  1. The biggest difference for McDermott will be to have his DL show up in the playoffs. If they make a few plays here and there and we are probably calling ourselves SB champions in these 5 years. Mahomes is something like 75% completion in Playoffs against the Bills with 8 TDs to zero turnovers and the same Mahomes was pedestrian against other Playoff teams or even against the Bills in regular season. That is the only "If" I would want to see change.
  2. Hyde and Poyer have been washed up the last few years. They have been slow and the NFL is all about speed. If anything McDermott (or rather Beane) should have Simmons on their speed dial.
  3. When the MVP voting happened, the only other player to get a 1st place vote was Josh Allen and it was not Mahomes. Mahomes was ok during the season and stepped up during the playoffs taking his team to yet another SuperBowl win.
  4. as several have pointed out, there are multiple folks who would like to prove it wrong Miller, Bass, Elam, Epenesa. There are others questioning if Milano can come back from his gruesome injury ? Our WRs are marked as not capable of being #1? Can one of them raise above everyone and get that volume of targets ?
  5. I don't think anyone will fret over Coleman if Samuel and MVS are ahead of him in training camp. This WR group could be quite deep.
  6. and then bailed him out with his drops. Parrish didn't have a good QB to throw to (just like Evans)
  7. It can become less important if our front seven can generate enough pass rush. Of course, McDermott defense is based on keeping everything in front of them (on the backside) and we are likely to give up a lot of yardage but may toughen when they are in the Red Zone
  8. Disagree. With Dorsey, we will try to chuck the ball downfield for chunk plays with higher risks and failed, Brady adjusted to a more dink-and-dunk offense and reduced the turnovers and ran the ball more. It became a balanced offense and he spread the ball and thus negating Diggs long catches that were part of the 1st half of the season.
  9. Will any of the WRs emerge as a true #1 Will Bass be kicking for his job Will Milano come back from injury to his all-pro level Who will be our CB2 Will someone show pass rushing skills that will be meaningful in the playoffs Who will be our starting safeties, a question asked after 7 years of Hyde and Poyer So many exciting battles to be won. Can't wait for TC to kick off
  10. This is the problem. Your 1st round pick is good only for 8-10 sacks. That is tough to swallow. Same with your 2nd round pick (who was re-signed) who also is in line for 6-8 sacks. Our bar is so low
  11. 32 teams - average 3 players per team 9 key positions on offense and defense - 11 players at each position We have to ask ourselves - which of our players are top-11 at their positions. In the past, Poyer, Hyde and White were usually in the Top 100 as they were a top-10 player at their position group. And then we had Josh and Diggs. Milano was injured last year and hence was not a top-10 linebacker. Tauron Johnson may be the best slot corner and probably a top-10 CB and should have been part of this list. Oliver is close to be a top-10 player on the DL (includes DT and DE)....probably finished just outside the top-10. James Cook also was a close to be a top-10 Running Back in the league last year. Dawkins is probably one of the top-10 LT in the game...but is his a top ten OL in the league ? You really have to be the best or one of the best player at your position to be in the Top 100. This is especially harder in positions like DL where there are 5 players playing for each team..you have to be top-10 out of 150 STARTERS. More Bills players will crack the top-10 this year... Dalton, Cook, Dawkins, Bernanrd, Oliver, Johnson, Milano, Douglas
  12. And yet we beat them in the regular season and lost by a missed FG in the playoffs, especially with our defense missing key starters
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if Dalton himself gets close to 90 catches. Go Bills !
  14. our version of Steve Spagnuolo. I can buy that. However, I don't think McDermott allows him a free ride. Could we add Javon Solomon and make it 30 sacks for the four of them. He could be a difference maker.
  15. In August 2023, travelling 10,000 miles to Seattle to run a half marathon with my son and finishing together was one of the most priceless moments that I will cherish forever
  16. Groot had 5 sacks in the first 4 games before picking up an injury that nagged him rest of the season.
  17. The Bills lost to the Chiefs by a FG in the 2023 playoffs. None of the players who were NOT retained made any difference in that game (Diggs, Davis, Hyde, Poyer, White etc). The folks who played down the stretch (Shakir, Dalton, Cook, Bernard etc) are still with the team. The team has reloaded on the WR front and drafted well. Additionally, folks like Milano and hopefully Miller will be coming back healthy. This team will challenge every single opponent in 2024... Oh...not to forget...we have #17, the best QB on the planet. Go Bills !!!
  18. they have to provide content during the off season,
  19. Who are the top five GM in your opinion. That will also help make the case for Beane
  20. great stuff... The no punt playoff game where we whooped the Patsies has to be right there in the "The Good" list. It felt so good that day Renewal of the Miami-Bills rivalry The loss against Minnesota with the fumble on the goal line was terrible. We gave it to them Kim's health - Not so good
  21. I am less worried about our WR group. I am more worried about the CB and DE situation. We had zero Pass Rush against the Chiefs in the playoffs and we continue to not improve there.
  22. When Tyreek was playing for the Chiefs, it was hard to double team both Kelce and Hill. Last year, teams double teamed Kelce and that allowed Rice to make plays outside. Gabe Davis, Knox all benefitted from Diggs getting double teamed. Brady should experiment with putting his fastest players on the field...Samuel, Dalton and Cook. It will be hard to defend all of them at the same time and not to forget the threat Josh poses.
  23. THis year will be a good test without Diggs. I think Diggs was able to clear the middle taking two defenders with him. This opened some serious holes up the middle for Josh to scamper and then bull rush people. Without Diggs, will our WRs get double-teamed and will they be able to create space for Josh Passing TD and INT probably play the biggest role in MVP voting (for QBs) as it measures "How good were you" and "How bad were you". You don't want your MVP to be ever called out for the "How bad were you". IMHO, MVP of the league is kinda hard to judge without statistics as they are not really playing for the league. MVP of a team makes a lot more sense
