  1. This is where I've been impressed with EJ. On the long throw to Gragg today there was pressure in EJs face. Rather than tuck and run or scramble he just slid left and threw an accurate ball, no panic. It was the sort of play where it would have been really easy to pull it down but he did the right thing. The Browns were blitzing the hell out of EJ and the line and backs were doing a really poor job. On the last drive in particular, EJ did a really nice job of moving inside the pocket, re-setting, and throwing an accurate pass on multiple occasions. This one is another example where he could have run, didn't, and threw a really nice ball to a man in stride vs. Carolina on the long TD to Thompson he had pressure, stepped up under control rather than tuck and run and threw a perfect pass to Thompson. In the past? Maybe a scramble or a check down or a throw away. he kept his eyes downfield, moved in the pocket, got his feet set and threw the ball where it was supposed to go.
  2. Can I get an Amen? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUZRz_NVuaU
  3. Can't mention the WR blocking enough on that run. Goodwin did a good job and Easley obviously pancaked his guy without holding which was great. The O-line blocking gets you the first 10 yards, the WRs get you the rest.
  4. I wouldn't be shocked to see Robey trailing Hilton around on opening day. Robey's biggest liability is his lack of height. Hilton is his size. I don't think we'll see Darby on him anyway.
  5. I realize that he was against a mix of competition, but EJ is averaging 11.9 yards per attempt. That's impressive regardless of who is playing. The only person in the entire NFL doing better than that is Vick and Vick only has 5 total attempts. The closest to EJ who have somewhere in the same range of attempts are Mariota (9.3/attempt 27 attempts), Mettenberger (8.3/attempt 31 attempts), and Chase Daniel (8.2/attempt 33 attempts). Taylor is averaging 7.6/attempt in 31 attempts and Cassel is averaging 5.5/attempt in 15 attempts. I feel these numbers are reflective of what we've seen. EJ has been throwing downfield, TT has been mostly short to intermediate with some RAC and Cassel has been short outs and curls all day long with nothing even remotely downfield. For me the decision is between EJ and TT and it's really close. If TT was able to connect on a long pass or two I'd feel a little better about it.
  6. NJ has the lowest fuel taxes in the country. They also have a bankrupt highway and bridge fund.
  7. I also hold his agent responsible. It's his job to make sure his client is seen in the most positive light. He didn't talk to VaTech at all to make sure that competent WRs would be present at the pro day? Can you picture this happening to a Drew Rosenhaus client? No chance.
  8. The NCAA didn't screw him Va Tech did. They are the people who organize those pro days and they are supposed to intentionally be set up to showcase the players. It helps the football program as much as anything to have well known players in the league. It is unreal to me that the football program allowed something like that to happen to a player of Tyrod Taylor's status at Va Tech. They could have brought in some FA WRs off the street to catch balls at the pro day if they didn't have any Seniors to put into the workout. Tyrod would have gotten a good workout in without any eligibility issues. Pro Days are scheduled way in advance so there was plenty of lead in time for arrangements to be made and I'm sure there are several VT alumns they could have brought in who would have been happy to help the program.
  9. How about an organ, or at least a flipping recording of an organ doing the Let's Go Buffalo thing like they do for the Sabres. You own all the teams, get it together man! It CAN be done there is visual evidence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oR1effC-UY4 We don't need any prep or to even be told you're planning it. Just play the damned notes. Everybody knows what to do after that.. Hell, put speakers in the parking lot and pump it out at random intervals during tailgating. D-D-C-C-D E-E-D-D-E F-F-D#-D#-F DOOOOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIT!
  10. Yeah this is 90% BS and profiteering. FWIW $2.29 in Delaware today.
  11. 1. Simple solution to WiFi. When the opponent has the ball everyone gets WiFi, when we have it you are SoL. It's "The Patriot Way" 2. Giving out beer cans is going to end badly, and soon.
  12. I've had a couple opportunities to be on the field at different stadiums and, in general, they are really hinkey about having kids on the field. I suspect it's an insurance issue as much as anything else. I'd imagine that the insurance companies have only gotten more strict since that young boy was killed this summer serving as a bat boy.
  13. The point is the fall guy has to be some un-famous lackey in your entourage. Not a teammate
  14. Which is a polite way of saying nobody has offered anything yet, but if you think you're going to pick him up on waivers you should think twice.
  15. That's some quality advice right there... Disgraceful. Cris Carter has been a turd for many years, good to see that though he might be sober now his ****ty attitude hasn't changed. Either that or someone at the NFL has a conscience and made sure the video didn't disappear like so many other videos do at the home office.
  16. I fully believe that coaches try to get into players heads. If you think EJ is your most talented option but know he needs to improve a bunch fundamentally what better to motivate EJ and make him work for the job than sticking him 3rd string? If he puts in the work and makes the improvements he needs to make he earns the job. If he doesn't then you don't have the seismic upheaval during PS of benching EJ at that point. There's something to be said for seeing how someone reacts when they are tested and made to earn their spot. EJ's been the hands down starter on his team basically since Pop Warner.
  17. Wes Welker in that he's small and white. Lots of guys fit that mold. Willis is 5'9" 175lbs and ran a 4.38 Marquise Goodwin is 5'10" 180lbs and ran a 4.27 Welker is 5'9" 185lbs and ran a 4.65 Willis looks more like a Goodwin than a Welker if you don't see their headshots.
  18. Goodwin matched up with Newton's deep arm might be enticing. RB I think is still the most likely deal to be had. Several guys there who could help someone.
  19. This is the situation. The question is who would someone be interested in. If Hogan were healthy you might sell someone on him for a low pick. Nobody's going to give you anything for Deonte Thompson or Andre Davis though.
