
  25. I said 11 - 5 and was mocked for it.. I even broke it down game by game.. The only deviation from my prediction thus far is losing to Cincy and beating the Patriots. In my prediction I had it reversed, of course.. As a note, I have since revised my prediciton to 12 - 4 and winning the wild card, however, if the Patriots lose this weekend against the Gmen, then the Jets will need a win against them next Sunday, and THAT game will be agood one to watch. I have us splitting with the Jets and Patriots this year, each team winning at home. As for the rest of the schedule, do you seriously think that we can't beat any of them? Tim-
