Olbermann Bills/Soccer insult
White Linen replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew you'd look for me in this thread. I on the other hand am nearly brilliant. -
I know Chicago is a pretty expensive ticket but him springing for tickets and you getting him a jersey is pretty close. Are you sure you want to do this? It's more than just a gesture of thanks.

Mark Brunell: Marrone bringing Saints O to Bills
White Linen replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't need to see the comments by Brunell to know we're lucky to have Marrone. Unfortunately in today's NFL it's all about the players and development time isn't something afforded to today's coaches. If the players come together Marrone is the type of coach that can succeed. -
Olbermann Bills/Soccer insult

He's one of the biggest morons on the planet. -
I agree with this too. I think there's several others that have the potential to be as good or better but really only Mario has proven he's great and because of his age is still in his prime.

I guess Sammy. The Bills traded a proven commodity in Stevie to go all in with him and he obviously hasn't done anything yet. I think like most posters it's not like I'm not a fan or don't believe in the player, just overrated vs nfl results.

Greg Gabriel National Football Post previews 2014 Bills
White Linen replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree. This team will go as far as EJ'S readiness will take them. I know that sounds cliche but I think the team is now good enough for that to be true. -

I've never had them. I happen to be in town and will give them a shot. -
Will the Wilson trust give a stay at home discount?

Hard to know. I've said all along that Ralph's dying wishes to his family was to keep the team here if they possibly could. -

What We Could Learn From History

Excellent points. He should have stayed on the Montana comparison as it's a lot closer to Tuel from a numbers perspective. -
Rotoworld: Mike Williams may get cut?
White Linen replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"What concerned me about Williams' roster spot is that he isn't likely to contribute on special teams. Goodwin and Graham both offer upside as kick returners, while Hogan finished third on the team with nine special teams tackles last season." Hogan has him concerned about taking Williams' roster spot because of 9 special teams tackles? Weak attempt at trying to sound smart Rodak. -
NFL: Television vs Stadium Experience
White Linen replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I certainly wouldn't want to put out a wide spread indictment on the entire stadiums of fans - and at the same time I don't think it's fair to say fans like me that would prefer to not go to games are the type who want you to sit down, want no banging of their chair and that you don't want in the stadium. In full disclosure I have a relatively small amount of game day experience. I'm 39 years old and I've been to only about 15 games - of those I'd say only 5 were pleasurable experiences. One rough experience in particular was when I was somewhere around 15-16 years old my brother took me to a game (birthday gift) and 2 Jets fans were in the stands wearing Jets jerseys. Of course it started out with the entire section pointing at them saying A-hole - then these guys finally stood up for themselves and yelled something back because they were being heckled unmercifully - several (10-15) guys from this section commenced to beat the snot out of these two guys, in fact it was the worst live beating I've seen in my life. At the end they weren't moving and no one did anything about it because the mob would have turned on you (or at least it felt that way). I've got 8-9 more terribly miserable experiences albeit not this bad from being at the stadium. All the things you describe are awesome - celebrating a TD with your fellow fans is an incredible experience, but I've got to tell you there's no way I'd take my boys into that stadium based on my small sample of experiences. I get it most people that go say hey it's no place for kids so what, but for me that ruins some of why I'd want to go. -

Tough defensive football players that get overly aggressive at times = serial killers? -

There's an argument that Ealey spit in Spikes face the play prior. Spikes said he wasn't trying to injure but rub it back in his face. Who the heck knows but I heard Rod Woodson say Seattle has so many players with "that dog" in them. I think it's time we had some players with that dog. Seattle is nasty. I think they play so physical that the referees have a difficult time figuring out what to call because they're so aggressive, so they basically elevate the allowable aggressiveness because it's a constant. I for one am glad Spikes is here and I'll live with some of his antics if he elevates the toughness of this defense. We're talented on defense there's zero doubt about that, now IMO we have to get crazy physical with teams. -
NFL: Television vs Stadium Experience
White Linen replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But the other element within the fan experience is it's being diminished by the excessive drinking and subsequent behavior. Again this isn't something I'm trying to convince anyone of, I'm just saying for me it's not worth dealing with. -
I could not agree more. I think we may be over looking how good our D ends are. I'm sorry I like Hughes, Lawson and the addition of Wynn. Hughes is 25, he can improve against the run and make himself a better all around end.

NFL: Television vs Stadium Experience

To me the NFL stadium experience has boiled down to getting hammered or having to deal with all the others around you that are hammered. It's just not something that appeals to me even though I would prefer being there from a football aspect. I live in Charlotte now so I don't make that choice every week but I always chose not to go when I return home and I never make a special trip to go to a game. Not sure how Buffalo compares to most stadiums but I do know games in Charlotte are a lot more tame. I know I know you'll say their fans don't compare to ours and you're right they don't, but it is for me the much better game time experience because the fans are not able to get too out of control. US Patent Office cancels Redskins trademark

I could talk myself into being offended by nearly half the sports team names. -
You know the clear argument is who each of them had throwing them the ball? Sounds like that did need to be explained to you. I actually agree that talent wise Moulds was the better receiver, not by a wide margin, but if I had to take one right now on this team it would be Moulds.
