  1. Just family and a few friends over for food and drinks. I am past the point of partying myself into a stupor to welcome in the New Year.
  2. When everyone else seemed to be saying "We are dooooomed" he said "It is not over yet!"
  3. Since I said RBs, I hope it would be on offense.
  4. Pat Williams and Sam Adams lining up as RBs in a short yardage scenario.
  5. Yes, we are stingy as hell! "Jan Egeland, the UN's coordinator of humanitarian affairs, yesterday retracted his Dec. 27 comment that Western countries were ``stingy'' with aid, calling U.S. contributions ``generous.'' Bush defended the level of U.S. funds for the affected countries. ``The person who made that statement was very misguided and ill-informed,'' said Bush. In 2004, the U.S. supplied $2.4 billion in food, cash and humanitarian relief, or 40 percent of all relief aid provided in the world, he said. ``We're a very generous, kind-hearted nation,'' said Bush. 6. Listen to the man! I parked in that lot one year a few years back. In the morning everything was fine because the ground was frozen. It thawed and after the game it was like driving through a corn field. Luckily my friend had a 4x4. Game day weather looks like 50 degrees and a chance of rain.
  7. Try the Bills Backers link at buffalobills.com I know there is a central NJ club and NYC Backers at 2nd and 42nd St.
  8. Fortunately, I am able to keep an account in escrow all by my little self to pay off taxes and homeowner's insurance. Every mortgage company or bank I ever dealt with has f*ked it up.
  9. Hell. I have been a very rabid fan for 40 years and I was ready to bench Bledsoe after the second loss to start building for next year. So I am eating crow (tastes pretty f*ing good) and staying with my earlier note - the Bills must win out. That is all they control. I like that Mularkey turned off all the locker room tv's last week and told the team to nevermind what was happening in the early games - just go out there at beat the 49ers.
  10. The Bills did cut him, along with Thurman and Andre. I don't think he wanted more money, but the Bills may have tried to restructure his contract to help the cap, and he refused. If anyone knows the facts, I would be interested. I did find this tidbit: year 2000 "cuts"
  11. There is only one choice - WIN OUT! Anything else is out of their control.
  12. It has been nice seeing a few kickoffs into the end zone, and many inside the 10 yard line. I was getting very ill watching the line drives to the twenty yard line from previous years! signed Mrs. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Lindell
  13. Steve Christie was 5-5 yesterday.
  14. Yes, it would be tv fan convenient and very advantageous to the networks. However, it would be a logistical nightmare for the teams and the "live" fans. It was killing me that I could not watch both the Bills and Jets games yesterday. I did not care who won the brown fish game. So move the CBS game from 4PM on CBS to 8:30PM on ESPN. Hell just write the schedule in pencil and carry an eraser. Imagine what it would do to travelers, hotel reservations, vacation days, family plans ...... Imagine what it would do to stadium event booking, equipment managers, airline arrangements for the teams (not to mention all their STUFF) .... logistical nightmare! BTW: I am a customer service logistics analyst
  15. Sliced and simmering on Kenny's Pinto hood?
  16. I guess what has been done in NFL years past still works. I am in the camp of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The next step would be using W/L records for wild card seeding - regardless of the conference.
  17. Congrats to Psycho and her team!
  18. I am sure the perimeter of the field will be lined by off-duty police their "nice doggies".
  19. I am rooting for a scoreless tie.
  20. I agree with some points and disagree on some others. I cannot deny it is a good thought provoking post. That said - at this point the Bills must win out, since anything else it not in their hands. Go Bills!
  21. Some additonal reading you may find interesting: Bill Watterson
  22. For a couple years, the syndicate that carried Calvin and Hobbes, made him put out a nine-month calendar (I still have them). When the syndicate started to pressure him to do t-shirts, stuffed toys, board games wonder bread, met life, yuck, he said he would retire before he would sell out the characters. The syndicate was quite pissed since merchandising WAS in his initial agreement and he was backing out of his contract after he became successful (kind of like sports, eh?) Luckily, the franchising part of the contract was resolved and we got a few more years of dailies before he "ran out of new ideas". He did all the penciling, inking, and lettering... he wanted it to be 100% his creation. Many cartoonists routinely use ghost inkers, letterers, "think tanks" for new ideas, but he did not want to go that route. I miss C&H but would rather have it shelved than watered down or sold. If you see ANY C&H mugs, shirts, decals.... they are pirated and not approved by their creator. I know - that is more than you probably ever wanted to know but it is hard to shut me up!
  23. Merry Christmas to all!
  24. I have every one of the C&H compilations, except one that was just cartoons from two prior books. I often wonder: what Bill Watterson is up to these days?
