  1. I talked to several people in Mexico about wages when I was there recently. The average person, working in the resorts, makes $5 a day plus tips. They considered themselves fortunate to have steady paychecks, even if the hours were so long. They felt that (for them) the only reason to go to the U.S. was for the money. They preferred living in the Puerto Vallarta area, than moving to the U.S. It was also very hard for them to legally get permission to emigrate. These were non-professionals, service industry folks, but face it, how many of us are blue collar and low-end white collar but still own cars, homes, PCs, and yes, season tickets? Our peers in Mexico are just getting by. Someplace like Mexico City or maybe Guadalajara might be able to make some money off exhibition games, but I cannot see how they would support a franchise. I am also not opposed to exhibition games in Toronto to increase the regional nature of the Bills IN BUFFALO. I have friends in Hamilton who are Bills season ticket owners.
  2. I will not make any moral statements here. I would advise you to each get a living will on file if you have not already done so (that would be me too). Several years back, I was the primary person responsible for my grandmother. She had a massive stroke and was essentialy unresponsive, a vegetable if you will. She had a surgically implanted gastronomic feeding tube (if that is the correct term). At one point I met with her case team. The tube had been in for years and stomach acid was dissolving it. They wanted me to sign to have another one installed, a surgical procedure. At first I would not sign the papers. I knew she did not want to live this way, a feeding tube vegetable. The doctors informed me that it would it would be a very painful way to die, and even though she was not cognizant, she would feel the pain. So I signed the forms, but made them start trying to feed her orally to supplement the tube. They did and she seemed to enjoy the taste of food again. A small victory for me. My children were very young, but we regularly visited Great Grandma. Every time we went, we fed her ice cream. The kids seemed to bond with Grandma by caring for her, drawing her pictures and feeding her ice cream. Sometimes she followed us with her eyes and I wondered if anyone "was home". Within a year she died of natural causes at 93 in her sleep. Again - most of this does not apply to this case, except for one thing. How much pain might this person experience before she dies. I have no answers and make no judgements. Spare your family the agony of making the choices for you and get a living will. If a parent of grandparent asks you to be their power of attorney, document their wishes concerning medical care immediately. AFTER a stroke, it may be too late.
  3. Pittsford is has its own section in the Rochester D&C today. Not much mention of the Bills at St John Fisher, but it does have the parade on the calendar. Wegman's makes page one, of course since it is a SUPER Wegman's. I was just in Piitsford last night at a nice place - Bennucci's Restaurant. No pictures of Jay's house though. I thought that would be a landmark by now! Peets-ford Where is JÂy RÛßeÒ anyway? Still on vacation?

  16. Early 70's were a real trip. I loved Alice Cooper's "Killer" album. Alice Cooper, David Bowie, Lou Reed, David Bromberg, JJ Cale, Earl Scruggs Review, Taj Mahal, The Band, Hot Tuna, Grateful Dead, Tom Waits, Mississippi John Hurt, Memphis Slim, Good Rats, New Riders, Commander Cody.... too many to name them all. You are right about Manson, he will be in a padded room one day.

  23. I saw him in Rochester when they had about 3 or 4 players and cheerleaders at a car dealership on Marsh Road. Flutie was there and was on the bench that year behind RJ. He was taking time to talk to every fan - especially the kids. When it was my turn, I told him to be ready because he was going to get his chance soon. He looked at me and said, "You really mean that, don't you?" I smiled and just said, "Yes, so be ready!" He stood up and shook my hand and said "Thanks!" I was about 5th from the end of the line, the doors were closed, and the tv cameras had left, so he was not playing the media at that point. He was just a regular guy. I am not refuting your bad experience AND I do not say this to start another freaking Flutie debate. Just telling you MY encounter with him. I wish him well. Someone will probably pick him up as a backup.
